Hey look, Biden pardoned his son and the media is going wall-to-wall in its coverage. Yeah, this is exactly what's wrong with our country right now. SHORT RANT (TM)?
WHAT HAPPENED?
So, for those who missed it, President Biden has officially pardoned his son Hunter. Media coverage of this is wall-to-wall today, it's the front page story on every single national news website. But, of course, that's not the whole story here or I wouldn't be calling it "what's wrong with our country".
Obviously it's getting reported as unequal justice, but let's look at what led to it in the first place. As reported at the time, the firearms charges that he was charged with and convicted of are charges that are almost never charged if they are the only ones that can be proven. In other words, far from being unequally pardoned of common crimes, the younger Biden is being pardoned of crimes that no ordinary person would have been charged with in the first place.
Let's face it, Biden wouldn't have needed a pardon if his dad hadn't been president. I'm a father myself and, if my kid was facing jail time as a result of something I did and I had the power to undo that, I'd undo it without a second thought and who cares about the consequences. Good luck finding a headline or even a full article in the American media today that provides all of that detail.
THE COVERAGE
The most responsible coverage reports this in the context of how it will provide an example for Trump to point to about how justice in this country is unequal/political, which, sure? Of course, that coverage (1) doesn't mention the context that I described above and (2) largely ignores Trump's own massive politicization of justice for the benefit of himself and his cronies.
The less responsible coverage, FOX News for example, simply reports it as an outrage the likes of which has never happened in American history and provides no other context whatsoever. As I said, I expect this from FOX, but the issue is how much this particular framing has leeched out into the broader media ecosystem because we've all forgotten the lessons of 2016 in which we should have learned that FOX and right-wing media in general must largely be tuned out if you want to report accurate news.
WHY IT'S A PROBLEM
Look, I'm all for being outraged that Biden is doing something like this, but are you only outraged at Biden? Where was this outrage when Trump pardoned major political supporters, campaign staff, and political advisors? Where was the outrage when he pardoned 7 Congressmen who had supported him politically? Where was the outrage when he pardoned wealthy individuals who had paid tens of thousands of dollars for those pardons? Where was the outrage when he promised to issue a blanket pardon to those who attempted to overthrow our Constitution and our democracy on January 6th, 2021? Where was the outrage when he talked about pardoning HIMSELF for the myriad of crimes that he has committed and been charged with?
If we're going to talk about unequal justice, let's talk about unequal justice, but at this point it seems like there is more outrage for people who take actions that might feed into Trump's misguided narratives than there is for Trump himself.
When Democrats talk about a double standard, this is it; Democrats are held to an impossible standard of perfection because any perceived misstep might give fuel to Trump's outrageous lies while Trump himself is able to do just about anything with only the barest of peeps. It's a double-standard that's guaranteed to make even the most perfect Democrat look as bad as Trump to the casual observer even as he wallows in corruption, bigotry, and criminality.
That's what's wrong with our country right now, we can't accurately get across the scale of atrociousness that Trump commits on a daily basis because we're too focused on making sure that those opposing him meet an impossible standard of purity before we're willing to even look at him. No problem can be fixed until the person who needs to fix it can put a name to the problem and describe it and the American media seems to be committed to making sure that we are never able to understand where the problem actually lies and what it actually is.
Until that changes, be prepared for American politics to sink deeper and deeper into the muck and mire of Trumpian corruption.

So was principal grix after rueben because he put together that rueben was connected to the teachers death. And someone was hip to that and was counting on the bad kids to take him out.

OUT NOW ON DROPOUT
Last week, the debate over whether grape jelly would taste good on a breakfast sandwich nearly tore the Intrepid Heroes apart.
On today’s Adventuring Party, the matter is settled once and for all…

I freaking adore Ossan's Love, and their ability to write about being older on your love journey through Haruta and Maki, and how heartwarming and sometimes bittersweet it all is. You know when your young love is all you need, it's a strength that overcomes all obstacles. But, as we get older, we start thinking along the lines of, is that it, is being in love all we have. And it's troubling, daunting, scary, and frustrating to think about your future after the clouds have settled and realize you can't see a foundation. But its okay because Haruta and Maki love each other, but more importantly, they support each other, try their best to understand the other, communicate, and support each other. They laugh, and cry, and play together.
Our true "kiss the groom" moment came right as those two assured in their relationship, confident that despite their differences, they'll make it through, hand in hand, took one single step in complete unison through those double doors!
I freaking love them so much. 😍 I'm grinning like a fool. Just 😭

Ok but like. What the fuck is there to do on the internet anymore?
Idk when I was younger, you could just go and go and find exciting new websites full of whatever cool things you wanted to explore. An overabundance of ways to occupy your time online.
Now, it's just... Social media. That's it. Social media and news sites. And I'm tired of social media and I'm tired of the news.
Am I just like completely inept at finding new things or has the internet just fallen apart that much with the problems of SEO and web 3.0 turning everything into a same-site prison?

Yes! Also Louis is trapped. He can not leave that tower but Armand can. Louis can still be hurt by the sun. How much is self inflicted I'm not sure but it screams of someone shutting down and giving up their autonomy as a way to cope. But its not healthy either. Armand controls ever aspect of Louis current life under the guise of protection. Ehh armands hovering in the background is a bit more sinister now. Always waiting to step in to approve or disapprove anything Louis does.
Seems like iwtv is going to tackle all the realms of relationships abuse!
That bookshelf placing IS symbolic
No, but think: Nicki was Lestat’s first love. And what did Nicki love to do? Play his violin.
And what did Armand do to Nicki, when he was allegedly acting unstable? Cut off his hands. And then Armand locked Nicki in a tower.
And now we have Louis, Lestat’s immortal love. And what does Louis love to do? Read.
And what has Armand done to Louis? Make those books in the library not so easily accessible for someone who doesn’t have the cloud gift. And has Louis up in a nice high-rise “tower” apartment (It is clearly Armand’s apartment, not Louis’).
And before someone says it, there was no ladder in that room. Do you really think Louis could just bring one in there without Armand knowing? And something tells me those two bookshelves aren’t the only ones in that room. Something tells me there might be even more bookshelves above the two that we can see.
Doing things like this with men whom Lestat loves is something Armand does. The show having the bookcase like that is a clear parallel IMO.

Ok on my second rewatch of the season finale I noticed that Armand continues to float in the air when Louis announces Armand is the love of his life. They're not standing on equal footing. Armand is literally above him. Omg! Louis there is still a power imbalance going on here. You've traded sideways.. no improvement at all.

Are we chronicling a suicide because both Armand and Louis know lestat is alive somewhere and by virtue of telling Daniel this story who is not hopped up on drugs will now be actively thinking about lestat Louis etc.. thus enabling lestat to seek out Louis and you know revenge. Because he can pin piont daniels thoughts.
Louis isn't trapped in dubai its a tower of defense against lestat coming after him.. I'm am reeling from the seasonal finale. It's not about a vampire war. Daniel rightfully called he bs out. This was a confessional this therapy so that louis can finally move on from lestat be committed to Armand. No wonder Armand was always hovering around in the background. he's being petty and jealous because Louis is simping over lestat in dramatic detail. Lolol
The fans called it. Rashid was Armand.

Okay I noticed there's a camera flash on Simon in the second gif. I didn't notice this while watching but its only on Simon. Think it could be possible foreshadowing the media fallout that is coming. And let's be real it will mostly focus in on Simon because he's just a regular person. They're going to dig up, scandalize, demonize, and sensationalize every aspect of who he is and what his family has gone through. Just because he is the boy the crown prince fell in love with. Omg season 3.

Some thoughts about young royals season 2
1. Sara is in fact the older sister... but is often times treated like a child. I was always on board with her Romantizing living at school. But it kind of hits a bit different when you think that she's taking the opportunity to feel a bit more normal but also more independent. Trying to make her own decisions for once since no one has faith that's she can stand on her own. Despite being book smart and capable.
2. This is the walk a mile in my shoes season and no one is happy.
3. Marcus is cute by my standards but the boy doesn't listen. Get out of here with that therapy session no one asked for. Gross.
5. Ayub is a cutie pie and such a great best friend.
6. To much pizza. Teens eat more then pizza. But also like its kind of cheap and feeds a group easily so I get that. Lol I felt that. I love how these teens feel like teens.
7. They're doing homework. You never see it in teen shows.
8. Please give felice more to do beside cheerlead. She's half black and the show balantly shows how much her family and the school wants her to confirm to their white standards. Her not wanting to wear that dumb wig.. and the ponytail scene. The head lady only addresses felice not the other girl. I'm not saying her storyline should only be about being black, but she is. But she also does have an identity crisis just like Wilhelm. Let's continue that thanks.
9. Felice lies a lot to get out of obligation because she's not happy and comfortable with the pressure he mom and peers put on her.
10. Alexandr.. I'm so curious. Like clearly he has money. He's living in the dorm with all the society boys which probably means his family is a legacy family too and also maybe like a noble house. He's father paid extra for him to come back so he's not poor. Probably one of the riches family's but always on the sidelines because he's mixed. I need more of him too. Why's he also ready to bend the knee.
11. Felice and Alexandr need to be friends cus they actually probably have a lot in common. Rich family mixed kids and conforming to a society they stand out from just by existing.
12. Nils lol that's it. He was just ready.
13. Ok Henry the most normal boy. He draws!
14. Fredricka oh it'll be okay.
15. The frog was from his brother. Ugh as a set! Even though the frog represents Wille feeling trap. The fact that he's brother gave it to him means protection. He was telling Wille that he would look out for him and stuff.
16. The queen was nasty! When she was in school. The Duke and her definitely swing!
17. August is like a close cousin. Maybe the queens Brothers son. Or that's what I'm picking up.
18. Season 3 will be a sh** storm of media nonsense. August and the police, Wille and the speech. Swedish tmz is already creaming their pants.
