what if you were homophobic and misogynistic and your team was comprised of your girlfriend (who you literally project your white supremacy fantasies onto), her blue, sulfuric boytoy who’s better than you, his bisexual friend, her pet dragon, and her roommate (a teen girl from the future with insane telekinetic/pathic powers) AND you were british.

My main issue with the first two episodes of Born Again is that they have so clearly introduced new characters to specifically fill the roles of characters they have fridged or otherwise discarded and a) it's not working, Matt's inner life still feels incredibly and obviously empty, and b) it feels all the more insulting because really none of it was necessary or the right choice.
Way back in the day they fridged Urich, which is a decision I made peace with but still stings because there was such undeveloped potential when it came to his relationship with matt, and now that both foggy and karen are gone, too, the show needed someone to know Matt's secret and be someone he can work with in a shadier capacity, so now we have... Cherry...
Because there's no Karen or Elektra present, Matt get's a new girlfriend, who comes with the bizarre choice of pulling Heather Glenn's name up out of Frank Miller hell but giving her none of the traits or backstory of comics Heather, which makes me beg the question of why use her name at all. Not to mention the chemistry is lacking, to say the least, and thus far every time they've been on screen together I've only thought about how that time could be better spent showing us the far more complex and storied relationship between Karen and Matt (not necessarily in a romantic capacity, mind you). Heather feels shoehorned in so they could insert a therapist for the Fisks who would have other ties to the narrative, not because they actually thought about giving the Matt/Heather relationship chemistry or interest.
The biggest insult of all to me however is the complete misuse of Kirsten. Her and Matt have one of the most interesting relationships in DD comics, romantic or otherwise, and reducing her to a side, bestie/partner character is not using her to her full potential and also setting her up for failure because she cannot and will not be what Foggy was when he was filling those positions.
TL;DR Matt's inner life, and the show to a further extent feels empty, and no amount of shoving new characters in is going to fix it. you're putting duct tape over a (literal) bullet hole

They made such a fucking stupid move
As we sit here almost on the eve of Daredevil Born Again, I have to just say it now: I will be genuinely angry if they kill off Foggy. I know it’s the prevailing fan theory at the moment and I wouldn’t be surprised if they go this route, but after reading Daredevil’s entire solo publication history, I feel qualified to say that it just doesn’t make sense. Foggy has been around as long as Matt has— he’s an unerring presence in daredevil stories whether he and Matt are getting along or if they aren’t speaking. His loyalty to Matt and his love for him even when Matt is actively tearing his own life to pieces are central to most DD stories. Killing Foggy off in the first or second episode of the first season, as people have been predicting they will do, would be depriving MCU Matt of the opportunity to have any and every important mattfoggy storyline there is. It hollows out Daredevil’s universe, and would take away a driving motivation for Matt (protecting foggy and being worthy of foggy’s friendship and admiration). I think it will be supremely stupid if they go down that road.
Now, killing Karen off on the other hand… she’s dead in the comics and has been for decades. Her death continuously affects Matt when it comes to how he feels about himself and the choices he makes. It changed him forever. Bullseye killed her, and we know he’s prominent in the show. I LOVE Karen and would hate to see her go, but I could respect it because it has textual backing.
