New pinned! Hi! I'm Elly, and this is a fandom blog I originally created to post updates about my AO3, chalcedony. Now, I mostly just reblog fandom-adjacent stuff here (because I unfortunately don't have a ton of time or energy to write fic lately). I mostly post about RPGs and TTRPG podcasts, but I occasionally like other stuff, too. I'm not actively listening to DnDads anymore, but I still post about S1 and 2 sometimes. Hopefully I'll resume some of my unfinished DnDads fics someday, too... :')

Had a dream last night that I was talking with an anthropology professor who had found three little statues resembling Tenna, Spamton, and Kris from Deltarune 😭 and I kept trying to convince him that they weren’t historical artifacts; they were video game characters, but he wouldn’t listen. He used drawings of them in my sketchbook as evidence that they were like ancient gods or something 😭😭

I did not, in fact, go to sleep (but I will now. but first here's this kudos button. For now it's a fake button (it's a separate button at the bottom of the fic, but not actually alongside the bookmark and comment buttons etc., and it doesn't actually leave kudos), but I'm trying to figure out how to make the actual kudos button look like this... but it involves me including the image link inside the display CSS and for some reason I can't find a solution for it. I will power through tomorrow)

Finally FINALLY created the UT/DR AO3 skin I have been wanting to make for ages but was too lazy to sit down and work on for more than 30 mins lol. Took lots of trial and error and cobbling together code from across the internet haha, but I have a solid template now for dialogue boxes with character portraits, and it's fairly user-friendly :) It's not perfect (text box size is kind of wonky in some browsers, and the fonts default to your device's default monospace font unless you have one of the UTDR fonts installed), but it works! I'll post the code along with the fic I'm planning to use it for sometime soon

First, I still want to add more little details specific to my fic plans (custom kudos button, interactive dialogue, etc.) but yayyy it's finally coming along ^_^ Hopefully I'll be able to fiddle with the code some more tomorrow at work (bc I am at the store like all week; the family member I cover for is out sick 😭)

ANYWAY HI I hope all of you lovely mutuals of mine are doing well... I turned 21 yesterday! Wahoo! And uhhh that's about it lol I haven't been up to much. Trying to stay off social media more but I can't resist the allure of Tumblr I fear. Okay goodnight :3

Hi! I think tracked down the right account…I am trying to use your mock Spotify ao3 work skin but when I try to use it the font type and size don’t change and the songs are all the way over to the left instead of the middle. I tried to play around with it but I’m not super familiar with coding and this is the first time I’m using a work skin so I am struggling a bit. Is there something I’m missing? I believe I correctly added the work skin but I’m not sure because it looks different. Would love some advice (:

Hi! Sorry if it was difficult to track me down haha! I just put the skin on anon since I didn't want it clogging up my regular writing pseud :') but I am totally happy to help and so glad you reached out!

If you haven't edited the CSS (the part you paste when creating a new work skin) at all, then it's most likely an HTML issue. These can be super finicky, and a small error can throw off the whole thing, so double-check your code line by line (especially the beginning and end of each line) to make sure you haven't missed any elements. A missing <p> or <span> element could mean the song list is no longer inside that section, hence why it's defaulting to the left of your screen. Font size is controlled by <span> elements defined in the CSS, so if you're having issues there, it could either be that your <span> elements are missing something in the HTML or that you changed something in the CSS. The same goes for the font/typeface itself, which should be Helvetica (or your browser's default sans-serif if Helvetica isn't available) as defined in the CSS unless you've tweaked it. Unless by "font type" you mean whether the font is regular, bold, italicized, etc.; in that case, you can control font weight with <b> (bold) and <em> (italics) elements.

If you have edited the CSS at all, it would most likely be an issue with the very first section under "#workskin .spotify{" since that is where the <p> width (the centering of the playlist) and font family/size/weight/etc. are defined. The default max-width element is 320px in a table display; this is what controls the centering (although, again, other errors might also affect this). To adjust the font size, typeface, weight, etc., you can search for the element whose font you want to change (eg. the playlist title is "#worksin .spotify{ .playlist{" and below that are font stylization options like "font-weight: 600; font-size: 200%; font-family: 'Helvetica', sans-serif;") and experiment with tweaking the numbers until you end up with a size that suits your needs :)

So sorry if my explanation is too confusing/vague or if my code is a total mess lol 😭 I'm not an expert myself by any means, so it's veryyyy possible I made an error somewhere in my upload haha.
