What was it like starting off as a beginner artist?

I dunno how to answer that sorry lol

For advice I think like. Don't worry too much about improvement as a beginner. If you do you'll probably just burn yourself out on art early and quit

Just have fun with it, even you don't think your art is good yet. Mess around

Like as a kid I was kinda scared of being cringe. Like making deviantart OCs. And I regret that cause like, I think messing around without restriction early on is really important. It's good for learning

Do you have any tips or a tutorial on how you learned anatomy for character art as a beginner?

What do you mean by character art?

Uhh

For anatomy in general Proko's a good source. Covers like every body part in detail. Also Sinix

Referencing and drawing actual people is also helpful. I usually use this site

Also referencing other artists is really helpful. Seeing how they simplify body parts into shapes

I'm not really sure what advice to give to a beginner lol sorry

I guess the main thing with art in general is like, practice. Like, you can watch all the tutorials in the world but it won't mean much if you don't start applying what you learn

So like, mix of practicing drawing and just having fun, taking a step back and asking yourself/others what you can improve, look up tutorials and references and study them, practice by trying to implement what you've learned from tutorials, repeat

How did you find out about Undertale?

This, and then I watched Jacksepticeye's playthrough

How did you develop you're pixel art style for Undertale stuff?

Uhhh

When I first started making sprites I was basically just making my own versions of UT's sprites, but trying to improve them. Like adding shading, using more colors, making them bigger. They weren't great since I was just starting but. Good exercise I think. Gets you thinking about how you can improve existing sprites

Then I watched tutorials on pixel art on YT. Mainly Mort Mort and James Brandon Greer I think

Got feedback online, mostly from the pixelart subreddit and its Discord server

Started to try emulating other pixel artists I liked. Like animeandpuppies is great. Also games that I think looked good, like Mother 3

Started to limit the amount of colors and antialiasing/shading I used. Restrictions are important in pixel art

Oh Ditchu's also a great reference. Like this one piece informed so much of my current style. The dark purple, the colored outline, the pose, the shapes, the details, the antialiasing. Great sprite, massive inspiration that artist

Having characters in poses is cool, makes em feel more alive compared to neutral stance facing directly towards the camera

This scene is from unfinished Agri Birds second trailer. It was meant to be released the along with the real Agri Birds game. Unfortunately, despite all the concept art and hard work, it got cancelled.
