frankly very tired of hearing ‘you’re unhappy on this earth because our true home is in heaven!’ or ‘loneliness is the God-shaped hole in your life!’ or anything to that extent. first of all it feels very irresponsible to encourage the idea that it’s normal for people to feel miserable all the time and only death can cure that. second of all you can do everything right in matters of faith and still be in desperate want of companionship that leaves you hardly able to function. even from the perspective of a devout catholic it is not appropriate to respond to someone’s depression by acting like religion is an easy fix

You know for the first 18-ish years of your life everyone your age is mostly doing the same things and then all of a sudden every year for the rest of your life somebody your age is getting divorced while somebody else just learned what a leaf is and you have no idea what’s going on or what you’re supposed to be doing

"love your neighbor as yourself" is the second greatest commandment. "love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind" is the first. i think some people get it reversed and that's why they get so offended when Christians put God first

They should invent a life that’s structured without being monotonous and challenging without being demanding and eventful without being stressful and peaceful without being boring

Emotional chastity is such a stupid concept. I mean, don't entertain weird fantasies or entrust your expectations on any human person, but the feelings that are rightfully yours can be freely given to whoever you want. I saw a catholic blogger saying that she was "so bad at emotional chastity at that time that I screamed in excitement when I got his message that he liked me back". What a boring life where you can't even freak out by yourself. Fall in love, break your heart, pick up the pieces, do it again; hearts love better when they're a little bit worn out anyways.
