Okay but how are there virtually no fanfics about Slender and his brothers? And I’m talking about them being the main focus.

You cannot tell me there’s nothing to explore in their dynamic! A family full of clashing, divisive personalities, with a farrago of mindsets and lifestyles so incompatible, they might as well be completely unrelated to each other (which, in a way, they are but for the sake of my inane ramblings, allow them to be blood-bound just for a brief moment) - that’s a golden opportunity for a compelling (heartrending?) family drama and fertile ground for character study. Like, show me a better premise for a juicy conflict and banter that just writes itself, than a group of people who simultaneously care for and cannot stand each other - with all the intricacies of their (clearly unhealthy and self-destructive) psyche taken into consideration, of course. I mean, just look at them (and that’s going off of a consensus born in my own silly lil’ head) - we have a solemn recluse with a grudge against humans, a cocky self-serving hypersexual jerk (considering he never lives up to his name), a chronic people-pleaser with rose-tinted glasses - you get the idea.

Just throw them all in and have some fun, you know? :)

What we know so far about the Slender: The Arrival announcement

(Special thanks to @them0rtal for making the post that helped me realize this is even happening)

#1: On June 22nd at 10:00 a.m., the official Slender: The Arrival Twitter account (@/PlaySlenderTA) made a post. It contained a 13 second video, along with the caption "He's waiting... #slenderman #slenderTA".

#2: At 10:07 a.m., the account for Blue Isle Studios quote retweets this post. They add the caption "The countdown has started: slenderarrival.com".

Following the link will lead visitors to the promotional website established for the game. Underneath an image of Slenderman, a countdown can be found.

This countdown is set to end in roughly 34 days.

Beneath a link to the Youtube upload of the teaser video, visitors also have the option to provide their email addresses in order to "stay tuned".

Aside from this teaser and the updated website, no other details about the project have been provided. Fans have begun to speculate on what this announcement could mean for Slender: The Arrival, and what type of product is being teased.

Ahead are a few speculations and theories on what this announcement could be for.

A remake/remaster of Slender: The Arrival. Due to the updated graphics in the teaser video and the fact that it references a scene towards the ending of the original game, many believe that this is a hint that The Arrival is getting a face-lift.

A continuation of the original game. Some fans, while playing the teaser with audio, have noticed that it contains the sounds of male breathing. Assuming that the figure on the stairs is Charlie (since he is the one guarding the stairs in the original scene this teaser is referencing), this breathing sounds too mature to be coming from him. This has led many to theorize that this could be a new protagonist, likely to be an adult male.

Others believe this could be a port to Switch, a PS5-exclusive remaster, etc.

It is currently unknown what will happen once the countdown ends. Many are assuming there will be an official reveal (trailer, proper announcement, etc.), which should finally confirm what exactly it is in regards to The Arrival.

I’m just gonna chime in real quick and say that I’m pretty sure someone at some point discovered that a myth about “der Großmann” in Schwarzwald has been going around since like 1700 or something like that which reminded an awful lot of Slender? Der Großmann basically translates as “the Tall Man” who also had a featureless face, lived in a forest, stole kids like an asshole and pretty much was an absolute menace to the local population. Although, you wouldn’t catch this guy rocking a suit back then, haha!

I might be wrong though and that might not be where it all started. But I fucken love that the majority agrees they’re German, I feel like that’s really dope, it makes sense and adds this little unifying detail / underlines their familial bond?? I don’t know what I’m talking about.

I just think it’s neat.

Okay, I’m sorry but I just could help but reblog and comment on this when I saw it because AHHH, I’ve always loved that headcanon of Slender and his brothers speaking German in private! Such a shame that people rarely bring this up in fanfics (and well, that there aren’t many fics focused on the family in the first place but that’s a rant for another time, lol), I just feel like small details like that really help with fleshing out the characters and conveying that yes, they are a family after all - because even though they have different, pretty much clashing personalities, they still have that bond, they still share language, history and memories. Wah, this stuff makes my heart burst!

They would totally talk to each other in German if they’re discussing private matters OR they’d just occasionally do it to mess with someone, lmao. Like, German sounds so powerful and scary with the right inflection, imagine them just talking to each other in front of you, saying the silliest stuff and making it look like they’re contemplating murder, lol.

I want to see more German people writing for Slender.

Like, a lot of us think he's german so, he obviously speaks German in Private.

Like I speak Croatian with ma family in Germany
