spoilers for season 2 and the finale of it for school spirits

not to blab about xavier baxter again (sorry expect it’s going to happen time and time again) - but…

i’m so intrigued by the future interactions him and maddie will have now that she’s back in her body again- (i know most of us are sort of unhappy with it- because of the found family she found within the group at the school)

like how does he even tell her about being able to see her dead father and the reason for why that is??

just like “so i can see your dad? i don’t really know how that is but i think it may have to do with not breathing for a few minutes- oh why? um- well i was run over by y- janet with my own truck because she stole it and i may have died on the hospital bed”-

and also what is the status of their comfortability with one another because of everything that went down with them? i don’t think xavier would be able to just admit that to her causally with all the guilt he has with what he did just before she “died” and also how is maddie supposed to interact with her ex when they’ve never officially had a conversation about breaking up though it’s clear they would be and she’s gotten over him (+ loves wally obviously whether people want to admit that or not) -

and we know how badly xavier wants to apologize to her- and how embarrassed he was when he wasn’t able to get the words out when simon was trying to have him talk to her-

(and with the weird friendship with nicole and how they formed a connection sort of through their grief over maddie???)

not to mention that it would take a lot of time for maddie to be able to be comfortable with being able to communicate with everyone of the alive crew again because she’d gotten used to not being able to talk to them again + grew so close with charley, rhonda, especially wally, etc. or that she’s not used to the newer dynamics of the group as a whole- when she was in her own body last, simon hated xavier, and they’re probably the closest duo in that group now? (other than nicole and claire probably- which is also so new to maddie)

season 3 will be so interesting just based on that. and i know people prefer the ghost crew than the alive crew but it’s guaranteed that everyone’s stories won’t just end where season 2 leaves everyone off- there’s no way-

there’s something to be said about the way that xavier quite literally got run over and flatlined and died for a few minutes- from the cause of janet in maddie’s body and him not caring about himself in that sense or in the slightest and saying he deserved worse than that by maddie herself to then be the one adamantly refusing to even tighten the rope to maddie’s wrists because he didn’t want to hurt maddie’s body when it was still janet that was in her physical body-

mr. andersen being the MVP so far in this school spirits finale,,, his monologue to mr. martin, getting his body back, finding out the cops think he stole a car and just going "cool!" n leaving...

there's a lot of things to be screaming about but i can't stop think about xavier pleading for his dad to be a dad for once and sheriff baxter later admitting to sandra later that he keeps, intentionally or not, hurting xavier. i need to study these two under a goddamn microscope

lucas sinclair was the real victim of season 4 he lost all his friends and the girl he loved was suicidal and he couldnt do anything to help her and he was brutally assaulted by a grown man and in this essay i will-

all i’m saying is that if i had a nickel for every time i fell for a character that wasn’t well loved enough in a fandom to the point where there’s no fics for them- unfortunately i’d have a lot of nickels :/

i am neither team jacob or team jeremiah, i want better for them and even from them- they certainly have their faults but ultimately i can tell they do not belong with bella or belly- being second best and undervalued by the one you’re dating is not the serve some people think it is. you’re rooting for something first that’s not attainable, and then worst of all- you’re ok with either guy settling for something that is not worth all their heartache and anguish because it’s bound to not work out when the one they’re with will always want someone else more- that’s horrible- no matter how you could spin it.
