I’ve been trying to make Chara into an actual kid instead of an adult in Skyrim and Fallout 4, but it’s proving to be far more difficult than I had assumed at first. Either I get a mod that gives the player character a child’s body (which introduces about a million bugs), or I just use the adult one, shrink it down, and try to adjust it so Chara looks more child-like, which is way less buggy and what you see here, with Chara sandwiched between a blue cat man and some dude in a robe for scale (zoom the pic in for facial details and so on). I’ll post some more shots soon and you can decide whether my efforts have paid off or not.

It’s been a few months, let’s check in on how Chara is doing in other games...

I don’t have anything clever or informative about this shot. I just really like how it turned out. It’s got a good vibe.

So a while ago I put Chara and Frisk as adults into their own house in the Sims 4. Frisk could make friends easily, but Chara just normally wasn't up to it, preferring instead to work on gardening alone, and would just end up having "Awkward Conversation" interactions if I tried to force it, so after a while I just let Chara be a loner and enjoy the flowers.

Recently I started playing again and decided to play as Sans and Papyrus in a different house in the same neighborhood. The first night I took them to the Nightclub lot  where a bunch of random Sims from the neighborhood gather, because Papyrus wanted to meet and brag to a bunch of people, and Sans wanted to tell jokes. I let the game run for a bit with no input just to see what would happen while I was taking care of some RL stuff. After a while I checked in on it, and Chara had shown up to the lot and apparently had really hit it off with Sans, and they had become really good friends, to the point where now Chara calls every day wanting to hang out with the SkeleBros and while I haven't been able to get Chara and Papyrus to befriend each other, Chara's friendship with Sans is super solid, all without any input from me.

And somehow, I find joy in that.

(You'll note that in the screenhot Chara is wearing winter clothes because I have "Seasons" installed; the normal green-yellow striped shirt is Chara’s spring and fall outfit. Also, Sans is a weird gray dude instead of a skeleton, though I did make it so his outfit is exactly the same no matter what he's doing, even if it's sleeping, swimming, or going to a formal party.)

This hairstyle is probably closer to Undertale canon than the one I liked that I posted earlier, but I dunno...it’s kinda eeeeeeggggghhhhhh.....

This is the afterlife in Skyrim, and the teeny speck of green in the bottom center is Chara escaping from it, in what I assume is the prequel to this blog, or possibly Undertale itself.

Over the course of this blog I’ve tried to design Chara to match the version I have in my head (since the source material isn’t exactly, well, detailed), with varying degrees of success and failure. This one, from a recently-restarted playthrough of Fallout 4, is probably the closest I’ve gotten so far.

Chara may have taken Flowey’s advice and moved on, letting Frisk and company be, but that doesn’t mean that Chara has forgotten about them.
