hello! i know it's been a while but i'm back writing fic for bandori and love live (amongst other fandoms)

Full stop, I hate how disabled people are ripped off when it comes to buying basic items. Why the fuck is an electric wheelchair $4000, ableds can buy a used car cheaper than that. Ableds get everything catered to them yet I’m trying to get a new wheelchair and can’t afford it. That’s my fucking legs. This also applies to things that disabled people want, like I shouldn’t have to pay $1000 for an adapted guitar. You’re ripping one of the poorest population in the world.

There needs to be a cap on how much vendors can charge for equipment rentals and items that are needed or wanted by disabled people but y’all not ready to talk about that.

i'm half turkish cypriot, half tatar. my family are muslims and i have an arabic deadname, so i think i can speak on this a little

i agree that it's harmful because people find excuses to mis-pronounce arabic names on purpose, some of my friends with arab names have had them pronounced wrong when they are so simple and easy to say like samirah's. even if her name wasn't easy to say however it still wouldn't be okay because if you can learn to pronounce tchaikovsky, schwarzenegger etc you can learn to pronounce arab and asian names

rick making her name be shortened makes others think it's ok to shorten people's names because they don't want to bother learning to pronounce them or, like the person above said, supports erasing arab/indian names and making them american/making them comedic

he also did a lot of other things with samirah that were bad representation too, e.g. having her remove her hijab in front of non-family men. it would've been so easy and so much less harmful to just not include that. but this is about names so i won't go into it too much

Not that you like. Need to respond to this I'm just saying it because it's constantly on my mind and you've posted about it most recently, but the whole being mad about Samirah's name being shortened to Sam always seemed weird to me, because people say it's about racism, and I'm named Samantha. Telling people to call me by my full name has never once stopped them from referring to me as Sam. At all.

Not saying that there isn't racism in the fandom (because yeah.) But I've always thought it strange that the name thing was attributed to that and not just people's reflex.

anon from what i have heard it's the fact that she's arab/muslim and her name is shortened, meanwhile annabeth's name is the same length and no one calls her anna or beth or anything like that. you'd be better off asking people who are the same race and religion as her about this tho

—I think setsuna, as nana, doesn't make new friends easily. her best friends would be people she's known since childhood, and the members of the idol club

—so you would naturally be one of setsuna's closest friends, having known each other since you were little. you met when you accidentally spilled your juice on her as a kid in preschool. from there, you just sort of started playing together more and stuff, and eventually went to the same junior high school (continuing to be friends) and both ended up at nijigasaki

—nana helps you with homework if you need it and gives you notes on classes you missed when you're off school for whatever reason

—setsuna has you try whatever she cooks. it's terrible, but you always tell her you love it as so to not hurt her feelings

—she encourages your hobbies and interests a lot, setsuna wants to see you (her best friend) succeed at things you like doing. but she still makes sure you study and such

—you come to all of her performances to cheer her on, she really values your support

—overall, setsuna would be a really great friend, she supports you and vice versa. you've known each other for a while and trust each other a lot

MASUKI

—you met masuki when you transferred to her school, shirayuki private academy, and she was assigned to show you around and help you adjust

—at first, you were probably scared, since she looks quite intimidating and sharp, but your worries were settled when you started to get to know each other

—from there, it just slowly progressed into a relationship. you became such good friends that people weren't even aware you weren't dating, so it was a real surprise when someone referred to you as masuki's girlfriend. however, she asked you out quite quickly after that, realizing she liked you

—masuki really likes to bake for you, every day she brings you new cakes, cookies etc

—if you knew how to, a lot of your dates would be baking something together, and if you couldn't she would absolutely love to teach you how to

—there's not much pda at all, if you really want to then she'll hold your hand at most. but in public, masuki's not the type to show much affection or hold onto you
