i really do believe that the answer to a lot of people's self hatred is not to try and reassure them that they are wonderful and okay and enough, but instead to remind them theyre a completely unremarkable regular ass person who is not the center of the universe or especially important so why would they expect themselves to be some superhuman savior. like there really is a kernel of out of control self importance at the heart of thinking youre an evil lazy piece of shit. because why would you expect you be anything but just like some guy. if you wouldnt expect the guy who works at the vape shop or your mailman or whatever to be able to do something then why would you expect yourself to? youre just some random ass person. its fine

Fun fact: the guys at our college’s geology department prop out the doors with their samples. I totally understand why but as someone whose work with samples is necessarily super delicate and sterile it fucks me up so bad

If it wasn't for all the John Doe propaganda being focused on him being a Trans Icon, I wouldn't have to remind people not to vote a Cis VA for a Trans character but now I have to and it sucks because I think Harlan is great and deserves many a win, but as far as I am aware he is not Trans and so I don't think a Cis VA should win for a Trans character over an authentically Queer BIPOC character with an authentically Queer BIPOC VA.

Anyway let me know if you have any audio drama characters with trans man or trans masc characters voiced by trans man or trans masc VAs that I can shout out!

I'll mention Danny Boyd from Hi Nay, voiced by my lovely friend and writing partner Edward McKee, a trans man VA.

real talk like. YES many fat people eat a healthy diet! lots of fat people don't eat sweets! lots of fat people love veggies! there are fat vegans!

BUT sometimes I see this being used as a gotcha in a way that says "it's okay to be fat because it doesn't mean you're eating Immorally" and I resent that.

I am fat and today I ate three cookies for breakfast. big ones. and that doesn't change the fact that my fatness is amoral and my diet - while objectively not very healthy, this cookie thing is part of a pattern in my life as a stressed out grad student - is also amoral.

it's okay to be fat and love little debbies. and it's okay to be fat and eat little debbies more than you "should." you don't owe your health or nutrition to anyone. everyone should fuck off
