It’s the middle of the night.

Tristan is, of course, asleep when Lancelot sneakily enters through one of his large windows into his chambers.

He softly lands on the stone floor inside and makes sure to once again lock the windows behind him. Then, he turns and quietly walks over to Tristan’s large bed where the younger prince sleeps, taking off his bow and settling it onto one of his smaller chairs, then removing his hoodie and throwing it somewhere in his room, and then taking off his shoes until he’s left in only his pants.

Lancelot sighs as he looks over and his eyes scan along Tristan’s sleeping form. His long hair is braided so it doesn’t get tangled and his mismatched eyes are ever so softly closed whilst he breathes evenly.

He carefully climbs into bed with him, being so so careful not to wake him up, and manages to get underneath the covers when Tristan mumbles and twitches before his eyes flutter open with a yawn that escapes his lips.

“Mmm…Lance?” He slurs and reaches up to rub at one droopy eye. “You’re here…”

“Shh,” Lancelot hushes him. “Yeah. I’m here. Go back to sleep.”

“Missed you,” Tristan murmurs as his mismatched orbs fight a losing battle of staying open. “Come snuggle.”

Lancelot huffs. “Fine.”

Tristan coos with sleepy joy as Lancelot crawls underneath the covers and into Tristan’s awaiting arms. The elder prince wraps around him protectively as the younger curls wraps his arms around his back. They settle against his fluffy mattress, like puzzle pieces fitting together, and Lancelot relaxes into his embrace.

Tristan holds him and presses a sleepy kiss against his cheek. Lancelot’s mouth quirks upwards and he tilts his head to peck Tristan’s lips.

“Sleep,” Lancelot urges.

“Still gon’a be here ‘morrow?” Tristan murmurs and Lancelot hums.

“Yeah,” He promises as Tristan falls asleep. Lancelot watches as his breathing begins to even out again and his lips part as he inhales and exhales ever so softly in the fists of his peaceful slumber.

“I’ll be here when you wake up.”
