my favorite online internet angel that rots in her bedroom all day!! i love needy streamer overload sm, my thoughts on it are below

being terminally online since ten years old, i related a lot to ame. i found reality hard to cope with, so i would turn to the internet to make friends and express myself. i was the weird kid growing up, and i really only had one or two real friends at a time. i felt like nobody in the real world really cared about me, so i used the internet to escape. so needy streamer overload really hit different for me.

i think its genius that the "good" endings are the most boring, and the "bad" endings are the most well thought out. nso isnt a game about taking care of a normal girl who just wants to become a streamer. its about an internet addicted, severely mentally ill person trying to justify her existence through streaming. it makes you get all the endings (which are mostly bad ones) because it wants to show you just how horrible ame's life can become because of her self destructive nature. 

the ending is bittersweet. while some people find that its a good thing that ame is doing things on her own now, the file secret.txt tells another story. she plans to make a new p-chan in her mind, one that will be so fleshed out that she will "never wake up". she plans to continue her life as it is, just with better delusions. 

i think nso is a cautionary tale about the internet. it can really mess up how one sees the world, especially when they already struggle with things like mental illness or drug addiction. as ironic as it is, its a comfort game to me, because it shows that everything ive struggled with as an internet addict is valid, and that im not alone in my struggles.
