Thinking about the first time kaeya meets childes family. And he gets overwhelmed in a good way because oh this family actually really love each other. Like yeah there's issues, but everything is coated with love. And, for once, kaeya finally experiences unconditional love and OH do Tonia, Anton, and tuecer get attached to him immediately.

Tonia turning to Childe like: so when's the wedding. You have to marry him now.

Kaeya, who has only experienced familial love when he was supposed to betray it one day, who has issues with the concept of family in general and what it means to be a good son, seeing a family just warm and accepting and loving of each other-- and they immediately love him, too! Kaeya's got a place where he can be more than his mask, because Ajax's family would accept him even when he's a little shy and closed off, just as readily as they'd accept the charming Kaeya.

i think, in Ajax's tiny bedroom when they're squished together on a twin bed after meeting his family, Kaeya would have to swallow back tears

i want a skirk and rosaria friendship/interaction so bad and chaeya will be the connection. rosaria always seem to be clowning kaeya and the stupid things he does for love. idk if skirk would really care enough to roast childe's relationships, but i just really think it'd be fun.

i imagine rosaria just saying how kaeya goes crying to her like a pathetic drunk man when he and childe gets into fights. skirk remembering how childe also did went on begging her to spar with him before - which was during the time he needed an outlet to his frustration with his relationship. like even if he's repeatedly getting beat up easily by skirk, he keeps asking for more rounds

kaeya, who turns so child-like in diluc’s presence.

he’s playing it cool- but can’t deny the little pangs of hope and joy when diluc tolerates his presence for awhile longer than usual.

kaeya, who after all these years, wants to put his hand over diluc’s shoulder, just like the old days.

he lingers close but not close enough, wary to make sure his fingers don’t brush his brother’s side by instinct.

he holds back not out of spite, but because he’s scared he’ll ruin the seemingly good thing that’s going.

these days, sometimes, the two of them can walk side by side and chat as though nothing had ever come between them. kaeya was scared to strike a cord and crumble it all, and what if that cord was triggered by diluc’s shoulder?

meanwhile diluc, who noticed his brother on edge, and was honestly wondering why he wouldn’t go through with it. he was prideful, yet he stood extra still when kaeya’s hand came close, careful not to flinch.

but alas, the hand never met his shoulder, and the brothers would go on to know every thought of the other, except for how much they wanted each other.

chaeya angst legit makes me wanna kill myself. especially when you kin both freaks. so you have to go through the pain of both sides. this is torture

childe who would stupidly offer his all to someone so selflessly. too much, to the point that it might suffocate someone. but he can't stop because he needs to prove how capable he is of providing love. and to have his offers of trying to love someone further get rejected, hurts like hell.

and kaeya who would shut off completely the moment it gets too close. never giving anything too much from the fear of getting too vulnerable even in the tiniest bit. to be always anticipating the end of every relationship. how he can barely do anything but watch his avoidance sabotage what they have. and because he *does* need that relief of finally getting left/abandoned — to soothe himself of the guilt from all the affection he had received from his lover. if someone stays with him for too long, he gets suffocated.
