Yeah, there was no way he was seeing double. There couldn't be. He looked at his sister, not exactly sure what to think or say at the moment. "You... Haven't changed at all." Well, she'd died, after all. Hearing her calling his name was so surreal. "You're supposed to be... I mean..." There was no way he could say it. None. Especially not when she was right in front of him. 

  'Yes Shuuya?' It had been… long since she was finally able to meet with her siblings again. All these years she had waited for an opportunity to finally meet them even after her mission had failed. Maybe she should research more about it and then attempt it and then come back with those eye powers.

It had been a while since he heard his sister giggling like that. It was still hard to believe for him, that she was right there in front of him. Yet, there she was. When she started crying, he didn't really feel it was his place to console her, though he decided to try. He was the one that was the most vengeful after what happened. He'd taken it out on Shintaro, even. He didn't want Ayano knowing how pathetic he'd acted, though.

"You don't have to worry, nee-san. Don't cry. We all miss you, but we're growing up, after all." Even he'd managed to get past his vengeful streak after Ayano's death. "I'm just glad I got the chance to see you again."

“In a sense.”

She giggled a bit, a sound that was rare since she had joined the Never Ending World. She really missed her family, her siblings and her friends. But she couldn’t leave the Haze permanently, only for a short period of time. Looking at Shuuya, the smile turned sorrowful as she fixed her scarf. Tears starting to come from the corners of her eyes.

“I’m really sorry for leaving, I really am. But the mission I had to go was a solo one, you know? I’m sorry!”

"Ayano nee-san, you..." This was without a doubt his sister, now, he knew. The way she called his name, and being reminded how she helped them all get over their eyes. 'Red is the color of the hero', she said her own words easily. What really surprised him, was when he saw her eyes became bright red. "Y-Your eyes! You... You have special 'eyes' now too?" But, nee-san was supposed to be a normal person, so how...?

“Shuuya.”

She pronounced her little brother’s name with adoration. There was time to explain many things. So, so many things.

“Remember when I told you three that red was the color of the hero?”

Closing her eyes for a moment, she continued smiling with the same warmth before opening her eyes again. The brown had changed into a bright red.

"Ayano nee-san!?" This couldn't be right. Was he seeing double today? He couldn't help but stare at Ayano, who seemed exactly the same as she was years ago. He could have sworn he was seeing two of her, though. When did the second one show up?

No, he definitely wasn't seeing things. She'd even addressed him. Still, he knew that his sister had died years ago. Yet, she didn't look like she had changed at all from that time. "Nee-san, that's really you?" It had to be her. There was definitely no mistaking it. "But you're... How are you here?"

  The smile only got gentler as the girl kept her gaze onto the boy who before she had died was starting to pass her height. This was one of her precious siblings, the prankster yet sweet one.

"Shuuya."
