Brij 84 Kos Yatra is a Hindu pilgrimage which covers 252 kms. During the 84 Kos Parikrama, you'll find various sacred places of great significance and beauty. In the journey of your soul, every deity or temple you visit is a new experience gained by your soul.
What Is Brij 84 Kos Yatra?
About The Brij Yatra.
Brij 84 Kos Yatra is a Hindu pilgrimage yatra which takes place in the Brij region. Lakh of Brij bhakts take part in this yearly yatra. The main motive of this 84 Kos Yatra is to connect the devotees to the supreme power, Krishna. Devotes travel for 252 kms in a few days and visit certain places where Shri Radha Krishna performed various Leelas.
History of Brij 84 Kos yatra
As written in Krishna Leela in 10th Skanda of Shrimad Bhagwat Maha Puran, Lord Brahma never believed that a child known as Krishna is a God. For him Krishna was a boy who used to steal half eaten from his friends and drink Chhaachh (also known as butter milk). For him, God is way above such things and a child like Krishna can’t be one. Brahma decided to steal cows and his Gop Gwaal friends. After stealing them from the forest, Brahma placed them in a deep sleep in the Brahma Lok.
Krishna already knew about Brahma’s intentions, but he never stopped Brahma from doing so. Shri Krishna decided to end Brahma’s illusions and he took the form of his Gop Gwaal friends and cows. Nobody came to know about this for an year and thus Krishna continued with his plans. Brahma wanted to see how Krishna does without his friends and decided to visit Krishna. He was amazed to see Krishna playing with the same Gop Gwaal friends and cows. Utterly confused Brahma pleaded to God to end his confusion. To his surprise, Krishna came as God to clear Brahma’s confusion.
On realizing his mistake, Brahma ji was disheartened and wanted to get rid of his sin. He pleaded before Krishna and asked for his forgiveness. Brahma then came to know that this action was not an insult to Krishna, but to the whole Brijwasis and Brij Dham. The only way to remove this sin was to do a Parikrama of the Brij Dham with deep sentiments for the place. Ever since, the 84 Kos Yatra has started and it is believed that doing a complete Parikrama wash your sins.

History of Brij 84 Kos yatra As written in Krishna Leela in 10th Skanda of Shrimad Bhagwat Maha Puran, Lord Brahma never believed that a child known as Krishna is a God.
