Some cool stuff for anyone who may be interested in the linguistics of Hydaelyn: Dalmascan is its own separate language, in addition to the dead language of High Ivalician! The Warrior of Light is able to understand both through the Echo.

Q'dhen begrudgingly gets out of bed - well, parts of his body were already out of it, but details. Day 2 of being forcibly changed from a 5'5 Miqo'te to a 7'1 Au Ra, and he does not like it. Not one bit. He drags himself to the bathroom to wash his face. His hair is more-or-less the same length, but it feels different and he has no idea what it's doing. It's also harder to style with the horns - ears? - in the way. He accidentally brushes his comb against them and it feels like nails against glass. -
He waddles himself to the kitchen - still unsure how to carry his height. The upper cabinets are closer to him now, but the stove is so far below it's disorienting. He makes himself jump by dropping a pan on the stove from too high up, still stumbling with his new depth perception. "Shite, I can't cook like this." -
He bumps his forehead for the third time that day, and snarls, annoyed. -
Phrases that have now become all-too-common: "I can't bloody sleep." "I'm not used to being 2 fulms taller, godsdammit!" (Growling noises, different from his usual.) -
He looks to his side - then down, remembering he has to look down at practically everyone now - to look at Cuan'to sitting next to him. How are you managing? he was asked. He doesn't know. He starts speaking of what he feels. "My hearing feels strange since--" he grabs his horns, "I hear through these. Everything sounds vaguely different and it's very difficult to describe." Muffled? "Not muffled at all, but it's-- there is a slight change in pitch." "And having scales just feels--" he stops himself when he scratches at the edge of the scales on his arm, shuddering. It's just bizarre and he doesn't like it. -
He sits down - with a surprised expression, as it takes a little longer to actually sit due to longer limbs. Misjudging distance, even with something as simple as this? He places his face in his hands and sighs loudly, tiredly. He hopes this is fixed soon.

Things I learned from the French Conjurer quests:
As I was reminded, conjurers are élémentalistes (elementalists).
The Hearers are called druides (druids).
The elementals are just esprits (spirits).
The sprites we fight are élémentaires (elementals).
The Wood Wailers are les vigiles sombres (the dark vigils).
Gods’ Quiver Bow is Flèche Divine (Divine Arrow).
The Stillglade Fane (where the conjurer's guild is located) is le Temple De La Sérénité (the Temple of Serenity) (a Fane is a temple).
The Shroud is just la Forêt (Forest).
The Treespeak Stables is l'écurie des murmures (the stable of whispers).
Fullflower Comb is le rucher de Pleinefleur (the apiary of Fullflower) (an apiary is a bee colony, so Comb works).
Sweetbloom Pier is la jetée du Bouquet (the pier of Bouquet).
The Twelveswood is la Sylve, which...isn't a word by itself, as far as I can tell? It may come from a word like sylvestre, which is a word for the forest or woodlands (which the Twelveswood basically is).
Raise is Vie (Life). Fluid Aura is Aura aquatique (Aquatic Aura). Cure is Soin (Care) (the JP name for Cure); Cure II is Extra Soin.

In Nature’s Embrace - French Translation
(stumbles in months later) Hey! The level 30 Conjurer quest, In Nature’s Embrace / L’éveil (Awakening), is here!
Bold = English localization/text.
Plain = French localization/text.
Italics = my translation of the French text.
E-Sumi-Yan: Ah, [PLAYER]–your presence here is most welcome. I have another task to which your maturing skills are well suited. Attend me closely.
E-Sumi-Yan: You could not have come at a better time. I have just the urgent job to entrust you with.
E-Sumi-Yan: Expansive wounds that ooze corruption have formed throughout the forest. After examining the traces of the sizable disturbance you previously cleansed, I can only conclude that this phenomenon is the work of a malign agent.
E-Sumi-Yan: I had a long talk with the Elementals about the corruptions that pollute the Twelveswood. On reflection, I came to the conclusion that this is not a natural phenomenon, but the consequence of an elemental transgression.
E-Sumi-Yan: It must be found swiftly, lest the corruption spread, and I would have you assist in the investiga–
E-Sumi-Yan: I need you to help me determine the source of this problem. Could you go to Quarrymill and–
Sylphie: Guildmaster! You must let me help!
Sylphie: Attendez ! Moi aussi, je veux vous aider !
Sylphie: Wait! I want to help you too!
E-Sumi-Yan: Sylphie?
E-Sumi-Yan: Sylphie!
Sylphie: Since I got back from the South Shroud, I've spent all my time studying the forces of nature! I even sat through one of Hearer Nolanel's lectures!
Sylphie: Master E-Sumi, listen! I’ve learned the three great elements! I’ve attended the classes of Sister Wulfiue and Brother Joacin...I even managed to listen to Brother Nolanel to the end, without falling asleep!
Sylphie: The Twelveswood is crying out in pain. My skills are still a bit...lacking...in some areas, but I want to do what I can for the forest.
Sylphie: Of course, I’m only starting out in the field, but I want to make myself useful and protect nature!
E-Sumi-Yan: Lacking? Sylphie, you have yet to master a single offensive spell. Without the means to defend yourself, it would be far too dangerous to send you off into the forest alone.
E-Sumi-Yan: Yes, you were initiated by my hearer comrades, but you still cannot borrow the power of nature, correct? You understand that I certainly cannot send you on a mission alone if that is the case.
Sylphie: ...So I am to stay here, then?
Sylphie: Ah... Oui, vous avez raison...
Sylphie: Ah...Yes, you are right...
E-Sumi-Yan: Not necessarily...
E-Sumi-Yan: Come now, don’t look so downhearted. I just said I could not send you alone. That does not mean you can’t go with someone.
E-Sumi-Yan: [PLAYER], with your consent, I would have Sylphie accompany you once more.
E-Sumi-Yan: [PLAYER], would you mind teaming up with Sylphie?
E-Sumi-Yan: I do not propose this arrangement solely with her safety in mind. Given the nature of the investigation, it is like that Sylphie's innate talent for hearing will prove as useful to you as your conjury will to her. There is much you might accomplish together.
E-Sumi-Yan: I'm well aware that she still lacks experience, but Sylphie has the gift of hearing the whispers of the Elementals, and I'm sure her talent will be of great help to you.
E-Sumi-Yan: Sylphie–you are not to approach any sources of corruption without [PLAYER] at your side. Do I make myself clear?
E-Sumi-Yan: As for you, Sylphie, I forbid you to approach the corruptions that you will see. Let [PLAYER] take care of it.
E-Sumi-Yan: And should you chance to encounter the origin of these disturbances, do not initiate a confrontation. Too often, you allow your curiosity to overwhelm your good sense. Now go, and may the elementals watch over you.
E-Sumi-Yan: I will also ask you not to venture too deeply into the Twelveswood, even for the best of reasons. I tell you this often, but you are too curious for your own good! I do not want you to take unnecessary risks.
Sylphie: I... Yes, Guildmaster.
Sylphie: D... D'accord...
Sylphie: A...Alright...
Sylphie: Something tells me we should start at Quarrymill in the South Shroud. Meet me there as soon as you can, [PLAYER]. And hurry–the corruption is spreading!
Sylphie: Let's go to Quarrymill, [PLAYER]! Let's eradicate the corruptions and save the Twelveswood!
-
Sylphie: There's the tainted soil, [PLAYER]. Please do what you can.
Sylphie: Look, [PLAYER], there’s a corruption right here! I'll let you take care of it.
Sylphie: That was brilliant, [PLAYER]! But it was only the start. The forest still groans in pain–I can hear it.
Sylphie: Bravo !
Sylphie: Bravo! But I'm afraid our work isn’t done yet. The forest suffers...I can hear its cries...
Sylphie: I think it's coming from...the north–no, the northeast. Let's go and have a look.
Allons voir !
Sylphie: The Elementals tell me that there’s something northeast of here... Let's go see!
-
Sylphie: More corrupted soil. Over to you.
Sylphie: Corrupted soil...as I thought. Your turn, [PLAYER].
Sylphie: You're doing really well, [PLAYER]...but I think there's another one. And, well...it calls to me even more fervently than the last.
Sylphie: That's two! While you were fighting, I felt the presence of another corruption, even greater than this one.
Sylphie: It's to the east, I think. Yes, to the east.
Allons voir.
Sylphie: I think it’s coming from the east... Let's go see.
-
Sylphie: Right there, [PLAYER]. This corruption is everywhere...
Sylphie: More corrupted soil?! There are definitely a lot here... I’ll let you take care of it, but be careful. It’s releasing really harmful energy.
Sylphie: Nice work, the earth here feels healed. And yet...
Sylphie: The earth has found its equilibrium here, but there is something that bothers me...
Sylphie: There's another disturbance. And it's big. Really big. It's hard to describe, but it feels...sort of...wrong-er. I think... I think it might be what's causing all of this.
Sylphie: I have the impression that there is a corruption infinitely greater than all the ones we have seen so far... I don’t know how to describe this sensation... It’s as if the air was inhabited by a demonic force...
Sylphie: I know Brother E-Sumi said we weren't to confront it, but we can't just let it corrupt the rest of the forest. And however powerful it is, it can't be any more powerful than you. You're...well...you're amazing. Wh-What I mean to say is, I'm willing to risk a scolding if you are!
Sylphie: E-Sumi-Yan insisted that we shouldn’t take risks, but I don’t intend to turn back. We will probably be scolded, but at least we will have done our duty.
Sylphie: It's not far from here–somewhere to the southeast, I think. Shall we at least have a closer look?
Sylphie: Are you coming with me, [PLAYER]? It's just nearby, heading southeast!
-
Sylphie: I don't think you need to be able to hear the voices of the forest to notice that, do you, [PLAYER]?
Sylphie: Dis, [PLAYER]... Toi aussi, tu ressens cette énergie négative ?
Sylphie: Say, [PLAYER]...do you also feel that negative energy?
Sylphie: The corruption is definitely coming from somewhere around here.
Sylphie: I believe that this place is the source of the elemental distortions.
Sylphie: Hmmm...that's odd. As soon as we arrived, that sense of wrongness I had suddenly felt less...well...it just felt less.
Sylphie: But it's bizarre... The malicious aura I felt was gone the moment we set foot here.
Sylphie: It's almost as if it's holding its breath. Or hiding.
Sylphie: I have the unpleasant feeling of being watched...
Sylphie: Do you see that? Just in that one spot, there–the air seems...wrong.
Sylphie: Hmm, c'est étrange... L'air circule différemment à cet endroit... Je me demande pourquoi...
Sylphie: Hmm, it's strange... The air circulates differently here...I wonder why...
Sylphie: Aaah!
Sylphie: Aaaah !
-
Sylphie: This creature is a voidsent! I've heard Brother E-Sumi speak of them!
Sylphie: Je reconnais ce monstre ! C'est Akoman, une créature du néant !
Sylphie: I recognize this monster! It's Akoman, a creature of the void!
Sylphie: Be careful, [PLAYER]! You'll be paralyzed if you meet its gaze!
Sylphie: Don’t look at its eyes, or you’ll be paralyzed!
Sylphie: It's drawing power from the corruption! We have to cleanse the disturbance first!
Sylphie: Akoman sucks the energy out of the corrupted soil! Eradicate it before it regains all its strength!
Sylphie: The corruption attracts the worst kind of monsters!
Sylphie: Attention, [PLAYER] ! Il a attiré des imps !
Sylphie: Be careful, [PLAYER]! It attracted imps!
Sylphie: The power of nature is so incredible! I feel like I can do anything!
Sylphie: I think I understand the trick to borrow the power of nature!
-
Sylphie: Heh. Heh heh. Ahahahahaha!
Sylphie: Ha ha... Ha ha ha ha ha !
Sylphie: Isn't it amazing, [PLAYER]?
Sylphie: C'est incroyable, [PLAYER] !
Sylphie: It’s amazing, [PLAYER]!
Sylphie: Did the breeze always feel this good?
Sylphie: I had no idea the breeze could be so nice!
Sylphie: Was the ground always this warm?
Sylphie: And the ground...is so soft.
Sylphie: I'm so glad I finally understand.
Sylphie: I finally understand...I finally understand how beautiful nature is.
Sylphie: I just wish I could tell my mother how incredible nature feels.
Sylphie: Ah, I wish I could share this joy and these feelings with you, Mother...
Sylphie: Oh, you're injured. Here.
Sylphie: Tu es blessé(e).
Sylphie: You’re injured.
Sylphie: Don't worry–healing doesn't drain me anymore.
Sylphie: Don’t worry, I won’t faint this time.
Sylphie: Not since I learned how to borrow from nature.
Sylphie: I can borrow the power of nature now.
Sylphie: And I have you to thank for that, [PLAYER].
Merci. Merci du fond du cœur !
Sylphie: And it’s all thanks to you, [PLAYER]. Thank you. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart!
Sylphie: Let's return to the guild. We have to explain everything to Brother E-Sumi.
Sylphie: Well, how about we return to the guild? Let's tell Master E-Sumi the good news!
-
E-Sumi-Yan: Welcome back, [PLAYER], Sylphie.
E-Sumi-Yan: Ah ! Vous revoilà, tou(te)s les deux.
E-Sumi-Yan: Ah! You’re back, both of you.
Sylphie: Our mission was a success, Guildmaster.
Sylphie: Nous avons éliminé toutes les corruptions !
Sylphie: We have eliminated all of the corruptions!
E-Sumi-Yan: Quite. I take it the two of you conspired to defy my orders?
E-Sumi-Yan: I know. I also know that you did not follow my instructions. Did I not forbid you from taking unnecessary risks?
Sylphie: W-Well...the forest was suffering! We couldn't just walk away...
Sylphie: T-that...the forest was crying...I wanted to free it from its suffering at all costs!
Sylphie: It's not [PLAYER]'s fault! It's mine. It was all my idea. I take full responsibility!
Sylphie: Please don’t scold [PLAYER]. It was I who insisted that (s)he accompany me to the source!
E-Sumi-Yan: Calm yourself, child.
E-Sumi-Yan: Rest assured, I have no intention of lecturing you – neither [PLAYER] nor you.
E-Sumi-Yan: You did nothing I did not foresee. I am of no mind to lecture you.
E-Sumi-Yan: I'm getting to know both of you. I knew that you would go all the way, even disobey and put yourself in danger.
E-Sumi-Yan: Indeed, Gridania is indebted to you for your heroic deeds. The corruption born of Akoman had taken root in the Calamity-weakened soil–there is no telling how much further it might have spread if you had not defeated the creature.
E-Sumi-Yan: The monster at the root of these corruptions took advantage of the Calamity-weakened soil to infiltrate and call upon its kind. Akoman is a formidable opponent; eliminating it could not have been easy. For that, I congratulate both of you.
E-Sumi-Yan: And if I am not mistaken, Sylphie, you succeeded in drawing upon the energies of nature during the battle.
E-Sumi-Yan: Sylphie, it seems like you've finally managed to borrow the power of nature.
Sylphie: How did you–? Yes. Yes, I did. I'm not really sure how it happened. I remember thinking how badly I wanted to help [PLAYER], and then I suddenly felt the power surging through me.
Sylphie: I don’t know what happened; I did it without even realizing it... I wanted to help [PLAYER] in the fight, and it was like I transcended.
E-Sumi-Yan: That is as it should be. One does not simply choose to borrow from nature's strength. The mind may command only that which the heart permits. In your desperation to help your friend, you opened your heart to nature, and nature responded to your need.
E-Sumi-Yan: It’s pointless to look for a logical reason. You have opened yourself to nature and nature has opened itself to you. It's as simple as that.
E-Sumi-Yan: Ah, but we must not forget your part in this, [PLAYER]. It is clear to me that your journey with Sylphie has brought you still closer to the pinnacle of our art.
E-Sumi-Yan: As for you, [PLAYER]...you have made tremendous progress since last time. You are now an accomplished conjurer.
E-Sumi-Yan: I believe you are ready for the last of my teachings. Thus it is with great pleasure that I pass on another of our guild's magicks–a more potent form of the Cure spell is now yours to command.
E-Sumi-Yan: The "Cure II" spell is the last thing you will learn under my tutelage.
E-Sumi-Yan: I have no doubt that it will serve you well in your continuing endeavors. Wheresoever you go, nature will go with you, my friend. Ever shall the earth meet your footfall, and the wind guide your path.
E-Sumi-Yan: This does not mean that your journey is over; quite the contrary. You must continue to perfect your art and serve nature. Never forget that it constantly watches over you, wherever you are. Serve it well.
