Ahmed Aldani @ahmedaldaniii is only 16 years old. His home was destroyed by Israel, and he now lives in a damaged, unsuitable tent with his family of 7. Ahmed is disabled, and his brother is injured.

His family struggles every day for access to clean water and food, due to the scarcity of both driving up prices, as well as needing medicine and a new tent.

If you believe, like I do, that everyone deserves to grow up in safety, then I beg of you to donate to help this child whose safety has been taken from him. Your donation, however much you can give, will directly help him and his family afford these necessities and save their lives.

675 days, we in Gaza have been living through hell on this earth 675 days of relentless bombardment, of rubble that buried our loved ones and our dreams,675 days of repeated displacement until even the tents became too cramped for us, and of final farewells that took family and friends away forever.The war has not only taken our lives,but has stolen the bread from our children’s mouths, silenced their breaths with hunger, and deliberately deprived our sick of medicine doubling the pain until bodies wither before our very eyes.

One of my favourite bits of media history trivia is that back in the Elizabethan period, people used to publish unauthorised copies of plays by sending someone who was good with shorthand to discretely write down all of the play's dialogue while they watched it, then reconstructing the play by combining those notes with audience interviews to recover the stage directions; in some cases, these unauthorised copies are the only record of a given play that survives to the present day. It's one of my favourites for two reasons:

It demonstrates that piracy has always lay at the heart of media preservation; and

Imagine being the 1603 equivalent of the guy with the cell phone camera in the movie theatre, furtively scribbling down notes in a little book and hoping Shakespeare himself doesn't catch you.
