So for bats purring is a something they do during the mating seasons, it’s a communicative thing for them, and since vampires and their dhampir offspring have vampire bat features and can transform into them, you monstrous beloved would have some more unseen features.

Alucard’s purr is usually very soft and light, you’d usually feel it rather than hear it unless his head was by your ear.

During sex however it’s louder, rougher sounding, perhaps even a little broken.

He purrs for many reasons, when he’s going down on you fully lost in the scent and taste of your sex his purr rumbles out, showing how content he is right between your legs. The vibrations of it are like your own personal vibrator, making you cum that much faster, and making you grow more sensitive as Alucard loses himself between your plush thighs.

What are the differences between your characterization of a dark / yandere alucard and the non yandere version?

A/N: Oooh… That’s a great question, Nonnie!

If I’m being honest, most of it is instinctual, so hmm, let me think for a moment…

So to me, Non-Yandere! Alucard at his core, is a very burdened, very conflicted person. And yet, at the same time, he is incredibly steadfast and disciplined.

I recall either watching or reading an interview with Netflix’s Alucard’s VA (James Callis) about when his mother was killed, he felt badly, but he also understood it wasn’t his fault. And while he could understand his father’s grief, he also knew it was his responsibility to stop him.

Adrian just… knew.

He knew what happened was awful and worthy of grief, but he also knew there were bigger things at stake. He compartmentalizes those feelings of loss and pain all through Seasons 1 and 2, right up until the last bit of Season 2, where he breaks down crying after the deed of stopping and killing his father is done.

This is what makes him dangerous, even outside of a dark/yandere version.

He’s deeply emotional, and because of that, he’s quite self-aware when it comes to his feelings. This introspective nature gives him an edge over his opponents because where they see him as an unstable, illogical, feeling dhampir, he’s truly rational. They underestimate him for his half-human nature, not understanding that his skill of empathy makes him a far more knowledgeable adversary.

He knows what to say to people, and how to say it, to get the response he wants. He’s emotionally intuitive and cunning. Which, on the positive side, means he’s a great listener and helper. On the negative side, it means he’s prone to manipulation, even if it is for the greater good. Hell, at some point in time, it may be unintentional manipulation on his part- he doesn’t see it that way, he could choose to simply see it as getting the stubborn humans around him to see the safer point of view.

(If you’re at all familiar with Myers-Briggs types, this all makes him an INFJ: an introverted, intuitive, Feeling, Judging person.)

So, in terms of characterization, a Yandere! Alucard is extremely similar in that he’s emotionally intuitive with strong feelings. However, the dark part of this manifests in clever, selfish influence.

He’s not saying what people need to hear in order to ultimately help them, he’s saying it to get what he wants out of their relationship. He uses his ability to read people and compartmentalize to his advantage, leaving the other person vulnerable and on unstable ground. And should any of his feelings become too big, or his thoughts too passionate, he’s smart enough to find a semi-practical way to justify them.

(So a dark version is still very much INFJ, but an evil INFJ. It’s pretty interesting if you look up famous historical INFJs. On one side you have notable leaders and peacekeepers and on the other side, you have dictators and genocidal maniacs. It just goes to show you how intuitiveness and awareness give individuals the power to wield over others.)

It’s been months since Trevor and Sypha had last seen you and Alucard, and the entire time Trevor was worrying over you. Since Alucard threatened Trevor and tried to kill him, if he got too close to you. He was forced to stay away from you, forced to watch you stay with the obsessive vampire. 

But now Trevor and Sypha are on their way to the old Tepes castle, the sun was setting, painting the sky in oranges and pinks. 

“Trevor?” Sypha nudged Trevor who blinked, he was zoning out while holding the horses leads. He quickly took the reigns back and spoke, 

“Sorry just. Got a lot on my mind..” He said quietly, Sypha rose a brow. 

“Is this about (Y/N)?” Trevor looked away, then back on the road. 

“It is..”

“I know you worry about her being with Alucard, because of your paranoia, but she’s fine. She’s safe with Alucard.” Sypha patted Trevor on his arms and he relaxed, 

“Thanks, Sypha.” He smiled at the woman. 

The ride was quiet, until they reached the castle and the horses neighed rising up in fear. 

“Woah!” Trevor pulled back, and looked at Sypha who blinked in confusion. Trevor whipped the reigns but the horses only stomped and stood in their spot. 

“They’re scared..” Sypha said, and Trevor huffed. 

“Or just plain lazy.” he jumped from the wagon, glaring at the horses who ate nearby grass. Tying them down, Trevor and Sypha grabbed their bags and headed for the castle. 

“I do hope they managed to get the blood stains out of the floors.”

“Let’s hope Alucard didn’t add any..” Trevor mumbled and Sypha smacked his arm, he huffed again. 

“I’m just saying!” The two started to bicker, 

“Ah, my friends!” Alucard called from the castle’s entrance, the moonlight made his skin white and his fangs shine. 

“Alucard!” Sypha cheered and ran to hug her friend, who gladly accepted the hug. 

“You both still bicker over nothing.” Alucard teased and Sypha sheepishly nodded, 

“Where is (Y/N)?” Trevor broke the atmosphere, and Alucard frowned at him. 

“She’s inside, come.” Alucard led the two inside, Sypha was in awe at the castle’s dark decor while Trevor could only scoff at the amount of candles. 

“Damn fire hazard..” 

“There’s my dear,” Alucard smiled up at you, you stood on the top of the endless stairs. Trevor looked up, his eyes widened as he took in your appearance. 

Your skin shone in the moonlight that came from the windows, your dress hid your neck and draped behind you. Your nails were sharp, and Trevor blinked. 

Your eyes were a sparkling red. Trevor’s bag slammed onto the ground, 

“How could you?” Trevor growled, looking up at Alucard who stood on the stairs. Alucard walked up to you, holding you waist he smiled. 

“Do what?” Trevor’s face went red from anger, 

“Turn her, dammit!” He barked, 

Alucard laughed, 

“Oh that,” Alucard’s hand caressed your neck. You shivered, never liking him touching you. But you didn’t have a choice, you were stuck with Alucard whether you liked it or not. 

To see your friends, was exhausting. To hear their blood pumping, and their hearts racing. It was mouth watering. Alucard prevents you from hunting, instead he feeds you fresh meat he caught. It’s been too long since you’ve been near a beating heart. 

“She wanted too, so we could be together forever.” Trevor stepped forward, only for Sypha to take his hand. 

“Trevor, stop it.” Sypha glared, 

“They are happy, now stop being a jealous idiot and calm down.” Trevor looked down at Sypha, unsure of how to take the situation he could only take a deep breath. 

“Please, join us for dinner.” Alucard spoke, the entire time you were staring Trevor down. Internally begging for him to make a plan to free you..

You sat at the end of the table, Alucard decided to discard the lengthy dining table for a smaller one. In order to sit closer to you that is. 

Trevor and Sypha sat directly across from each other and Alucard was busy in the kitchen. 

“(Y/N), you’re quiet.” Sypha commented and you looked at her, she brought her hand closer to yours. But you quickly pulled back, afraid to feel her warm hand against your cold one. 

You felt Trevor’s stare on you, 

“Please..” You started but shut your mouth when the large doors open. 

Alucard placed plates in front of everyone, your meal was soaked with fresh blood. You felt your pupils grow and your mouth started to water. 

Trevor watched as your fangs sunk into the meat, your eyes were blown and he bit his tongue.

Alucard could only smile as he watched you feast and Trevor squirm.  

After dinner, you hid yourself in the bathroom, ashamed of not holding back your hunger and letting your friends see this vicious side of you.

Slowly tears fell from you, they were dark red and you could only sob more as remember you couldn’t even see your own face in the mirror. 

When the bathroom door opened you gasped, pushing back your eyes widened when you see Trevor standing there. He quickly shut the door, blocking it with his body. 

“What happened?” He asked, and you could only hide your face into his chest as you sobbed. 

“He turned me, Trevor. I never wanted this.” you sobbed, Trevor’s eyes softened and his fingers went through your hair. 

“Why didn’t you run?” Trevor asked, and you looked up at him. 

“I tried, so many times. I ran, I hid, I cried out for a savior. But everytime, he found me. He hid me from everything. Please, Trevor. Please, help me.” Trevor held your face, and wiped your dark tears. 

“We’ll leave tomorrow moring, I will tell Sypha. We will protect you, (Y/N).” He pulled you in for another hug, his head running with dangerous thoughts against Alucard. 

That morning your eyes opened quickly, ready to escape this hell as soon as possible. But when you felt the other side of the bed empty, you froze. 

“Good Morning, Darling.” Alucard whispered and you sat up, your eyes widened. 

Alucard took off his gloves that were efficiently soaked in red, blood splattered across his face. 

“Sypha and Trevor decided to leave early, saying something about leaving the fire blazing. I don’t remember. Or really care” he chuckled to himself, and stepped closer to you. You slid back, hitting against the headboard. 

“But that's fine, more time alone for us, hmm?” Alucard hummed, suddenly he was atop of you and at that moment tears fell from your eyes. 

“We’ll be together, for eternity.”

In this scenario..you’re unwilling to turn. 

When Trevor started to distance himself from you, and you went to Alucard for comfort. 

You didn’t really see the signs of him being obsessed with you. You did notice him constantly glaring at any passing by men, and being extremely protective during fights. But you thought he was just protecting you. 

After the battle with Dracula, you decided to stay with Alucard in his time of need. Seeing how he did the same for you. 

But a month into living in the castle, is when you started to realize Alucard’s..obsession. 

The art pieces he presented of you, began as flattering but turned to uncomfortable. 

He’d try to feed you, sometimes you would still see blood dripping from the meat. 

You didn’t notice him slipping in drops of blood in everything you ate, 

You only started to develop feelings for Alucard after the Trevor incident, however with Alucard’s new personality peaking through your feelings were failing. 

It wasn’t until Alucard pulled you in for a deep kiss and mouthed at your neck did you realize his intentions. 

But it was too late, even as you struggled in his arms, Alucard still broke your skin and injected the vampiric poison inside of you. You could only quietly cry as he turned you, effectively making you pass out in the process. 

Everything was blurry, loud, and spinning.

When you joined the trio, you’ve only known Alucard for a short time. But he’s known you for a long time.  

He loves to see you fight, imagining you both dueling and him always winning. But at the same time, he doesn’t want you to fight, he just wants to protect you. 

He wants to hide you away in a coffin, only taking you out where no one can see you. 

To see you get along with Trevor so easily, makes him seeth. Considering that Trevor is already a minor threat to Alucard, the two of you conversing, much less flirting. Alucard would rather drink holy water than see that, 

Though you question when Trevor starts to distance himself from you, going to Alucard for comfort and maybe some answers. You were exactly where Alucard wanted you to be, in his arms. Seeking comfort and warmth.
