United Kingdom (1987)
Black History Month was celebrated in the United Kingdom in 1987. It was organized through Akyaaba Addai-Sebo who had served as a coordinator of special projects for the Greater London Council and created a collaboration to get it started. Canadian Black History (1995)
Jean Augustine,a politician in 1995 representing the riding of Etobicoke—Lakeshore in Ontario, Canada's House of Commons officially recognized February as Black History Month and honored Black Canadians. In the 1993 federal election, Augustine became the first African-Canadian woman elected to the Parliament of Canada; she served three terms as Chair of the National Liberal Women's Caucus. Augustine was elected Chair of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade. Jean Augustine was also responsible for championing legislation to recognize February as Black History Month in Canada with a unanimous vote of 305-0. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jean_Augustine

United States Black History Month (1976)
Black History Month was first brought up by Black educators and the Black United Students at Kent State University in February 1969. The first celebration took place at Kent State in 1970. About 6 Years later it was celebrated in every state and worldwide. Negro History Week (1926)
(Carter G. Woodson and the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History announced the second week of February to be “Negro History Week”. This week was chosen because it was the same month birthdays of Abraham Lincoln on February 12 and of Frederick Douglass on February 14,  it was to coordinate teaching of the history of Black Americans in the nation's public schools. Negro History Week was started to get known that people started to make black history clubs and an increase in interest among teachers, and interest from progressive whites. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_History_Month
