Letitia: How are the rest of your gang? All the roommates coping well?

Chadwick: Michael is over with Candice and Noah most of the time, but they're doing great. I can't figure out if they're back together or not.

Chadwick: Lupita is great, but that's nothing new. She's very strong with everything going on.

Letitia: All the paper work side, yes. I’ll have a lot to test when I go back to the lab.

Chadwick: Ah, I know paperwork well. Terrible and tedious.

Letitia: Working from home, it’s crazy. I hate not being in the lab. I wanna leave the house.

Chadwick: Can you do that kind of work from home? What crazy computer set up must you have.

Come on Lupita, you act like that’s a new thing and hasn’t always been the case.

I’ve still been going into my office, I’ve been working longer hours making sure everything is okay and things like that, you know. So, most nights I’ve been picking up take out on my home and it’s got to the point where I just phone one place and the guy knows my order and when to have it ready. I may have an issue.

To my sister, 

I know that we tease each other a lot and are constantly going back and forth. It isn’t often that we get serious with feelings. There is a rather large age gap between us, which usually makes it difficult for most siblings to be close. I’m lucky enough to have you around and to have you close. 

I don’t tell you this enough, but I’m extremely proud of you. You’re doing incredibly work. Especially for your age. You’re extremely smart and you’re going to change the world. More than I ever will. 

Of course, you’re a woman of color in a male dominated field in a world that’s already so prejudice against both. I have experienced and seen acts of prejudice and hatred my entire life, simply because of the color of my skin. People are cruel and they’re ignorant. You’re going to come across a lot of these challenges in life, as I’m sure you already have. Especially since we live in a predominantly white town. 

I wish that I could protect you from these things. I wish I could protect you from the things people will say and the things they will do and how you’ll have to fight so much harder to get the same outcome as others. 

However, my worries are less because I know that you’re strong. You’re so strong and I know that you won’t back down. If anyone has the willpower to make it to the top, against all odds, it’s you. 

I love you. I’m proud of you. I believe you in.

Did you have children?

I have one daughter, yes. Between her and my other God baby, I have my hands full.

I might have had too many friends in my twenties. I probably said yes too much, and then I had to learn how to say no. How to get away in order to work on stuff.

I have actually heard this and I have to admit I’ve been very tempted to try it out. Thank you, sister, for that random fact of the day.

So, on today’s fun facts. Did you know that it only takes the strength you need to bite through a raw carrot to bite your finger off? However, your brain stops you from being able to do it. I don’t want to know how science knows this but I feel bad for the person who had to find out the hard way.

Oh, yes, he’s talented so I’m sure it has to be good. I’ll have to check it out then. I seem to have lots of time on my hands right now.
