She’d only escaped because LUCK was on her side. Her and Ganodi had been learning to repair Jedi Starfighters when the attack had begun. They’d been able to escape in the ship, to outrun the few Clone Troopers waiting for them in the space above Coruscant ----- they’d gotten practice from outrunning Hondo and his gang. 

Really, that was why Katooni had suggested Florrum. She hadn’t been sure where else to go ---- Padawan Tano had left the Jedi Order and both Master Kenobi and Master Yoda were off-world, fighting the Separatists. Hondo had invited the young Tholothian to join his band of pirates once and now, with nowhere else to turn, the youngling had been certain he would shelter her. 

The ship crash landed on Florrum. While they’d escaped the clutches of DEATH, the Troopers were able to damage their ship enough to avoid a happy landing ----- Katooni was able to drag herself out with a sprained wrist, bruised ribs, and a bloodied face, but Ganodi hadn’t been quite so lucky. 

So she’d set off on foot, stumbling across the terrain as she tried to find her way BACK to the pirate’s stronghold. Katooni cradles her wrist as she walks, trying to set it as best she can with the few resources she still has. She’s on her own for the first time in her life, and that alone is terrifying. “Hondo!” she calls out, her voice coarse from the hours spent walking and the tears she’s cried for all those who haven’t escaped ----- she has no idea what’s happened to Petro or the others. “Hondo!” Perhaps if she’s loud enough, he’ll find her.... e v e n t u a l l y.

She blinks against the harsh lights. The last thing she can remember... Well, she can’t remember it. Her head throbs, a pain akin to the headaches she receives when she hasn’t eaten enough portions for the day. “He? Who’s...” She trails off, fear flickering across her face as she realizes she’s RESTRAINED. “Where am I? Who are you?” There’s something about the girl that seems vaguely familiar, but Rey can’t place her. She’s seen too many new faces in these past couple of days.
