Cathy Wade, Children Own The City, commissioned for The Festival of the Lea. This project invited children at Raynham Primary School to consider how the city will develop by the River Lea between 2038-2048. The children will inherit their lived environment from adults in the future but what happens if they inherit it now?
What will this forthcoming city look like and how do they want to live by the waterway?
The models the children made in their workshops were presented in a pavilion next to Chalk Bridge fabricated & installed by Bloqs that responds to and showcases their vision for the future. Their models included Cat Cafes, Spas, Library and Activity Centres, Hospitals, Museums and Supermarkets, spaces for health, leisure and learning.
Part of Hinterlands 2023-24 in partnership with Raynham Primary School. Activities were funded by Canal & River Trust,People’s Postcode Lottery Arts Council England and Enfield Council
