The Mockingjay is dead. The rebels used her as a martyr against Snow in the first rebellion. President Alma Coin had promised change, a new Panem after Snow's reign. But her desire for power got to her head; Coin's rule has become much harsher and The Hunger Games have not ceased. This is not the 'New Panem' that was promised to the people. Will they have what it takes to rise up and fight for the future that they deserve? Or is history doomed to repeat itself?

Hello Everyone!
As you all know, I’ve been visiting family last week, so I hadn’t been able to have as much time with my computer as I had before. But I’m back home now, so I’ll be back to my normal schedule of posting and doing admin things. That being said, activity checks will also be a thing again. I know quite a handful of us had been very busy with life in general, so there had been quite a slump in activity these past couple of weeks.
Here are a couple of things to note:
The activity check break will end Wednesday, May 17th. Anyone who has not posted on their accounts or has not contacted the main by the 17th will be unfollowed and their roles reopened. The regulations for activity checks will continue as normal after the 17th.
I will also plan to start a plot drop toward the end of this week as well, so activity is essential to get the plot for the group rolling [finally].
EDIT: The submit box has also been reopened! So any new applications can now be submitted!
I also want to say thank you so much to everyone who has stuck around and waited through this crazy time for everybody! Your patience is very much appreciated.

As mentioned in a previous announcement, I had to move into my new apartment this past weekend, so apologies for the late acceptance! There originally had been two reserves for this spot, but only one app was submitted, so I believe there was plenty of time given for both players to submit their characters. So here’s the acceptance of the night!
Congratulations, Claire! You have been accepted as your desired character Daphne Hemlock with the face claim Kaya Scodelario! As I’ve said before, I’m always such a sucker for sibling bonds, so I love how close Daphne is to her brother. Not to mention that she still has him, especially after everything she had gone through at such a young age. I think she’ll fit in nicely with the younger Victors and I can’t wait to see her on the dash! Please look over the checklist on the guidelines page and send in your account within 24 hours. Happy Hunger Games, and may the odds be ever in your favor.

Hey everyone!
Just wanted to make a quick post about activity this past week and the next week to come. As you may have noticed, I haven't been around much this past week and I apologize. I had to move to a new apartment in a very short timeframe [it's a long story] and I'm also getting ready for a week long trip out of state for a whole week-- May 7th to May 13th. I will be bringing my laptop with me, however, I'm visiting family and they come first, so activity may still be scarce on my end. That being said, it doesn't mean I won't be checking in on things still. There are a couple things I wanted to mention before I left for my trip, so you are all in the loop:
To be fair for my absence, I won’t be doing activity checks until after I return Saturday, May 13th. This past week was finals week for a lot of you, and with people moving [including myself], I would feel like a hypocrite if I was penalizing people for not being around when I would be absent, and that just wouldn’t be fair in general. Still, don’t let that deter you from posting and continuing any threads/plots you guys have been making! I may have chances in the early mornings or late evenings to be online and to get replies done and answer any questions that may come up.
That being said, I’ll be closing the submit box temporarily on the night of Saturday, May 6th until my return Saturday, May 13th. You guys can still send in asks to the main and I’ll do my best to answer them when I can, but I will not be checking over new applications while I'm on my trip.
I will be posting an event sometime within the week of my return, so be on the lookout for that! In the meantime, again, this next week will be spent with characters getting to know each other and plotting things out! If you have any questions at all, please ask!

The opening event has now ended! Which means now is the time for the Victors and citizens in The Capitol to go about their lives either in the Victor's Village or the Capitol itself. Don't fret, though, you guys will still have another 24 hours to wrap up any event threads your character is in. Just refrain from starting any new threads at the Victory Tour Celebration.
To get a better feel for the Capitol, I compiled a small list below of what life in The Capitol is like for Victors and Citizens alike. This should make it easier for you guys to write up starters and think up more plots between your characters. And of course as the plot develops, some of these may change depending on the events that occur. If you have any questions, please ask!
The Victors live within The Capitol in a Victors' Village built exclusively for them. It is a gated community closed off from Capitol citizens, unless they are invited. Doctors, Peacekeepers, Escorts, and other higher status Capitolites may enter without being invited inside.
Each Victor has their own home in the Victor's Village, much like the set up of the Victor Villages in the Districts. President Coin requested the Victors' Village be built within The Capitol to keep the Victors close. The houses are large and extravagant, fit for a Victor to reside and call home.
Much like the other Victors' Villages, Victors are allowed to have family and friends from their home Districts living with them in the Victors' Village.
Each citizen, whether they are a Victor or not, has a schedule that is tattooed onto their arm each morning. There is a machine each citizen sticks their arm in and the schedule shows up on their arm, much like in District Thirteen. They are to follow this schedule accordingly and if they fail to do so, they will be issued a warning by the Peacekeepers. If the lack of discipline persists, then the offending citizen will be taken into custody.
Said schedules mostly pertain to the citizens' occupation, making sure they are all doing their part in The Capitol. Victors are mostly scheduled to shoot propos, commercials, interviews, therapy sessions, go to galas-- anything that President Coin requires of them.
Travel between the Districts is allowed. However, special permission has to be granted by the President herself, and the visits never last longer than 48 hours upon arrival into the District. This privilege can be taken away if the citizen or Victor in question had not been following their schedules or they have a criminal record.
Citizens in The Capitol aren’t as outrageous about their style as they had been before, mostly since citizens from District Thirteen had integrated themselves in with the Capitol citizens. That doesn’t mean the extreme body modifications and fashion sense has completely faded from The Capitol, however.
A list of Capitol and rebel jobs can be found here

AUDRINA COLLINS |  NURSE | TAKEN
TRAITS:
+ Patient, Allocentric, Charismatic - Frugal, Impulsive, Shy
BIOGRAPHY:
TW: Death, Suicide Mention
Audrina was born first, but she doesn’t really remember her life without her little brother, Colton, in it. She was born in District Ten, the land of livestock as she likes to call it on occasion, and for a little while she lived a fairly normal life, or as normal of a life a person could live in an impoverished and severely uneducated family. Audrina soon came to realize, though, that those two family traits were not completely uncommon when it came to the lower Districts in Panem.
At a young age she would dream of what it would be like to live a lavish lifestyle like those of The Capitol. She would often talk with her girl friends in the district about what their lives in The Capitol may be like. At one time she had decided that she would be a stylist, or maybe even a TV personality like Caesar Flickerman. Audrina was a beautiful girl and she had some flirtatious encounters with some of the boys in Ten, but she never found any of them to be worthwhile, or, better yet, she never found any that Colton would approve of. He may have been her little brother, but she was sure that he would have to approve of any man going after her heart.
She, like her brother and her parents, grew up illiterate, but Audrina managed to figure out how to read and understand basic text on her own. Although, that talent didn’t come until after the sudden passing of their mother. Audrina was devastated, but her feelings faltered in comparison to how much of a hit Colt endured. She had to pick herself back up as quickly as she could so that she could be there for her brother. It nearly killed her to see him in so much pain. She would have given anything to make him feel just a little bit better.
They managed to make it, for a little while, at least. The now family of three struggled to make ends meet, and they knew the well being of the animals came first, and according to their father, the lives of his children came next. His sacrifice resulted in malnutrition and organ failure a couple of years later. It was once again time for the kids to pick themselves up and find a way to push through the pain to keep themselves alive.
Much to her disbelief, as Audrina had an awful fear of being reaped for The Games, her name was never chosen. Without fail, she would spend every morning before the reaping fiddling with her hair and her outfit, shaking from nerves and praying that the lump in her throat would go away. For her four final years in the reaping she also had to worry about Colt, especially because he had taken Tesserae so that the two could survive. She couldn’t stand that he did it and would spend many a night crying over it, but there was nothing she could do to stop him. And while she hated that someone had to be chosen, she couldn’t help but allow a silent sigh of relief to slip when neither of their names were read.
That relief came to a screeching halt the following year. The two knew how many times his name was in the bowl, it was 64 times to be exact. Colt seemed to think that it may have been the year, and Audrina would shrug in agreement, but she didn’t want to believe that this nightmare would become a real part of their reality. She would often think, maybe, just maybe, it’ll never happen, perhaps we’ll just be lucky. They weren’t. She was speechless when they read his name. She felt as though all of the blood had been drained from her body. She felt like someone had ripped out her nervous system. She was incapable of feeling anything. The only way of knowing how she felt was the look of complete shock and terror on her face. She remembered a neighbor placing a hand on her shoulder in comfort. She appreciated the gesture, but it didn’t change anything.
The next moments were a blur. They were allowed to say goodbye. Audrina couldn’t stop having to wipe the tears from her eyes, she was trying to save the hysterics for when she was in the comfort of her own home. She needed to be strong for him. He gained a good following among the Capitolites and Sponsors, though. She could at least be thankful for that, and he looked so well in his interview. Well, but terrified. Audrina was sure that no one else could see it, but she knew what every look in her brother’s eyes meant.
She’ll never forget the 67th Hunger Games. She didn’t want to watch any of it, but she had to. She had to know what Colton was doing, at all times if she could. She couldn’t eat, she couldn’t sleep. When she wasn’t watching she was tending to their animals. She tried to put every ounce of energy she had into making sure that their lives went on undisturbed. She got more nervous by the day and dropped at least twenty pounds simply from a lack of an appetite. Their neighbors checked up on her and made sure that she wasn’t wasting away. She knew she had to keep going. Maybe he’ll come home, and it would have been far-fetched for her to say it out loud, no one from District Ten had ever come home.
The closer The Games came to their end, though, the more talking could be heard among the inhabitants of Ten. There was less talk of what it might be like and more talk of what it very well could end up being like. She couldn’t peel her eyes away from the screens in the last moments of the game. She felt sick, so sick, and numb, and downright terrified. She had noticed the friendship he had built with Corvus, and dare she say budding romance, but she was absolutely terrified that he would turn on him in the end. When it was just the two left, Audrina broke. She was standing in one of the markets in Ten when she actually fell to her knees in tears. Uncertainty, that’s all she felt. Complete and utter uncertainty.
But he came home. Corvus took his own life in Colt’s arms and Audrina couldn’t help but feel so much pain for Colt. He really did like the boy, a lot. Her heart hurt for him, but at the same time she was elated to have him home. District Ten finally brought home a Victor. She knew he’d never see it that way, and she wasn’t sure she could ever blame him. She knew she wouldn’t have been able to.
The two moved to Victor’s Village and the years that followed his win were some of the most difficult years of their life. She wasn’t even sure losing their parents compared to the way Colt felt. He dealt with serious bouts of depression and had numerous suicide attempts. Audrina spent some time still caring for the family’s animals – she didn’t want to leave them behind when they moved, but she became almost a full time live in nurse for her brother. She didn’t want to smother him, but she couldn’t leave him alone for any sort of prolonged period of time. The repercussions of winning The Games and The Capitol continually trying to get him to become a mentor had absolutely broken him and she was doing everything to keep him alive.
The 74th Games with the star-crossed lovers of District Twelve changed things just a bit, though. Just like her brother, Audrina had wondered what made their love story so special, what made them so much more meaningful than her brother’s relationship story. She knew why, though. She knew it had to have every bit to do with the sexuality of the lovers, and she knew the thoughts kept Colt up every night.
Their lives changed drastically following the 3rd Quarter Quell. Katniss led them into rebellion and Colt stood up to fight without question. Audrina was a bit more apprehensive, but she jumped in to help wounded soldiers and civilians wherever she was able. She caught on quickly. She spent her life taking care of livestock; tending to wounded ones, delivering babies, and as much as it hurt, slaughtering old ones. Tending to wounded people was much different, but at the same time, not as hard as she initially thought.
The years that followed Katniss’ death completely flipped their lives upside down. For a while Audrina really believed that the rebellion was going to make a difference. She thought that they might all come out on the other side in a better Panem. She was so very wrong. Coin had played them all and no one had seen it coming. The Capitol children Games crushed her soul more so than she thought it might, and The Second Victor’s Purge wasn’t any better. None of it was any better, but growing up where children were expected to kill each other annually sort of desensitized a person.
Colt continued to try to end his life on multiple occasions, but with the help of his own mentor, Audrina was able to intervene every time. She was not about to live in this “New Panem” without him. Not after everything the two had been through, everything that he had been through.
Since arriving to The Capitol, Audrina spends her time working as a nurse, along with keeping a close eye on her brother. She knows that there’s been talk of another rebellion, another attempt at an uprising. She’s not sure that she believes any of it, and she knows that Colt doesn’t, but she’s sure that if she had to she’d step into the role as a nurse for the soldiers in another war.

COLTON COLLINS |  67TH HUNGER GAMES VICTOR | TAKEN
TRAITS:
+ Compassionate, Selfless, Nurturing  - Depressive, Unstable, Suicidal
BIOGRAPHY:
TW: Death, Suicide
Colton Collins thought he was like every District Ten boy. He was raised on a ranch, with a poor family, had a sister that looked after him when his working, struggling parents couldn’t, and learned to ride a horse before he learned to walk. That’s what he thought for a long time, but that’s later on in his story. The handsome young boy grew up to be sort of a eye catch for all of the girls in his District. His charming, boyish smile never got old, but the problem with him was that his family was poorer than most, and his parents were illiterate and couldn’t afford to have either one of their children go to school. While Colton had his looks on his side, he definitely didn’t have any brains to pack with it. He had life experience, but he couldn’t tell you how to write his name. If anyone asked him for a signature now, it would be just a weirdly squiggled line.
The chain of events that led him to where he is today didn’t begin with his Reaping. It began when his mother died. It was very sudden, and no matter how many times people tried to explain it to him, he could never understand. Something about the brain, and stress, and a genetic deformity. He didn’t understand what any of that meant. All he knew was that he was heartbroken, and he had to help his father run their ranch. Only – it wasn’t as easy as it sounded. In order to keep from losing their home, they had to pay the Capitol with their livestock, and to keep that up, they had to pay for the food for them. They could only afford the food for the livestock rather than food for themselves. It resulted in his father’s sacrifice for Audrina and Colton by not eating in order to help his children. That cost him a few years later when Colton was thirteen. He died from malnutrition and organ failure. It left him and his older sister with no one but each other.
They struggled to keep each other alive. When they needed food, they’d slaughter the oldest animal on the ranch to cut up into meat to preserve. It was all they could do. It didn’t help that Colton was starting to feel differently than the other boys. While girls looked at him with interest despite his bad situation, he didn’t quite just look at them. He was looking at boys too. He didn’t tell Audrina in fear of what she’d say. After all, District Ten wasn’t fond of people who didn’t fit the social norms no matter how rich or poor they were. Tessarae was also the option, but after Audrina aged out, it was up to Colton. By the time Colton was sixteen, his name had been in the Reaping bowl 64 times. It was only a matter of time, and his sister cried on a near nightly basis for it. When it came time for the Reaping, they both expected it, so when his name was drawn from the bowl, there was nothing Colton could do to soothe the woes of his wailing sister as he walked numbly to the stage. He didn’t shake hands with his partner. He didn’t do anything. He couldn’t feel anything.
Colton had caught the attention of the world with, once again, his good looks. He was malnourished, but his time in the Capitol had built up his strength, and out came his natural strength that came with working with large animals. People looked to him in interest, but he tried his best to keep his head down. He had quickly become a fan favorite, but he didn’t understand why. What also helped, however, was the fact that he had befriended the boy from District One – Corvus. It wasn’t normal, either. He knew that. Colton befriended the seventeen year old, having him teach him a few things in an effort to help get him onto the career pack due to his strength. Colt didn’t object. In fact, what turned out as just a minor mentorship with the Career turned into a little more than that. It was just days before their launch when Corvus admitted that he found Colt attractive, but he wasn’t sure if he was like everyone else. Colt admitted that he wasn’t, but he wasn’t sure how to go about it. Corvus and Colt experimented that night and Colt confirmed what he thought – he was gay.
When he launched, he had come up in a prison. They were inside of a courtyard, and the intimidating stone walls and fences. The building was large enough that he wasn’t sure what was inside of it, but he was going to find out. He grabbed the nearest pack and ran, not killing anyone in the arena. Thankfully, the nearest pack had a few things, which fortunately, included a pocket knife. He didn’t know where Corvus had gone, but thankfully, he had come across the Career pack not that much later. He joined them immediately. The District Two Careers didn’t like a low-district member there, but District One defended them, including the girl, Shine. Corvus and Shine befriended him and kept him close, and he only went to prove himself when the two from District Six tried to ambush them inside of a corridor in the prison, only for Colton to throw himself between him and Corvus, taking the boy against the wall and shoving the knife through his throat. The girl tried to grab at him, only for Corvus to break her neck in one swift motion.
The Career pack dominated the 67th. Only toward the end, Corvus noticed that the District Two pair was starting to get antsy. It on the sixth day when it was eight tributes left did the two turn on Colt. Only, it didn’t go as planned. Corvus and Shine caught wind of their betrayal and ended up in a mini civil war. Colt was told to hide by Corvus, only for him to hide behind the wall. When the girl broke loose to try and get to him, Colton defended himself in blind panic, bashing her skull hard against the wall, killing her almost instantly when she connected with a corner. It sent the District Two boy in a rage, and ended up killing Shine in the process. Together, Colt and Corvus attacked the boy and ended up pushing him off of the third floor railing and to his death on the ground. It was down to five.
Together, Corvus and Colt ventured through the prison. It was wearing on Colt’s mental state, and every time he thought it would get bad, Corvus would take his hand and tell him everything will be alright. But every time he said it, the longer he did, the more it sounded like defeat.
Corvus took out the next two, and they had to double team the last one – the girl from District 4. She was their toughest opponent, and had gone through the prison on her own. She had already gone crazy from the zombie mutts that hid along the halls, screaming from the cells and grabbing and killing anyone who got too close or were surprised by them. So when they murdered the girl from District Four, it was the two of them left. Colt looked up in fear, wondering if Corvus would turn on him. Only he didn’t. Instead, the boy told him to sit down with him. Colt obliged, and Corvus told him that he had been expecting to win. He was the best back home, but he didn’t want to be if it meant taking the life of someone he cared about. Colt’s eyes had filled with tears when he realized what was going to happen. Colt begged him to just do it, to kill him and end it. He didn’t need to watch him die, only Corvus was slightly stronger, and told him to just hold him. It was then that the boy from District One slit his own throat and gagged and choked on blood. All Colton could do was scream and beg him as he took the boy in his arms and held him while the life bled from him. He won the Games that night, but he never really truly felt like a winner at all.
After the Games, Colt moved to Victor’s Village with his sister. They were wealthy, but Colt forever hid under the shadow of his District’s scrutiny. He had a thing with a man. That was unacceptable. He became a home body for a long time. His whole being was shattered and he couldn’t deal with Corvus’s death. Colt attempted suicide several times over the course of twelve years. The Capitol constantly tried to get him to go back to the Capitol to mentor. After years and years of trying to recover, Colt still said no. He couldn’t deal with the pressure. He spent twelve years hiding away from the phantoms of his past, getting better but his depression did cause a lot of issues. His sister had found him on the floor or attempting to kill himself several times.
To say the least, when Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark changed the game, it changed his perspective of everything, but it didn’t help with the anger toward even the rebels. He didn’t understand why it couldn’t have been done eight years sooner. Why it had to be Katniss and Peeta that inspired a nation to stop the Games. Why it couldn’t have been him and Corvus. Corvus could still be alive if they had, but that didn’t stop Colton from wanting to join the cause. When he did, he really thought that everything could change. That the nightmares would stop, he could get back to his normal life and there would be very little that would cause him strife.
He fought in the war with the other rebels in District Ten, finding a different side of him that he never thought he could bring out since the Games. He killed without remorse during that time and obeyed every command he was given. When it was over with the death of Katniss, he did feel that something was wrong with that. Katniss had led them all. The Mockingjay had freed them. Only she didn’t. She was another victim of another game no one expected to play.
So when the Capitol children were killed in the first new Game, followed by the Second Victor’s Purge, Colt had a mental breakdown. Upon his name being drawn from the bowl to become Mentor, Colt couldn’t handle sending everybody else from his District into the arena. He had attempted to kill himself again, only his own mentor had stopped him, asking him to just keep pushing forward no matter what happened. Colt didn’t know if he could, but Audrina wouldn’t let anything happen to him even if he tried. It was the sad fact of his life that there was a few too many people who cared if he lived or died.
Since then in the last three years, Colt had struggled beneath Coin’s rule. He was a rebel that fought for her and killed for her, and yet he was treated with disdain and hatred. Colt still didn’t find any solace in the fact that his own people did treat him differently despite it all because of his sexuality. Because of that, Colt had lost all hope for any sort of rebellion. He had caved into the fact that evil was everywhere and there was no hope in anything. While he did have his sister, there hasn’t been anybody in his life to give him that hope he once had. So he held onto Corvus’s memory and the blissful thought that in another life, there could’ve been a better world.

Since I’m amazing and totally forgot to update the app count when this application came in, I’m just gonna go ahead and accept it. Plus, like with the two apps the other night, the sooner the character[s] gets to the dash, the more involved with the rp they will be! So here is one more acceptance:
Congratulations, Alisha! You have been accepted as your desired character Lucius Machaut with the face claim Sean Bean! I got super excited to see an application for a Capitolite, and he’s definitely an interesting Capitol citizen. I love the headcanon about his tattoos and in your sample, how he was so particular about the lights hitting hit tattoos the right way-- such little self centered things that someone from The Capitol would consider, it was fun to read! But he also clearly had feelings for Callie Dressal and did everything he could to try and save her in both of her Games. So it’ll be interesting to see him on the dash for sure [especially interactions between him and Paisley]! Please look over the checklist on the guidelines page and send in your account within 24 hours. Happy Hunger Games, and may the odds be ever in your favor.
