PMI and Oracle Partner on Construction Industry-Specific Coursework

Phase 1 of launching an ITSM platform involves a scan of the network environment and the automated discovery of configuration items. Naturally, once an ITSM platform is launched, there are other aspects of management that need to be considered, including incident response (technologies and processes that help detect and respond to service disruptions) and requests for change that fine-tune the platform to user needs.

Coach Washington's Texas Rangers

Chad Greenslade is an experienced IT project manager based in Dallas, TX. He is a member of the local chapter of the Project Management Institute. As a former high school baseball player, Chad Greenslade continues to play recreational baseball and softball, in addition to his support of the Texas Rangers.

The Texas Rangers joined the Major League Baseball (MLB) in 1961 as the Washington Senators, and then relocated to Texas for the 1972 season. The team’s most successful period came under head coach Ron Washington. Washington joined the team following an 80-82 season in 2006, which was the team’s sixth losing season in seven years.

Washington’s impact was not immediate. The Rangers won only 75 games in his first year, but by 2009 had improved to 87 games. The 2010 team won 90 games for the first time in over a decade. More importantly, Washington led Texas to the team’s first playoff appearance since 1999. The Rangers survived deciding games against the Tampa Bay Rays and New York Yankees before falling to the San Francisco Giants in the World Series, the franchise’s first.

Washington set a new franchise record with 96 wins in 2011. The team progressed through the post season with more confidence and ultimately faced the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series. The Rangers held a 3-2 series lead but dropped Game 6 in extra innings and ultimately lost the series in seven games. The team won 91 games the following season, but they lost a wildcard game to end the season. Washington spent two more seasons with the team.
