I like to know my writing partner. This isn’t always necessary, and if you’re not the sort of person who tries to get chummy with their roleplaying buddies, that’s absolutely fine, but in my experience, the plots and characters that last the longest are the ones with the players that I can message at 3 in the morning with an idea without feeling like I’m bothering them.

It Is Time || Accepting 

         20. …on a scar.

Lazy fingers twirled hair around them, watching the contrast against his skin before letting the strands fall away. His gaze lifted, concentration on the other’s face never faltering. Hizashi had finished his work some time ago, but he knew Shota had more to do. Between papers and sorting out training specifics for the kids, detailing what they needed to do, needed to work on.

     Ever since USJ, the man had hardly slept. 

Working nonstop to insure the students were okay.        Were prepared. And with every attack… 

A quiet sigh passed his lips as the thoughts trailed off. He knew it was all still bothering him - it had to be. But Shota had always been quiet with his struggles. 

Obsidian eyes shifted to look down at him, a silent question found in his gaze - answered with a pause, and then a shift, lips pressing to the scar beneath the man’s eye. 

               “You should take a break.” 

Gentle murmur as he shifted, carefully pulling from the man’s grasp, back popping as he stretched. 

              “Lets get dinner, Aizawa.” 

  If the other wouldn’t take care of himself… 

                           Yeah. 

                  He’d do that, too.

Leaned against the counter, absent eyes watched the outside world from his place near the window. With the change in season had come those colorful leaves, decaying away only to twist through crisp air - an art all their own, even as the world grew colder and time passed them by.

It was... a calm kind of change, one to be expected, and it always served as the mark of another year nearly survived.

A soft hum was given in response, rare contentment slipping into the tone. For a moment, silence, apart from the quiet tap of numb fingers against the surface of his coffee cup. Final sip, that fidgeting drew to a halt; his mug was discarded onto the counter - knuckles cracking as hands were pressed together to work out lingering stiffness.

       ❝It’s a nice day out.❞

Seemingly delayed words came in a murmur, and then pale fingers shifted, resting briefly at where trademark goggles were secured. Capture weapon adjusted slightly, he turned to look at the other hero, lips pressing together in thought. It was a nice day out, after all…

A nod towards the door, tired gaze softening ever slightly.

                   ❝Go for a walk with me, then?❞

An immediate cringe followed the other hero’s overly dramatic outburst, eyes flashing in silent warning as patience faltered. Expression skewed up slightly in distaste - though whether the displeasure came more from the subject, or the shattered quiet of the conversation, even he wasn’t entirely certain.

❝Tone it down a notch.❞  Grumbled words and a disgruntled huff, before allowing his head to flop against the back of the sofa. One of their many yearly arguments had already begun, and it was barely even October. More annoying was the fact that this wasn’t one Shota typically won by the end of it all.

Obsidian gaze flickered to where his lover was pouting at him, narrowing with disapproval at the whole thing.  ❝This isn’t high school anymore, Hizashi. Don’t you think I’m getting a bit old to be humoring this nonsense?❞

             Though he had, for years now.                    And some things never really change.
