thinking the collective subconscious may be real bc why is it that while vlad was described by contemporaries as strong but not very tall (as was typical for men from the region), while mehmed's ancestors were effectively selectively breeding with tall women for generations (since that was the beauty standard & obviously most of the harem women ended up there purely based on their looks fitting that standard and not for political alliance reasons), AND YET basically everyone depicting them seems to have intuitively CEMENTED vlad as the taller one in their imagination & to be fr atp it just feels wrong to me too to imagine anything else… like damn, truly the ancient laws of classical yaoi compel us all…

The main reason is bc I like the portrayal by Daniel Nuta and Cem Yiğit Üzümoğlu the most. 🤔 In that version Vlad is tall and buff whereas Mehmed is a little pretty ginger nerd (this is accurate to contemporary accounts)
