In honour of my autistic Flynn fic, have some headcanons:

Hip-hop is Flynn’s biggest special interest, as in the music but also the overall subculture

She also has a special interest in music history, which obviously overlaps with the hip-hop one but extends to other genres as well

She usually can pick up on sarcasm (she grew up with Carrie as a friend and that is a hill I will die on) but when she’s tired or emotional it takes a lot more effort and she’ll miss things that might seem obvious to other people

When she skips the spirit rally, it’s not just because of Julie or to avoid Carrie - she’s avoiding sensory overload, because she’s extra prone to it when already stressed out

This one comes straight from my fic, but she always wants some kind of organized sound playing, music or a show/movie - just enough noise to be a stim she can focus on without getting overwhelming

Her wardrobe is a lot of soft comfort items and dangly jewelery for stimming; Julie’s wardrobe is similar in part because Julie knows on some level that Flynn prefers to hug her when she’s wearing certain things and likes to mess with certain accessories, and they’re glued at the hip enough it just makes sense for Julie to accommodate that

A lot of Flynn’s apparent issues making friends with people who aren’t Julie (see: her speech about losing Julie and not making new friends) come from the fact that she has trouble understanding them and they her - this isn’t so much about autism as it is how people react to autistic people but hey this one has always been huge for me and I would like to Project
