I have arrive to share something horrid with you all. The Narrator — the villain that He is — attempted to take our beloved’s life! That’s right! He concocted a terrible scheme, and tried to slay our beloved wife, and He said His plan was “this important” so guess what villain!? I am writing a callout post on tumblr.com! The thing that I feel like people miss when they say stuff like “Damsel’s an entirely hollow character with no personality.” “Damsel is nothing more than a mirror for your desires.” “Damsel’s only a real person in the lead up to Happily Ever After.” you know etc.. etc.. is that as much as Damsel is affected by all the shallowness and simplicity that comes from you deciding “of course we have to save her she’s a princess” she is also a reflection of the kindness you show her by deciding that “of course we have to save her she’s an innocent person locked in a basement.”

With that in mind it makes sense that she’s nothing but kind to you you’ve shown her nothing but kindness in turn. Of course she trusts you the main thing you did last time was trust her completely and decided that she deserves to be saved. In fact in some variations of her chapter she doesn’t even know that you were sent here to slay her just that you saved her so literally why would she not be kind to and trust the person who’s already shown they want to save her.

shipping the osc together is a beautiful thing because its like some mystery ship, where if one of them steps out of the room the other two start killing each other

its like gods worst relationship where none of them actually like each other and are gonna be the cause of societies collapse, and they all kinda have to pretend to like each other/put aside any conflict for the sake of "peace" and it's beautiful.

also im pretty sure they accidently invented communism but nobodies ready to talk bout that (ignore this part)

i don't think it's very fair to be demonizing the osc for creating a false utopia btw. i think the whole point is they don't know how else to build a community because they've been secluded from the rest of the world and don't know any better

in the same manner i don't think fan should be demonized either because he was also kept away from the world by the show and is regressing back into it because it's all he's ever known. and as we all know he responds very poorly to change

iiiv in general is set up in a way that requires every former contestant to have to not just figure out, but come to terms with themselves, and grapple with the fact that just because they're free of the show doesn't immediately mean that everything's okay . both the osc AND fan need to learn this and i'm sure it's bound to be an overarching theme

no one's in the right here but no one's in the wrong either. everyone is deeply traumatized by the show and they're all just responding to it differently. you're meant to sympathize with the characters in this regard, not pick a side as to who's right and who's wrong

what if the "poppy came from the cobs kernel that didn't get crushed" theory comes true BUT it's a garten of banban situation where they ended up with bits and pieces of cobs' memories as a result of being born from dismembered parts of his body. like they're still their own person with their own personality and feelings but they're still a part of him. and he's still a part of them. and it would mirror how even though the contestants are their own people they all carry a piece of mephone's psyche with them, and poppy's existence would force them to come to terms with that and what it implies. does anyone understand what i'm talking about. i'm really betting on more than two of my followers being familiar with garten of banban lore here ,

Thoughts disorganized but I keep thinking about how Cabby keeps... overcompensating, in the latest episode.

"Cooperation, not competition" because she can't let herself be competitive.

She can't let the competition become an obsession for her to win, because others misinterpreted that as Her Trying To Hurt People.

She doesn't even add onto what OJ and Suitcase are saying in regards to their struggles with leading.

What OJ and Suitcase learned from Inanimate Insanity can just as easily be applied to Cabby, too, and yet she says something that initially sounds so impersonal. A bad first impression. And yet it is personal because it means EVERYTHING. She's STILL victim blaming herself; if she had just left a good first impression, then she wouldn't have been hated!

She's leaving nothing BUT good first impressions now.

She even seemed to get a little frustrated during when Fan was criticizing the society... and then goes right back to being comforting and happy.

Perhaps more episodes will change this, but she seems to be putting in the most active work of the OSC, working CONSTANTLY to the point she's late to some meetings. Keeping track of the complaints. Is she overworking? Is she letting herself have breaks?

I'm so concerned for her. She does seem really happy at being allowed to lead and organize and being respected for once. But I also fear her mental health is far, far worse than she's letting on. I hope that, on top of the admiration she's been getting, she's been getting the support she needs, too. :(

I think this is a good time to bring up Suitcase’s expression here (for context Cabby is saying “so you just want things to go back to the way it was..?” Girl is horrified 😭

I've been thinking about how, even in this one episode, I feel like Suitcase is the one pushing the hardest to maintain the faux-peaceful state they're at. Not that the other two aren't right there with her but like, her starting line in the song is literally, "We're all as happy as can be!" when that is clearly not the case. I've also hooked onto her line about making sacrifices to keep it drama-free, like. To me that gives a little bit of paranoid that things are going to spiral out of control like they have before if I don't maintain this energy vibes. wonder where that's gonna take them
