The intimate scene between the ex wife and her new boi toy was literally there to explain her character, she knew gong yoo followed her, she knew he was watching them when she touched her husbands face outside of the gate and she knew he would be standing outside that's why she was enjoying that. She literally gets turn on by the fact that gong yoo's character needs her (ep 2) and then gets bothers when he mentions that he is bother by the new girl meaning In ji presence is making some changes in him that Seo yeon doesn't want. I am still at ep 3 so if the why but she's clearly punishing/ torturing him for something and she needs him to be forever depend on him emotionally, (the scene in ep 2 where he was so proud to tell her he slept without the pills and she immediately rejects the idea of normalcy by telling him that sometimes he can sleep without pills so that doesn't mean he's getting better, also the previous scene where she was literally frustrated over the fact that he slept without pills and In ji told her that)
So curious about all the WHYS but I think so far (ep 3) they have done an amazing job portraying the characters and the whole dynamics of the cast (for as far as they have reveled the relations between cast I mean)
I watched the first ep of The Trunk and no thanks.
Like every show made by Netflix (instead of one made by some other channel/company and bought by Netlfix), it's an American show in Korean. No thanks.
PS I am no prude and don't mind sex scenes but why was the random sex scene between ex-wife and her dude there? Like - there was no narrative or character or any other point, it was the definition of gratuitous and that just made it pathetic in its needy vulgarity of trying to go "see see see we are mature." That's only viewed as mature in middle school.

The cast of The Trunk was already marvelous, but adding Jung Kyoung Ho as a cameo in episode 3!!! They said get us all the high class actors and I respect that
Also, idk if we are gonna explore Lee ki woo' character (in Ji's ex) more in the later half of the show , but watching him on the screen is also so <33333

No gain No love you are so loved by me<3333 THE WAY JIUK CALLS HER WIFE!!!, buying the ring, running to defend her, being a loser in love, just everything works in this drama! + The unseriousness of certain scenes works out so well for NGNL, everytime you think we are getting a typical kdrama scene, here comes the comedy! IK the mainleads will have some angst later in the episodes when shin minah 6 out that he knew her all along, but till then GIVE ME THE ACTUAL SILLY ROM COM <33
gyuhyun calling jiuk 'lucifer' oh I need them to become best friend idc

their last few conversations and the dad's letter and then the post credit scene had me sobbing to the point where I was just speaking to the screen "why are you doing this to me?"
Yes this was sad because of how inevitable it(everything) was, I just wish everyone can have that one last hug where you assure eo yall be fine, no matter how miserable life is.
Us and Them (2018) dir. Rene Liu
The broken elevator story where jianqing tells xiaoxiao that only an interesting story can help them climb [the stairs] faster reminds me of when he once told her how misfortune, not happiness, is a story and how she responded with, ‘Then I don’t want to have a story with you.’ Ultimately, THEIR own misfortune has led to jianqing reaching his dreams and finally making it in beijing. The beauty of this film, really, is just in the inevitability of everything. We knew all along that jianqing and xiaoxiao have broken up, but what makes it so tragic and heart-wrenching nonetheless? It’s because estrangement & fallouts are just as inevitable in the real world. Some people are transitory and are just momentarily present in our lives to help us become better people, and no matter how much we try imagining a future with them or try our best not to hurt them, everything eventually leads to where it must lead to. Not even our greatest what-ifs could change that. And so, the kindest gesture we can really do for them and ourselves is to apologize, to forgive, and to wish them better and brighter days— even if those days no longer involve us.
