...OMG. I fucking broke during the scene when Jax crashed out. It's so clear he is just trying to keep his shit together. He is trying to suppress his emotions, as well as what happened to Ribbit (plus Ribbit is clearly important to him since his door was seen in this frame here on 24:14) And when he immediately pushed Pomni away during the hug, it was clearly his attempt at not getting close to her (since I have a feeling that he blames himself for what happens to the others that abstracted.
With Ragatha mentioning she couldn't help Jax, this means he likely wasn't always like this. Clearly this 'funny character' facade is an act, perhaps even a defense mechanism. But my poor man has to eventually open up, otherwise his guilt is gonna eat at him. Hell, he had a panic attack/nearly abstracted not long after his crash out. He's got a ton of baggage, and I'm all here for it.
Knowing more about him, I've grown to even pity him, as he seems to clearly be blocking any sort of attachment to the others, is trying to suppress his own issues, and shows that he likes to be in control, this also likely being another coping mechanism many people with trauma experience. Idk I just wanted to ramble, might add more...but yeah. Awesome episode, each character was explored perfectly and I loved seeing how Jax and Pomni developed as a duo... :)
