Okay, so that Blindspot finale hurt my heart a lot, but I’ve come to the conclusion that Jane didn’t die.
I know the ending is supposed to be “up to viewer interpretation” (which, imo, is such a cop-out), but there is one key piece of evidence that I’m clutching onto and that is: They wouldn’t have left the body bag in the middle of Times Square.
It’s that simple.
While the scenes were playing, I really thought they did a whole “lol got you” and Jane was dead UNTIL they showed the body bag in the middle of Times Square. No cop cars, no Kurt, no Team Blindspot, no ambulances, etc. Just left Jane’s dead body in a bag… That is nonsensical unless Jane was simply filling in her worst case scenario, prompted by her and Kurt’s conversation at the dinner table.
Ergo, Jane lives and her “dying” was her imagining what could have been.

Ranking every season of Blindspot...
I’ve always liked the way MG has described each season of Blindspot like “a novel in a series of books.” Each season has had its own arc, its own journey, and I have loved looking back at them over the past few days as I think about the series as a whole. I decided to make an attempt at ranking them now that we have a complete series to look back on...something than in itself still blows my mind!
So...here is my list! Along with some context and explanations. (A list that no one asked for but I thought I’d share anyways 😂)
Would love to see your rankings too if you are so inclined to share - I am sure we would get quite a variety across our little fandom!
5. Season Three
Never in a million years would I have expected to rank in “last place” the season in which Jeller got married. There is A LOT that I love about this season and some fantastic episodes. But this is also the season that frustrates me the most because I feel there were so many missed opportunities, especially when it came to Jeller repairing their marriage and learning to trust each other again. As a whole, season three feels like the messiest, least-cohesive, most “contrived” season of the series.
4. Season Five
So much to love about this season. The incredible series finale just blew my socks off. A finale of absolutely epic proportions. And I loved seeing the team out of their comfort zones, on the run, fighting to clear their names and save the world. And don’t even get me started on how Rich DotCom became the heart and soul and anchor of this team, holding them together. The only reason I don’t have this season ranked higher is that this was very clearly a scaled-back season in almost every way - fewer episodes, fewer location shoots, fewer stunts. That said, I am beyond impressed with what they accomplished in this gift of a season with way fewer resources than they’d ever had before.
3. Season One
I started a rewatch of season one on Friday and am already half way through it. It is wild to look back at where the show - and these characters - started, now knowing where they “end up.” The pilot episode of Blindspot remains, IMO, one of the strongest pilots ever. And season one has MAYFAIR! One of the most fantastic network TV characters in recent memory and I still miss her very much. Season one had great twists and turns, and a much more “procedural” feel, with the tattoo “cases of the week,” which allowed us to get to know these characters in all kinds of situations.
2. Season Four
I surprised myself with this one! I really debated between season one and season four for placement here and honestly, could easily swap them on my list. I remember kind of dreading season four during the hiatus because I was NOT into the idea of a return of Remi. Like...at all. Up until season four, I had always thought of Remi as a completely different person - one that Jane had left behind for good. Boy, was I wrong. “Check Your Ed” completely changed the way I looked at Jane, at Kurt, at Jeller, at Blindspot. “I finally feel like a whole person.” Until Jane said those words, I hadn’t realized how important it was for her to reconcile everything about her journey for herself, and for Kurt to see Remi as a part of Jane and accept her for who she really is. It created a whole new Blindspot for the rest of the series, one that I somehow loved even more.
1. Season Two
I remember filling out a little hiatus Q&A on here sometime after season two and I agonized over the “favorite season of Blindspot” question - and there were only two to choose from then! But my answer hasn’t changed. Season two is absolutely epic. The introduction of Roman and Shepherd as Jane’s family turned Blindspot on its head in a fantastic way. And the FBI team became a family in a real and meaningful way during this season. Season one was when I got to know these characters...season two was when I fell in love with them.

Jane is alive. Kate-dammit-run has gained 100.  Dear Prudence is about Mia Farrow´s sister who became obsessive about meditating. I think Jane was obsessive meditating if she was died, she would missing this moment. #blindspot
You guys. Google “Dear Prudence” and read about the story behind the song. It’s pretty interesting stuff that can provide support to both endings so I’m not gonna say what I think so that not to influence anyone.
Not the meaning of the words but the story behind the song.
And if it doesn’t make you think these writers are a genius I don’t know what will 😅

Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward, married for 50 years, were considered to be Hollywood’s “golden couple”.  Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe, the leads of Outlander, claim they are not a couple.  What do they have in common?
Apparently a lot based on the pictures below.  From how they met (acting opposite one another), to their undeniable chemistry on and off set, to their interactions when together (the looks, the laughs, the mirroring), the similarities can’t be denied.  (The relationship timelines for both couples even include a fauxgagement.)
Full disclosure: I am steadfast in my belief (dare I say knowledge?) that Sam & Cait are together.  But whether you still believe they are together or no longer do, whether you’re sad or angry or tired on their behalf and/or your own, I hope that these pictures bring at least some measure of joy to you and your dashboard today.
Note: Because this post is long and image-heavy, I will put half of it under a cut.
“He’s very good looking and very sexy and all of those things, but all of that goes out the window and what is finally left is, if you can make somebody laugh.  And he sure does keep me laughing.” ~ Joanne Woodward

You could just see the love as she ran her hand over his head and hair. I thought at that time, ‘My, what a handsome couple. Isn’t it nice that this older couple cares so much for each other? It just radiates. This is just such a wonderful sight.’  ~ An Arizona museum employee on Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward

Warning…Snark ahead!
I will be posting a video tomorrow along with some hopefully thoughtful comments, but I wanted to get this out of my system first.
Tumblr media
Sharing giggles with a romantic partner keeps the lovey-dovey feelings going, according to a study published in the journal Personal Relationships.
“In general, couples who laugh more together tend to have higher-quality relationships,” she says. “We can refer to shared laughter as an indicator of greater relationship quality.”
Why Touch Is So Important In A Loving Marriage
We’ve reported many first-hand accounts from successfully married couples who tell us how important the human touch is to a loving marriage. They hug each other often, they kiss, they touch each other while talking, they sit cheek to cheek on the couch while having a conversation…
To touch someone you love is to acknowledge their presence and to communicate your desire for them. That’s why the most successfully married couples amongst us do it so often.
Two of the most important characteristics of a healthy relationship are laughter and touch. While we haven’t seen every interaction between Cait and her supposed fiancé, we’ve been privy to several behind-the-scenes pictures and videos, none of which show either of these occurring.  On the flip side, we have a treasure trove of in-front-of-the-camera and (more importantly) behind the scenes pics and videos of Sam and Cait laughing and joking and hugging and touching in a myriad of ways.  We also have eye-witness set accounts from Diana (poking and giggling) and stories from Cait (dancing in the “rain”) indicating that Sam and Cait share these important characteristics of a healthy relationship in abundance.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We also know from multiple sources that Cait and Sam work 12-14 hours a day, most of those together.  And Cait said recently that when she gets home from set, she usually just has time to work on her lines and then go to bed.
So, if all of the above is to be believed, it appears that Cait gets her emotional relationship needs met by Sam during the week.  Maybe then she doesn’t need them from T as there’s really only time for her to perhaps sit beside him as she studies lines and/or wave to him as she heads to bed (probably to tweet or skype with Sam).
But hey, no problem. There’s the weekend for T to take over that role, right? That is unless Cait is out with Sam drinking whiskey or with Sam at a rugby game (and flirt tweeting for hours after and then taking a picture of their fists in bed after midnight).  Or it might be a con weekend for Sam & Cait or they’re doing night shoots on location so working on Sunday and staying at a hotel.
Tumblr media
So the weekends aren’t looking like a great time for T and Cait to develop their relationship groove. No worries, though.  They had those lovely sun-drenched days in South Africa to connect.  But wait…there was no evidence that T was there during those 4 months.  But Cait and Sam enjoyed some tennis and more rugby and some shopping at the mall.  They were spotted on a beach and also went out on double dates to restaurants and wineries where they had a windy picnic with a bird who looked like it had a toupee. Sam plans the best picnics, doesn’t he Cait?
(Cait will raise a toast to that.)
Tumblr media
Okay, so South Africa didn’t work out for T and Cait, but Cait has about 2 months off each year, so at least they have vacations.  Well, not so fast.   Not if it’s Ibizi. That’s where Sam planned the infamous carpark picnic for them.  And not if it’s Budapest…shh, it’s supposed to be a secret that Cait was there.  Thank goodness fans only want pictures of Sam and don’t recognize Schleppy.
Tumblr media
But public and industry events…Can T at least have those with Cait?  Well he might have to share some of those with Sam too, but yes he can.  Don’t look at your beloved, though,T.  Please stand a foot apart or, if walking, at least 3 feet behind.  And no touching, of course.  Whatever you do, don’t help your beloved with her coat. Don’t reach out a hand to steady her if she stumbles a bit on her heels. Don’t offer her any form of attention or comfort if she’s not feeling well or looks nervous at a big industry event like the GG’s.    And…now this is really important…if, during a movie premiere, Sam arrives while you’re talking to her and she blows you off while turning to look at Sam like her world is finally complete, there’s no need to worry.  Sure he’s the one fulfilling all her emotional needs now, but someday the show will be over and it will be your time to shine. Hang in there bud!
Tumblr media
Note:  I’m in the “not buying the engagement” camp, but despite the snark above, I have nothing against Tony.  I think he is a good friend and assistant to Cait and, in those roles, their behavior towards each other is perfectly appropriate.

Rating: Explicit Summary: “Do you remember our first night together … when you turned me around and …” I trailed off, allowing for him to fill in the blanks. “Aye…” He missed the heated look in my eyes and turned his head away from me, embarrassed. “Well, what I failed to mention that night is … it’s not the only way, but it is a way we could try.”

Tumblr media
“But now I … I wake up every day, and I find that I love you more than I did the day before.”
“I love you…”
A small smile graced his lips and I could see he was trying to hold back tears. My sweet Jamie. This was the man I married. We’d butted heads a bit since arriving at Lallybroch, but he was still the sensitive and loving man I had given my soul to, and left everything behind for.
I wrapped my arms around his neck and let him carry me to the bed. My heart swelled, and I felt tears spring to my own eyes with the knowledge I had just said ‘I love you’ for the first time and meant it with every fiber of my being. I had loved Frank, and I had meant it when I told him so, and part of me still did love him, but this was different. I had never felt a connection so powerful to another person.
I had fallen in love with Frank as a girl. I had been in awe of him, smitten by his good looks and intelligence. I had felt cared for, taken care of, but then I realized during the war I could take care of myself. Looking back, I think that was what made me feel so disconnected to him once we reunited. I had returned from the war a woman.
With Jamie, I was in a foreign land, surrounded by strangers, without the comfort and safety 1946 had to offer, and very much in a place where a woman needed to be cared for. Yet, I felt stronger and more confident than I ever had with Frank. I had fallen in love with Jamie as a woman.

A Tale of One Outlander Fangirl’s Experience…
Once upon a time, I read a series of books about a former WWII British nurse who travelled through a mythical set of standing stones and was transported to Scotland in the 1700s, where she met the love of her life in the form of a young Scottish Highlander…
Tumblr media
These books were later adapted into a beautiful TV series that has been filmed in Scotland, Prague, and South Africa, and is currently filming its fourth season which is set in pre-Revolutionary War America…
Tumblr media
The series’ casting directors found magic when they cast Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan as these two iconic star-crossed lovers…
Tumblr media
Who are also huge advocates for their respective charities, My Peak Challenge (Bloodwise Scotland) and World Child Cancer. They are also very supportive of each other’s charities and often tweet their support for them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The lead actress is a three-time Golden Globe nominee for Best Actress in a Television Series - Drama…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And is a BAFTA Scotland Best Actress on Television Award Winner.
Tumblr media
I was blessed with the opportunity to go to Seattle to ECCC last year along with some of my best girlfriends. Sam and Caitriona are truly two of the most beautiful people I have ever met. They are genuinely nice, kind people who made their fans feel special by taking time to talk with us, even as I shoved boxes of Thin Mints at them and blubbered nonsense while they signed my Season 1 Deluxe photo frame.
Tumblr media
No matter how many people think that they are their biggest fans, no one is a bigger fan of these two than these two; they are each other’s biggest fans! Always supportive and never jealous or resentful of the other’s accomplishments. Sam will burn down LA if Cait doesn’t win the Golden Globe (his words, not mine)! We feel you, Sam because we feel the same way!
Tumblr media
We couldn’t have been given a better Jamie and Claire, and for that I am truly thankful. I was, am, and will always be a supportive fan of both Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe, and my blog will reflect that respect.
Everyone’s fan experience is different; this just happens to be mine. I don’t know them personally and never will; but I have met them, they were nice to me and my friends, and that’s all that matters to me. Life is too short to focus on the negative, so I choose to see the beauty in this fandom instead. I have been fortunate to meet some of the nicest people (both virtually and in person) because of our mutual love and respect for Sam and Caitriona. I have laughed with, cried with, prayed for, and squeed with so many of you over the last few years. I know the atmosphere is different around here now, but I hope that someday we can find a way back to some sort of happiness together as a group; I’m not giving up hope for that ☺️.

Hello, Jess. First of all I'm sorry, this is going to be a biiig ask. But please don't give up on me. Part I: Well, I'm one of those people you call Antis or Monkeys. Or at least I thought I was. My big problem with a fact that Sam and Cait had a romantic involvement was always about the big negative impact it would have on the show. I've waited a long time for Outlander and I don't want anyone to ruin it. Many of us think so.
PART 2: I saw some show be completely ruined because of the involvement of the protagonists. I thought that way. I thought the show was more important than Sam and Caitriona, I always thought. Until I met them face-to-face this weekend in Seattle. I don’t have the “Shipper eyes” that you have, I don’t know what that is. My eyes are only very realistic eyes, so I’m perplexed by what my eyes have seen. This is the first time I write this…
PART 3 Dude it’s so hard for me to write this…. But, they are a couple. It’s fact. They love each other. They aren’t just good friends. There is something more powerful surrounding these two people. I believe in great friendships, but this is not the case. It was not a great friendship I saw, as I always thought. They complete. They love each other. Like a man loves a woman. Like a woman loves a man..
Part 5: Today I got home and I felt bad for being so selfish. I think most of us are selfish. We don’t care about their happiness, we just want to be right and protect the show. So I reflected that Outlander is this: just a show. And Sam and Cait are people, human beings . One day the show will end, but until then what will we have done with the lives of these two people with all our expectations and all our pressure?
Part 6: So today I’m retreating from the other side. I’m not going to use instagram anymore to support Sam’s possible girlfriends. I will not send more information to ******* and ****. I deleted a Twitter account that I used to do a lot of things involving them and other people. I want Sam and Caitriona to be happy. I don’t want to feel responsible for stop them from being free to live what they feel because as I said, my eyes are realistic. And what I saw in Seattle was real.
Wow I’m going to be honest here, this brought me to tears. I’m extremely impressed by your honesty and your willingness to change anon and I kind of want to hug you right now! Thank you for being brave enough to send this to me!  xoxoxo

I don’t know when I crossed from being an Outlander fan to a shipper. Don’t get me wrong, I’m both, but I’m identified as a shipper in this fandom. I can’t pinpoint when or where it happened; all I know is at some point I crossed some threshold and I’ve never been able to turn back.
One of the things that bothers me as a shipper is when people call us crazy. I’ve taken a couple of strolls around Datalounge and I’ve seen that word used: crazy shippers. Friends send me tweets from other Outlander fans or sometimes people in other fandoms about the Outlander shipper rabbit hole. I’m always offended by this; the people who think Sam is gay and bearding think WE are crazy?
But then I take a step back and realize that to someone who isn’t on the shipper side of the fandom - the nitty gritty shipper side - we DO seem ridiculous. They don’t follow tweets and likes and follows and locations and REAL locations and fan sightings and…the list goes on. They don’t deal in the day to day, they deal in the general picture of things.
I deal in narratives. When you piece together all the things we get to see that happen, they start to paint a picture. Of course, that picture, that narrative, is open to interpretation. For instance, people think shippers are crazy because some think Sam and Cait got married in secret. Of course that sounds insane, but when you look at what happened around that time - the weekend their friends were in London together, Luke saying Sam would disown him if he commented on hosting a bachelor party for him, the matching pictures of land posted at the same time on Instagram with a heart emoji comment by one of Cait’s besties, late night celebratory macaroons, and two gold bands on Cait’s hands in a Christmas video, one clearly being a man’s ring, doesn’t it become less “crazy”? Improbable, maybe, but crazy? No. Because piece it together and you have a narrative.
Or take the holidays around that time. Sam went off to Thailand, Cait went off to Costa Rica with her friends. There was a missed flight from both of them, which meant they both missed the PCAs were they were expected, except the only missed flights were out of CR. A figure on a boat that seems to have Sam’s broad shoulders and man bun sitting next to a leggy brunette. Super flirty, happy interviews together, a journalist saying she’s going to use a pin to keep them together, and then BAM, a crushing interview with powerful people in the room. Again, paints a narrative.
Or the time Sam cancelled a con because he had a work commitment. The man works himself to the bone: Outlander, MPC, Barbour, charities. Seems reasonable. Cait was off on a vacation at the same time. Only Sam wasn’t filming Outlander when he cancelled this con, he never showed up to the gym leading to being called out on instagram by his friend, he and Cait kept showing up online at the same time, and then he posted a weird stock photo of Edinburgh that Cait liked so fast Instagram couldn’t even refresh. Maybe all coincidences. Or maybe it’s a narrative.
There was a weekend last fall that Sam had another con in London. He and WCC followed each other on Twitter that weekend. Then WCC followed me, Jess and Julia at the same time. They started liking a LOT of blatantly shippery tweets and Instagram photos. Cait opened up their WIWY campaign and Sam finished it. Later, of course, she auctioned off her dress, Sam got the ball rolling on that and then personally thanked the winner. Interesting.
We could even talk BAFTAs last year. Terry was so excited to go, fans were so excited because both Sam and Cait were nominated. We expected great things. Then an anon pops in and says seating arrangements were changed last minute and Sam wasn’t happy about it. No Terry. But adjacents and one miserable looking Scot at the table the whole night. The first acting win for an actress who always keeps her cool but became misty eyed and flustered talking about her partner everyday on stage. A small part of a bigger narrative at play.
I could also talk about Golden Globes 2017 week, Cait’s birthday, the story that’s been spun for a year and a half now that has crater sized troll holes in it to those who are actually looking and watching. We could talk about all the many, MANY shipper tweets that have been liked, the shipper pics liked by their friends, the same online times when they’re time zones apart, the countless pictures where it looks like one of them are in the background. There are so many maybes. So many coincidences. As a fabulous friend said to me the other day, all of these coincidences are a pattern.
My point isn’t to try and prove anything here because it’s pointless. We all have our own sides and beliefs and nothing will change that. But when you sit back and look at the small intricacies of what has gone on for four years now (!), is it fair to call a group of fans crazy because they’ve strung words and images and actions together and see a painted picture? Of course we are responsible for choosing to still ship, those who still believe choose to do so, but can we acknowledge how most of us got here? We didn’t pull any of this out of thin air.
Maybe we are wrong. We’ve been told enough that we are. But maybe, just maybe, we aren’t. I think the fact that there is constantly a push and pull is why so many shippers stick around to discuss and speculate. Nothing is simple here. It’s a giant puzzle with so many pieces. It’s a bigger mystery than any plot on the show. And something about it isn’t right, which is part of the reason I stick around. That may make me a masochist, but not crazy.
