"I don't think you can just go and cut trees by yourself." She said, "Plus there's no way I'll let you do it alone even if I'm not going to be much of a help." Braxton stopping made her stop in her tracks as well, looking up at him. Seeing him frown made her feel guilty. "I am happy." She said and it was the truth, she's happy that they're doing something completely mundane as tree buying, happy that they're celebrating christmas, happy that he's doing okay. Is she at her happiest? Probably not, but she was happy for what they have. For her things could've been worst. Charlotte smiled and wrapped her arms around his waist. "I'm really glad." That you're here. That you're trying. Even if I know you're sad. Before she could even feel the tears forming, she quickly gave him a quick peck on the lips before pulling away. "We need to get going if we still want that tree."

"Big trees are the only way to go. Even if I have to go and chop one down myself." He insisted, only half joking. He grabbed his coat of the hook by the door.
Braxton stopped and turned to look at her. “They’re the sound of happiness. Are you? Happy I mean.” He frowned at his question. If she wasn’t then it was simply something else he could add to the list of this he failed at.

"It's nice to hear that I sound like a 12 year old going to Disneyland?" She snorted, looping his arm over her shoulder as she moved closer to him.
"Well, it would be shame to have a tiny tree this year, not with all the decorations we have." Then she gave a little pout. "Of course you're going to be the one to decorate the top cause I can't reach them."

Braxton laughed at her enthusiam, kissing her back easily. “Don’t apologize for being excited. Your squeals are joyous sounds. It’s nice to hear them.” He told her, truthfully. Her boyfriend kissed her forehead before taking her hand.
"Absolutely." Braxton nodded, leading her towards the door.. "We have to go before all the good ones are gone. I refuse to have a Tiny Tim Christmas tree. It’s simply not an option."

I worry, a lot. It's a trait I can't get rid of.
That's good to hear, it's nice to have time off for yourself. I do hope Marcus wouldn't be giving you a hard time especially since it's the holidays.

There was nothing that could've possibly wiped the smile off of her face. Hearing him say that they were going tree shopping was enough to get her excited for the holidays. It also made her optimistic about the New Years, not just the celebration of that day but rather that hopefully they can look forward to a new year.
She barely could contain her glee as she gave a small squeal, reaching up to cup his face and pull him towards her for a kiss. "Okay, sorry. I'm excited." Charlotte grinned settling down on her feet.
"Do we go now?" She said not bothering to hide her excitement in her voice.

"I know. I couldn’t very well go buy one on my own. It takes the fun out of it." He said, smiling up at her. Braxton could easily tell she was shocked by his sudden cheer demeanor. "I had to check to see if these light were any good. That way we could buy new ones while we were out if they weren’t." He told her, standing from his spot on the couch.
"We’re pretty much set only a couple of light are out of service. Nothing drastic." Braxton informed, watching her carefully. He his hands rested on her hips lightly as he waited for her to say something.

She didn't expect the boxes containing christmas decorations to be the first thing she sees when she walked into the front door. The past few months in the house were quiet and sad and when December rolled around she had told herself that this might be the first year she wouldn't get to celebrate Christmas. Not that she didn't want to, but Braxton basically shutting her off she couldn't tell if he wanted to celebrate it or not and if she was going to be supportive she wouldn't want to push him.
But still like anyone who would celebrate Christmas, she decorated her little cubicle at work, bought presents, wrapping them up and hiding them in guest bedroom closet thinking that maybe Brax wouldn't want to celebrate this year.
But she was wrong.
A smile grew on her lips as she walked into the living room, carefully setting her bag on the couch and walked towards him. "Hey," She glanced at the boxes and the lights he was testing out. "I mean, yeah, of course." Charlotte smiled at him, but worry was still on her face. "But we don't have a tree.."
Trim The Tree || Charlotte & Braxton
Braxton had decided to leave the office early. All his work for the day was done and there was no need for him to play babysitter to the people in his department. The last few months had been difficult for him. Hell, difficult was an understatement. Most of the time he was literally fighting the urge to slip into depression. His relationship with Charlotte had been at a stand still. Only going through the motions. Braxton could tell that she didn’t know what to do, he had shut her out. He could see the sadness in her eyes every time she looked at him. The pity.
The holiday season had always been his favorite time of year. The food, festivities, and gathering of family. It had always made him happy. This year he’d decided not to go home for the holidays. Butt it didn’t matter. He had family right here in Paris. He just need to let them in.
He was testing Christmas lights when she walked through their front door. “Hey.” Braxton smiled, lightly. “I think it’s time we decorate. Yeah?”

Well, I don't have a sex life so. I guess the crafts is taking up my time? [chuckles] If you do need an intervention, someone would just probably surprise you in your office about it.
It was pretty crazy to grow up and have too many dates to remember to be honest. But I wouldn't have it any other way. That would be certainly be a surprise, I wouldn't expect anything dull for the holidays after that.
yeah I know what you mean, I’m pretty much halfway there. I mean if I banished my sex life and got a guinea pig or something we’d get mixed up. I need an intervention.
I’m so glad I was born without siblings to complicate it all up, instead I just deal with the grandparents referring to me as “he”. Unless i do indeed have a brother I never knew about

With my boring ol' work, I needed a creative outlet. Or else I'd end up like that old lady from accounting. Too gray and cynic for my taste but yeah.
I could. But a few siblings do live together so I might just end up giving a household one too many sandwich toasters.
It sounds really nice, I think i’m just way too lazy and not creative enough to ever do something like that.
To be fair you could buy everyone you know a sandwich toaster and they’d probably all really love it. Unless they were lactose intolerant I guess or allergic to gluten

Because it just feels like you haven't really thought about the gift because you got the other person the exact same thing.
I've never done that really, and I'm into the DIY crafts things to I've bought more things for that and just personalized the item. Time consuming I know, but that's my thing.

its fucking bait. I don’t understand why buying everyone the exact same thing isn’t cool anymore
