Axl Rose Interview
"There's a lot of violence in the world. That's the environment we live in and we like to show what we live in rather than hide it and act like everything is nice and sugary.
Everybody likes to paint their pretty pictures, but that just ain't how it is.
It just seems easier to know the rougher side (of life) than the more pleasant side just because it's more readily accessible.
It seems like when you come to this town unless you are part of the mommy's-boy-daddy's-money poseur rock scene they try to puke you right out," said Rose.
"You fight for your place.
I remember two years of standing at the Troubadour and talking to no one, not knowing what to do, and everybody thinking they're so cool. Eventually we did our own thing, made new friends, and brought a new crowd to the Troubadour."

I would love to hear a cover by GNR of "Throw Your Arms Around Me" by Hunters and Collectors. Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam did a version of it with the lead singer Neil Finn. I think Axl could do his own twist with his voice on the song and perform it well. If it happens, I hope he thinks it would come out great.
What do you all of you think?

harper valley p.t.a

requested by: @ccucumberx
my first song fic: harper valley p.t.a by jeannie c. riley
location: birmingham, alabama
school: harper valley private school for girls
duff mckagan, bassist of guns n’ roses receives a letter complaining about the way his two daughters act and dress. leading to a few heated words with the school’s parent teacher association.
warning: only one swear word
Grace McKagan walks into her family home in a huff, her sister Mae following close behind with a look of sadness in her eyes.
“Dad!” Grace yells.
Her father Duff, runs into the room looking worried.
“What’s wrong, darling?”
“It’s our stupid school, they caught Mae smoking a cigarette in the washroom. I even got in trouble for wearing our uniform skirt too high. Dad, why did we have to move to Alabama? At least people back home understood us.” Grace replies with tearful anger in her eyes.
Grace hands her father a letter sent by the administration of her and Mae’s school:
Dear Mr. McKagan,
It has come to our attention that your two daughters, Grace and Mae McKagan have been misusing our dress code as well as inappropriate behaviour on school grounds. Including but not limited to: cigarette smoking, paying students to do their homework, dressing in a sexual manner and inappropriate language when speaking with faculty.
We have planned an emergency meeting on Thursday May 22 at 7pm for you or your significant other to come to our parent teacher council meeting to address our concerns. Please DO NOT be late.
Sincerely, Harper Valley P.T.A
Duff puts the letter on the kitchen counter with the rest of the days mail. He sighs while looking at his daughters.
“I’ll speak with them for you.” He promised.
“Harper Valley will learn never to mess with my children.”
Grace and Mae smiled at each other. Yes, the school definitely didn’t know what do expect from a literal rock n’ roll musician.
May 22 - 6:45pm
the time read 6:45pm when Duff entered the school library. Seeing the members of the parent teacher council made him smile to himself. These people were about to have a rude awakening.
He wore jeans, a white t-shirt and leather jacket. Feeling it was best to be himself instead of a fake overly positive parent.
When the time read 7pm, Duff jumped in his seat as the sound of a gavel startled him. He was shocked to see the leader meant business when the meeting was about to start. Was he on trial for a crime?
“Attention, attention.” the team lead called out.
“We are here to discuss the inappropriate conduct of Grace and Mae McKagan. On this day, Thursday, May 22nd.”
“Mr. McKagan, the floor is yours.”
Duff gets out of his seat and gets down to business.
“Listen, I don’t know what your problem is but my daughters are doing nothing wrong.” He explains.
“I mean, think about it. Isn’t high school the time to explore and try new things?”
Duff goes into a long story about how he acted in high school. A way to teach the parents that no young person is perfect.
Unbeknownst to everyone in the room, a group of students led by Grace were hiding in the rows of books while listening to her father. Smiling, it seemed like good things would hopefully come out of this.
“Like I said, I was one mother-fucker. I literally played in a rowdy punk rock band. So nobody can be perfect even by your school standards.” Duff concluded.
The parents were shocked into silence.
“We’ll think about this going forward into our school policy Mr. McKagan. Thank you for your insightful words.”
Monday morning: 9:00am
Grace grabs a notice off of the main bulletin board before homeroom. The noice had the following encouraging words for the students:
It has come to our attention that we have been in the wrong. We now finally understand that high school is a time for growing up and learning new things about ourselves. We as a faculty have decided that there will be no restrictions in the choices you make between classes. Also, school uniforms will be discontinued letting students discover their own style. Please thank the father of Grace & Mae McKagan for making all this possible for you
A cheer broke out in the classroom as Grace finished reading the notice to her classmates.
“I can’t believe it.”
“Now, I’m not ashamed of my bad smoking habit.”
“You’re the best Grace!”
She could hear being spoken in the crowd full of people. She smiled at her sister while thinking about her dad. Who was truly the best dad in the whole world.

Axl doesn’t need to respond to the Michelle incident it’s like every time she’s online telling something crazy and all of her followers believe all and really she’s not getting anywhere
Hi! You are my first anon in a long time!
Yes, I agree. It is in the past. If it gets responded to, more feed onto it. It makes me sad how it gets all twisted around. It is kind of stuck, you are right. It isn't going anywhere. I feel like it will die down, but the memory sticks that someone could be like this, trying to ruin someone else's life. But there are people like that. Know who you are and always be yourself. Never try to be someone like that, or something you are not.
May you have a wonderful day! :).

I don't normally reblog these things. But thank you to all users in the tumblr gnr fan/admirer base for your opinions. And how you stick by the band. I try not to look at comments and forum users but I always admired how on here things have more facts and more ways to express yourself. You all are great!
One thing that stands out to me he said, for the Michelle incident, I don't think it would make sense for the rumor of Axl sleeping with Michelle's mother to drop the case to be real. And supposedly that it was confirmed. Wouldn't you want to stay away from the people who are trying to put you away? Any sight of him, she probably would have tried to put him away immediately. If any way it was real, did her mother have a small infatuation for him and just said "fine. I'll do it."?
I hope when he feels ready, he writes to the world what he can and what he truly wants. Any tidbits from interviews or real life interactions, or his actions to organizations, and actual real friends too. You know just how real he is.
I haven't looked into any much more of Mick's. There is so much that isn't true just from what I have read. The Michelle thing is one of the many things that stood out to me. And it sounded uncharacteristic, even for Axl back then.
You guys are great. Never let anyone else let you not express what you love and what to talk about. Have an awesome day!
Who is mick mall
i think you mean Mick wall, he is a british journalist who always talked about rock stars, he would always talk about axl rose even made a fucking books about him, axl made a song talking back to everyone who talked bad about him in the press, "get in the ring" and he mentions Mick wall with a few others, but he has mentioned mick wall on many occasions, nothing ever good, I really wish axl would publish his books so we can get the real story, because he will have the real shit, no bullshit, he isn't using a writer its all him, as well to mention he was the only sober one during afd era, and so on, he said he has dabbled but nothing ever serious, I know from research Stevens book isn't completely reliable, duffs has been the most factual, slashs has mixed opinions axl has stepped forward saying he wrote things that weren't real, but mick wall was just a pussy who wrote lies and started controversys, axl words.
