Comic panels
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As a comic book writer, when I write a comic script for each issue, I also plan how they will look in my mind when I fit the right panels onto a page. There is a variety of panels to choose from, all here on these sheets. These sheets show the different styles of panels and where they fit on the page. If anyone is looking to pursue their career to become a comic book writer, they are free to use this to plan how each page of their comics will look with the right panels.

The rebel riders - Character sheet
For the past few weeks, I have been working on a biker gang called the rebel riders who will be part of the Dasher series in Volume 2. While I proof read my latest issue, I originally wanted to create a gang of soldiers to attack a cargo ship in the Atlantic ocean. At the time, it occurred to me that people dressed up as soldiers don't necessarily have to be criminals. So instead, I chose to do a biker gang instead, consisting of three characters.
Tumblr media
For each character, I thought about the weapons they would have to make them threatening and unique.
Queen Roads, the gang leader, would have a metallic whip she uses as a belt, and her bike is equipped with a plow to shove cars up ahead of her out of the way.
Tumblr media
Bruce would be armed with a bazooka, but his bike will just be like any other bike, except decorated with horns to resemble a rhino.
Tumblr media
Tucker would have golden knuckledusters for close combat against Dasher, and his bike will be designed to crash through solid walls.
Tumblr media
Before I used Adobe Photoshop to create the characters, I wanted to make the character bio for them.
Bio: They are a biker gang obsessed with dominating the roads across the country and have a penchant for destroying any vehicle that crosses their path. Their thrill-seeking addiction to causing chaos on the road has transformed them into a dangerous group. With their impressive engineering skills, they can build, repair, and upgrade their motorcycles to such a degree that they become lethal on the road.
At times, they engage in bank robberies for the thrill of it and steal mechanical parts to upgrade their bikes and weaponry, enabling them to evade capture by the authorities. Queen Road views Bruce and Tucker as her bodyguards to protect her on the road from the police. For ten years, the police have consistently failed to capture and arrest them due to the gang's destructive capabilities, making them the most wanted group of criminals in the UK.
Charlotte Roads, often referred to as Queen Roads, earned her title by successfully leading her engineering crew, who shared her vision of a free and open world. Having grown up in a troubled environment, she often viewed herself as superior to those around her. Her interest in engineering originated from her ambition to create a kingdom that would oversee all the roads. Bruce the Smasher and Tucker the Buster, her loyal bodyguards on the road, had earned their nicknames because of their impressive weaponry. With his engineering skills, Bruce constructed a Bazooka cannon designed to destroy any pursuing vehicles. Meanwhile, Tucker was armed with pistols and a pair of brass knuckles for close combat. Despite their loyalties to Queen Roads, if any of them failed to do something for her, she would use her constructed chain-whip to beat them senselessly. The Rebel Riders aim to achieve worldwide fame, aspiring to be remembered as one of the greatest biker gangs in history. However, their ambition is jeopardized when they discover Dasher, the blue, speeding guardian angel of Blackpool. With his extraordinary powers, Dasher threatens to gain more fame and glory in the annals of history than the Rebel Riders.

Dasher - Book of activities and puzzles
Tumblr media
For nearly two months, I have been working on an activity book for children based on the Dasher comic series I have written. This activity book contains a load of images to colour, mazes to solve, word searches, and Dot-to-dot drawings. This product is one of many ideas I came up with for Dasher's merchandise. I believed that an activity book would be a fun and interactive idea to sell, once I set up my comic stall. It was inspired to me after I had a go at doing a colouring book given to me by a family member.
Creating an activity book was a new experience for me. While I was working on it, I had to look back on my previous work I've done and thought long and hard about what I should include. To print it as a physical copy, I used an online site called Mixam to stack the pages together, and added my front and back covers I created using Adobe Photoshop. To me, it felt the same as developing a comic for my Dasher series when I work on an issue.
Overall, I am pleased for how it turned out. For those who have not heard of me, you can go onto www.goodinmaginations.com to read about me and my work.

Teldons
For Dasher volume 2, I am going to introduce an idea of a creature called a teldon, a creature that is responsible for the hero's powers in the comic series.
I have already the bio of the creature, the poses, facial expressions, their life span and the body anatomy of a teldon.
Tumblr media
The teldons are energy-based lifeforms that exist in the form of a bubbly ball of light. They are symbiotic by nature, allowing them to enter alien host bodies to stay warm and sheltered. In return, the teldon offers the host the ability to unlock any power their body possesses.
The teldons are comprised of photons connected in a web strand that make up the body of a teldon. They can control their web of photons to create tendrils and use them for arms or legs when needed. They require heat to protect their photonic bodies from the coldness of space, and natural sunlight from the distant stars to sustain themselves and survive.
They live and hibernate in a unique environment called the revision nebula. Nebulas are usually made of gas and dust. However, the revision nebula is unique, comprising photons and radioactive particles supporting the teldons' survival. The name “Revision” reflects the teldons' ability to give powers to anyone when they enter a host body.
The teldons reproduce asexually in their own time. When a teldon is pregnant, its photonic bodies lose energy and give the rest to its offspring for nourishment. Each baby teldon is incubated inside an adult teldon as a single atom. Over time, the atom will continue to drain the parent of its energy until it takes its form and leaves the parent through its mouth. Adult teldons can carry between five to seven atoms in their photonic stomach.
However, a baby teldon can incubate inside a host the same way it could inside an adult teldon body. If the adult teldon is dying from natural causes and can no longer nourish their offspring, the atom must be removed from the dying teldon. The atom is not fully developed yet to pass through living tissue, so it would have to pass through the host’s eyes to enter the body easily. Even when the baby is undeveloped, it can still give the host their powers.
When a teldon lives inside of a host body, it uses its photonic web strand to connect to the host’s brain to communicate in a language the host would understand. It will appear to the host as a reflection of themselves or speak telepathically to them in their mind. A teldon can become defensive for their host when they’re on the verge of death or if the host is put in a vulnerable position that they are struggling to get out of.

Email update
Recently, I have discovered that my work email address [email protected] wasn't working properly. I have been told by an anonymous contact that she tried to email me through my work email and it bounced.
"In advance, I do apologies to anyone who has been trying to contact me and received no reply."
I have been working on to recover and fix this issue as I tried to recreate my work email on many of my accounts. I attempted to try on Gmail and Outlook, but those two email sights wouldn't let me ad in goodinmaginations.com at the end of info@. I even tried to recreate my work email through Wix, a software I used to generate my website. I had help from a family member to sort out my work email, but even then we went towards a few dead ends and couldn't fix the issue.
As of now, I decided an alternative plan. Instead, I plan to use my Outlook email as my temporary work email until I find a way to fix the problem. In addition, I have updated my business cards so I'll be sure to receive any messages from anyone who wants to contact me.
Tumblr media
This time, you can chose to email my through Gmail or Outlook with no trouble.

This here is my method of creating a character. If anyone is looking to develop a character of there own, the best piece of advice I would give is to make sheets of different head shapes, nose, eyes, eyebrows and chin designs and use all that to plan how you want your character to look. Then, depending on what gender your character is, you would us the body shape sheet to decide if your character body shape is trapezoid, rectangular, oval, triangular or an inverted triangle. Next, you get to draw your character at different angels using the character sheet and draw your character's pose beside their rotation.

The Illusionist
Tumblr media
The Illusionist will be another supervillain in the Dasher comic series with the ability to cast illusions to the surrounding crowd. I started with developing his suit design first before I went into designing the character.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The suit he wears under his red overcoat is designed to protect him from seeing his own illusions being projected onto him by accident. I plan for his suit to be his greatest strength, but also his weakness.
Bio:
Fletcher was brought up by a struggling family that lived on government benefits. They didn’t have enough money to support themselves. Fletcher's' father worked as a taxi driver, and his mother couldn’t work. Fletcher’s loving mother and father did everything they could to keep themselves from becoming homeless and support their son. The money given to them by the government was only enough to keep a roof over their heads and to bring food to their table. As Fletcher grew up, he practiced his magic tricks as his hobby, which became his calling to become a public magician for Blackpool.
Fletcher began his life as a street performer to entertain the public. He started his life as a magician in his early twenties to watch the public smile at him during his performances. Over time, he realized what he wanted was to crave attention to make himself known as better than every magician in the world. He had little money paid to him by the same government that supported his parents during his childhood, but it was only enough to help him live in a small apartment complex. Despite all his years as a self-employed street magician, Fletcher had asked for a role at the Blackpool circus time and time again but was continuously let down.
The day after he was given powers from “the shock,” he had trouble controlling his ability to cast illusions without effecting himself. His newfound powers prevented Fletcher from going out publicly to continue his performances. The first time he accidentally uses them on himself, he saw another version of himself mocking the real Fletcher, who does not have a better lifestyle. He was scared to death by how his illusions had affected him. One day, he met with Professor Conway in a café to ask for help managing his powers so he wouldn’t risk harming himself or others. Thanks to Professor Conway’s assistance in developing a suit to shield him from his illusions, he realizes his opportunity to prove himself to the circus. Unfortunately, his chances backfired when his powers did the opposite of what he intended. Fletcher's illusions scared the crowd and the performers on stage into fleeing the circus when he made everyone see their worst fears. He was immediately fired for his stunt and would never return to perform again.
His life was over at the point he couldn’t work as a self-employed magician anymore. Over time, he lived homeless on the streets as a failed magician, just as homeless as his parents were. He felt hopeless and let down by the public after everything he had done for them. He eventually realized that he could use his illusions to get away with robbing the banks of Blackpool so he could continue to survive on his own without getting caught. Despite being let down by the circus, he continues his life as a magician who steals from the rich and keeps the money for himself. Because of his illusions, the police could not find or catch Fletcher, as his newfound home was shielded from view thanks to his powers. He gave up his name, Fletcher Smith so that he would be remembered as the Illusionist.

Short cut
Tumblr media
For the second volume of the Dasher series, Short cut , A.K.A. Brenda Aiuchi, will be the anti-hero who will become Dasher super powered stalker. I plan for her to be the anti-hero who wants to do the right thing, but doesn't have the mental ability to stick to her sanity.
Short cut is a Japanese samurai with the power to create portals that help her go anywhere.
Tumblr media
I started building the character from scratch using Adobe Photoshop to design the samurai suit for her based on my research on samurai ninjas. The colours of her suit reflect on the colour of her powers. I thought about giving her a mask, or maybe use face paint to protect her real identity.
I started out designing the portal first before I went into designing the character. Then I thought about designing the samurai sword too.
Bio: Brenda was born and raised in Blackpool by her family, who run a Japanese takeaway named after the city Hiroshima to keep the memory of the people there alive in their hearts. Brenda’s mother, Hini Aiuchi, ran the takeaway. At the same time, her father, Kenji Aiuchi, practices teaching his daughter the art of samurai training. The samurai teachings were passed down as their family heritage to remember their ancestors' origins. She was raised to be a strong and capable girl who knew how to fight her battles. Her years of learning the ways of the samurai warriors and being home-schooled made her skilled and independent. But it has also isolated Brenda from the world and live a normal life. Brenda’s family has always forbidden her to attend a regular school, as the teachers don’t understand the traditions of the Aiuchi family. She would secretly watch romcoms and romances to get the taste of an everyday normal life. Her years of isolation had driven her to become obsessed with wanting friends. But her life had taken a massive turn after she was affected by “the shock”.
After “the shock,” Brenda gained the power to create wormholes that would take her anywhere she desired. This ability earned her the name “Shortcut.” In secret, she would use her powers to escape her home to explore the world, visiting the incredible sights she always wanted to visit. For a while, as she watched Dasher save lives on the news, his actions only inspired her to use her powers and samurai skills to do the same thing. For a month, she had stopped crime in Blackpool and every other place on the planet, but she was not yet publicized as everyone continued to stare in the direction of Blackpool’s guardian angel. As Brenda continued watching the news about Dasher, her inspiration for him transformed into a crush, and she realized she was in love with the blue-speeding hero. But her heart sinks after Brenda sees another girl kiss Dasher on the cheek outside of the victim's home. Her obsession with Dasher grew, and she was determined to do everything she could to win the hero’s heart, even if it meant killing anyone who got in her way. She was not going to stay trapped in a life of isolation ever again.

Dasher posters
For nearly a week, I have been working on some posters for my Dasher comic series to advertise my story. I wanted to make all of my posters look cinematic based on my research on posters for other comic books.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
What I like is the effect that it gives to the viewers, because three of them have backgrounds revealing where the series will be taking place.

Mistakes fixed
I have completed issue 6 of Dasher. However, before I could publish it onto kindle, I need to fix a few mistakes from my previous two issues.
Issue 2 was about 34 pages long, but my intention was to make it 32 pages long. I have taken out 2 pages that I don't think were needed for the story. Plus, at the end of issue 2, I did some experimenting with Dasher's speech bubbles to see how it would look if the outlines were white and the inside was blue. After doing some checking, I quickly realized that these speech bubbles weren't right for the story, because it had made the text barely visible for the readers to read.. So I made sure to correct the speech bubbles to make the text stand out.
I had comments about the front cover of issue 2 that it should have Dasher on instead of a giant helmet changing colour. Based on the comments, I have looked into the cover and decided on changing the design to make it more eye catching.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On the left is my original design, and on the right is the new and improved design of the front cover. Instead of changing the colour of the helmet, I have thought about showing the main hero changing from a normal kid into a superhero to reflect on the story as well as the title transformation.
After I have changed the front cover of issue 2, I had to re-upload it onto the back page of issue 1.
Tumblr media
These fixes were needed to better advertise the next issue for the readers. I have completed the changes and I am still trying to find the right opportunity to publish issues 1 and 2 again on kindle.
In the synopsis page of issue 1, there was a misspelling on one of the words. So I corrected the spelling and published issue 1 on kindle without regard to the changes that I needed to do in the first place. I am going to wait 72 hours to see if I will get the chance to publish issue 1 again with the changes I have made.

Issue 1 - Update
Tumblr media
Recently, I have had an anonymous feedback from someone about the front cover from issue 1 of Dasher, saying that the cover was missing something relating to the character. So I thought about adding the main character onto the reflection of the window as he looks out into the explosion of light as it happens in the story.
I have used Adobe Photoshop to make the update for the front cover. I have also updated the comic on Amazon and on Goodinmaginations so everyone can see it.

Memory library - layout
In issue 6, I was planning for the main protagonist to enter into their own mind and experience what their own world inside of their own brain is like. I have used Adobe Photoshop to build the layout of the mind inside each character for when they get corrupted by the villain.
Tumblr media
The mind will be like a library of memories stacked onto bookshelves. Each book is colour coded to indicate what kind of day the characters have had. In the middle of the library is a stair case. Each level of the library is represented as a year. The library is made up of a green crystal material which reflect on which colour the character would want to have for all of their memories.
In the map layout, you can see the section where I have written coma void. If a character has entered into a coma, then they would have to be outside of the library.
Tumblr media
In issue 6 when Dasher is getting corrupted, all the books will be infected with the swarm. The swarm will change all the books into red as a way of corrupting the mind of a character.

Front room - Layout
I have been working on the layout for one of the rooms in Lucas' house. In issue 6, I plan for there to be a scene where Lucas, Ben and Matthew are recovering after meeting the villain. I wanted to plan the layout of the from room so I can get a good idea as to how it will look in the comic.
Tumblr media
Before I got started on creating the viewpoints of the room, I wanted to list down the furniture so I can make sure I wouldn't forget to include them into the layout. This included the furniture that would be shown in the background of the viewpoints. I had drawn a sort of chart that would give me an idea as to what the furniture would look like in the viewpoints.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have drawn 3 viewpoints to get a good view of the room layout. As you can see, I made sure that everything is in place exactly as where it is shown on the layout map. The layout map is what I have used to plan where each piece of furniture will be located in the room.

Blackpool sewers layout
For issue 6 of Dasher, I wanted to plan how the sewers were are going to look by planning out the layout and the look of the sewer tunnels. I based my designs off my research of the sewer drains so I can get the look and feel of them for the next Dasher issue.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The difficult part was to find the images of what was inside the sewers. Based on what I found, I used Adobe Photoshop to draw these two images at the top. One tunnel made of pure concrete and the other build up by brick with large sewer drains on the walls. On these two images, I had added some dirty texture onto the walls to give it the feel of a place that was disgusting to be in, exactly like how a sewer would be.
Tumblr media
I thought about designing the inside of a sewer pumping station. In the comic, I thought about making Dasher's conflict in issue 6 take place in this exact spot. Again, this image was based on my research on sewers in the UK.
Tumblr media
This here is my texture display for the sewer images. I have made a list for each image so I know what texture is on which walls. I've also made a list of textures of the dirty water too.

Dasher - Volume 1 - covers
Since I've been working on a few issues of my comic book series Dasher, I decided to work on the covers for my first volume. I used Adobe Photoshop to design the front and back covers of the volume. It had taken me a few days to get them done before I could join all of my issues together.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On the front cover, I thought about giving each character different shades of blue to match the colours of the main protagonist, but upon thinking that, i thought that giving each character their own colours would be better. The backgrounds of the front and back covers are supposed to reflect on the event called "The shock" which was what gave Dasher his powers.
On the back cover, I did a bit of research into what explosions looked like so I can properly design the shock on the background. I had drawn a dark soot cloud above the shock. Based on the shapes of explosions I found in my research, they all had a dark soot cloud above which carried dust and smoke. I planned the synopsis before I got to work on the back cover, but the words needed tweaking before I was satisfied with the description.

Dasher - Issue 6 - front covers
In the story of issue 6, dasher will go down to the sewers of Blackpool to face of against a terrifying creature that threatens the lives of not just the residents of Blackpool, but the entire world too.
Currently, I have made 3 different versions of the front cover based of the story line of issue 6. Right now, I've focusing on which of the 3 is best suited for it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Once I make my choice, my next task will be to upload it onto the last page of issue 5 to tease issue 6 to the readers for when they finish the current issue.
