“It wasnt the real mona lisa bc the real mona lisa was painted on wood and thats clearly canvass” versus “It was the real Mona Lisa, just suspend your disbelief for a second” — fam. Both options are good. Both options are great.
Either it was the real mona lisa, in which case, Miles Bron is a murdering idea-stealing phony who will be forever known as the guy who destroyed THEE mona lisa, and there is absolutely no coming back from that —-
OR, it was a fake, bc the museum was like “lmfao this joker thinks we’d loan him the ACTUAL mona lisa? Ahahahahaha” in which case, there’s all the initial press coverage of the explosion and the shitty fuel and the murders and then the revelation that THEE MONA LISA was destroyed on Miles Bron’s watch, and all of that plays out across the media, and THEN!!! the Lourve gets to step forward saying “dont worrry guys. We never gave him the real painting. We didn’t trust him with it. We gave him a fake and he never noticed,” which the media would have a FIELD DAY with, because it’s like the resurrection of Jesus only with a painting, instead of a person, and also, the whole thing is funny as FUCK, bc they gave him a fake and he didnt notice, and also-also, clearly the Lourve was ahead of the curve when it came to recognising Miles’ stupidity, and it’ll stay in the media for WEEKS, that Miles was conned by the lourve and clearly they were right to trick him because LOOK WHAT HAPPENED to the fake Mona lisa, PLUS of course all the rest of the stuff like the 2 murders and the hydrogen fuel and the idea theft and etc.
Like?? There’s no losing here. Both options are great. If it was real, then he’ll never live it down, and if it was fake, he’ll never live it down. Either way: fantastic

i feel so bad for nikola tesla like imagine spending years beefing with a guy who has conned the public into believing he's some sort of supergenius when in reality it's his overworked employees developing all of his world-changing inventions and you end up dying broke and starving and alone and then 100 years later another guy cons the public into believing he's some sort of supergenius when in reality it's his overworked employees developing all of his world-changing inventions and he's doing it all IN YOUR NAME. he must be rolling in his grave like a fucking rotisserie chicken

Okay, you know what? After reading this post, I jokingly said we should all just make a pact to reblog it five times a day forever. So I'm gonna do this louder for the people in the back:
AO3 WAS CREATED BY FANS, FOR FANS
AO3 IS RUN BY FANS (VOLUNTEERS, NO LESS)
AO3 IS PART OF THE NON-PROFIT, ORGANIZATION FOR TRANSFORMATIVE WORKS
AO3 IS NOT OWNED BY ANY COMPANIES AND DOES NOT EARN REVENUE
AO3 OPERATES ON DONATIONS FROM FANS
again:
AO3 WAS CREATED BY FANS, FOR FANS

I'm curious. Reblog this if you know how to cook
I don’t even care if it’s macaroni, ramen or those little bowls you stick in the microwave. Please, I need reassurance that most of the population on tumblr WOULDN’T STARVE TO DEATH if their parents couldn’t fix them food or they couldn’t go out to eat.

When I was at university, there was one of those standing around as an exhibit. For special events, they’d spin it up. To quote one of the guys who’d used it for real, “we didn’t need any disk activity lights, we just felt if the floor was vibrating”.

Now that’s a disc drive.

The show's attitude to historical accuracy is firmly established in the first season episode "Athens City Academy of the Performing Bards", where they have Homer (probably lived in the 8th century BC) telling the story of the Spartacus Rebellion (happened in 73-71 BC). Given how famous both Homer and Spartacus are, that's not a mistake that can be made by accident, but has to be a deliberate statement.
Over the course of the series, Xena and Gabrielle experience things and meet people who can be tied down to specific time periods:
They take part in the siege of Troy (12th century BC)
Meet Homer (8th century BC)
Xena commissions a poem to Gabrielle from Sappho of Lesbos (circa 570-630 BC)
They meet Pheidippides during his famous run from Marathon to Athens (490 BC)
Xena's girlfriend Lao Ma actually wrote the Tao Te Ching (4th century BC)
Xena has a small part in Julius Caesar's rise to power (circa 80 BC to 45BC)
Augustus adopts and raises Xena, Gabrielle and Callisto's daughter, renaming her from Eve to Livia (20 years somewhere between 45 BC and 18 AD)
They meet Beowulf (story set in the 6th century AD)...
...at the same time as Brunhilde (story set in the 12th century AD)
I can't find it now, but I have a memory of reading an interview with one of the showrunners, who claimed that the show was set "vaguely BC, and that line is firm as a rubber band". Which is a pretty accurate description. Unless you prefer to think that by the end of the show, Xena and Gabby are way over two thousand years old.
Why is the go to with new people watching Xena “oh the historical timeline isn’t accurate 😒”
YES, it’s a FANTASY show where the woman leaps 20 feet off the ground screaming for her wife, dies, becomes and archangel, becomes a demon, takes over hell, launches an attack on heaven, comes back to life, kills giants, dies and comes back to life, fights an army to save her dying wife, dies and comes back to life, has 3 exact look alikes, uses shaman mysticism to retrieve the soul of her baby, dies…

My brother and I read the Batman '66/Wonder Woman '77 crossover comic where you and Adam West's Batman teamed up together. It ended with the two characters alongside Batgirl and Nightwing creating the Justice League. I was wondering if you got to decide the Justice League members, which heroes would you recruit beyond you and Batman?
Deadpool, simply for chaos. And to confuse the media companies.
