he takes a moment , leans back against the wall and uses the opportunity to take in the newcomer - he is wary by nature , more than aware that you could make an enemy out of anyone should one party decide they wanted to be … less than civil.

nikolai tenses ; there’s something familiar about this man. no way. “ you … you’re an ability , aren’t you ? ” a grin , almost wolfish in nature. though they so often blend in , abilities always had a … knack for finding one another. “ surely your host must despise your attitude , no ? ”

“ Well, if you hoped to meet someone from here, you’re out of luck currently, I’m a foreigner. I think people here are nicer than me. " Well, definitely most of them & not only in this place, are anyway. & the comment about his look felt unnecessary, he was well aware that bruises & bandages... didn’t give best impression. With sigh his hand ran through his hair, with mumbled “ thank you, I guess. “ even if it wasn’t compliment at all.

He took a moment to get a better look at person in front of him. Didn’t look much out of ordinary- yet after hearing question there was brief moment of surprise on his face. How would he- Oh, did he face another ability? Well, there weren’t many other choices outside of them to assume such things anyway. Even abilities holders wouldn’t probably go for such guesses. At least if there’s no other people around

“ Mhmm, I guess so are you then? “ There was no point in hiding, so might as well entertain other, though next question did annoy him a bit. “ I assume he might be annoyed, but also he’s not really one to fight himself & there weren’t many complaints. After stretch with freshly bandaged hands, Dupin walked out of alley. Probably shouldn’t get into fights, considering they’re in this city for reason, but on the other side, Poe isn’t one to fight himself - few knuckles in pain shouldn’t affect his ability to write much.

Still, soon he noticed another person standing. Definitely not with the guys he argued prior, yet definitely he had to catch other’s attention. Hands went into pockets as he turned towards him & spoke up.

There were mostly annoyed mutterings under his breath, as he walked around the city. Usually he doesn’t mind things like that if it wasn’t for fact that he was completely lost. Dupin was still pretty unfamiliar with city & losing Poe there did not help at all.

With a defeated sigh he approached other, hand soon placed on shoulder, with light tap, to catch his attention.
