Okay, I tried and failed to type this into a tidy essay, so I'm just going to attach screenshots of my NWOD rambling and let you be the judge of my post-binge-watch brain.

TLDR: DRS3 just blew some of my last remaining Nadakhan characterization questions wide open and solidified a bunch of others, but ONLY if Arrakore's system of granting wishes (no holds barred + ability to deny in normal circumstances + no per-person limit) is the standard ruleset for djinn wish-granting and Nadakhan's is just him cheating to dodge expectations and look more powerful to the puny humans he ran away to bully. Apologies for the insane formatting and awful grammar - this was pure stream of consciousness screaming analysis. Someday they may prove me wrong, but for now? Fun thought experiment.

I did not get into the implications of Da Triangle overriding anything, so I'll do that here, but there isn't much to say. I'm assuming Da Triangle is in the same soul controlling artifact family as the sword of souls - once you're in it, your power is subject to the CARRIER'S whims and not yours, hence why Arrakore can't deny any wishes while he's trapped.

BUT THAT DOESN'T DEFEND JELLY BONES.

Also, while I'm at it: we know Nadakhan's NOT that weak. Even with the source of his magic actively crumbling, the guy is able to reverse time. He's just kind of lazy, really! Which I should get around to writing more about, but not tonight!

u can talk about jay’s issues in skybound without undermining or downplaying nya’s . you can also talk about skybound without turning nya’s issues into jay’s . her death traumatized him, yeah, but it traumatized her too, to a much stronger degree . SHE died . she felt her heart rate slowing until it stopped completely . she had to lie there waiting to die because she knew that it would inevitably happen and that there was nothing she could do about it

nya being wed to nadakhan also was not about jay . she was a teenager being forced into a marriage with a grown man that intended to make her life hell along with the lives of her friends . she had to pretend to be in love with him just to buy time . and then her autonomy was stripped away from her and her consciousness was replaced by a woman that did not deserve to be in her body . it obviously scared everyone , but it happened to nya , SHE was the most terrified out of anyone . it’s horrible to even imagine you being unable to control yourself and having to watch your body be utilized by someone else while you remain helpless. it isnt fair to act like her traumas affected the others more than they affected her . i’m not saying the others WEREN’T affected , but … come on . they’re her issues

they were all traumatized in different ways that season , each individually , and they each deserve to have their issues acknowledged . i am most definitely not the person to be talking abt this issue bc i only talk about jay all the time ever but. i do genuinely want to talk about the others more i am just terrifiedd of backlash and being wrong lolllll

only bad thing about skybound (don't.quote me on that) was that nadakhan never found out that nya was the one who indirectly destroyed djinnjago. like. hello. ik that would have been WAY too complicated to include and cover in ten 20 minute episodes but it's disappointing that no one seems to realize that in fic either hskshkb like. yeah the one who killed your family and destroyed your entire civilization is the one you want to marry. yeah to get to her you have to go through her fuckass will-they-won't-they boyfriend. honestly surprised he didn't just start actually killing.
