Entry 02

We landed on Black Citadel after midnight and wow this place is massive. The Citadel of Flame doesn't get close to the size of this place. I am sure my sire would be amazed too if he was… alive. 

I didn't had a place to sleep so I passed that night at some blood legion small camp closer to The Bane’s entrance.

After lunch I was summoned by a Blood Legion Tribune to discuss my next steps. Unfortunately for me the Tribune doesn't think I am ready to explore outside the city’s walls just yet so he requested further fahrar training for two more weeks. Burn me, why does no one believe I am strong enough to protect my own out there?

Although I am under Blood Legion’s claws I am considered a gladium, for now, until I find a warband to join in or build one myself. The Tribune told me not to worry that sooner or later I would fit in one of the legions… for now I make my home at Gladium Canton.

When I am not training in the fahrar I am exploring the Citadel. There are some interesting places to see here. This week I explored some ruins nearby, the ruins of Rin and the ruins of Nolani Academy. Nothing extraordinary on Rin other than some Priory scholars but at Nolani there was some real action.

Some soldiers alerted me about a few ghosts that often appear around. And I HAD to see it! I knew the Black Citadel was safe enough so there was no reason I couldn't check the area. I went there carefully though. I saw a few soldiers fighting that dusk. That should count as battle experience right?

At the end of the day I found a huge locked gate. How I wished I could get in that place but even if it wasn't locked it could be far too dangerous for me as there were way more ghosts around that area. It was no longer safe. 

I didn't expect to find so many beautiful places within the walls. I am kinda glad I was stuck here for a few days otherwise I could completely miss it. I even found an old Flame Legion camp in the ruins. The view was stunning.

Haha I know this is silly, start at Black Citadel, there's no action there. But I figured it would make sense following her backstory and tbh there is some pretty places to visit there. I am srry if I am doing this slowly, I want to make sure if whatever I write makes any sense since english is not my first language.

In the end she was lv 4 when I got to Plains of Ashford. See the two weeks in the fahrar gave her some extra exp lol

Entry 25

I'm certain - we lost track of Somnus and the Charr that went after him. None of the Outpost in Malchor's Leap has seen anything.

We also had trouble to recall them back to the citadel. At least two Outpost insisted to stay and deal with the risen. I understand this decision - the deeper we went into Orr, the more active the Risen became. We were caught in several ambushes ourself. Luckily it wasn't a problem for us.

At the same time this contradict with our mission. What are we gonna tell Tribune Bloodrage?

What else can I report? Actually not much. The crows remain - at this point I think they just part of the recent risen activity.

The only thing that was odd,... for a moment I thought the crows forming into a charr. I think the whole situation,... the stress plays tricks on my mind.

This figure disappeared as we got closer,...

At least my health is getting better again. But I can't speak for my mental well being. Atlas, however, seems unfazed by the whole situation.

Entry 1 - Introduction

This is my very first entry for my little journal. I wanna keep records of my new life as a soon to be adventurer.

Born into the Flame Legion, in the old days I would be destined to be a mere cooker but now I can be so much more thanks to our Efram Greetsglory feats.

Although my elders still consider me as a ‘cub’ I am old enough to leave the fahrar and explore this vast world!

My sire used to teach me some fire magic when I was a cub – hidden of course otherwise.. well I wouldn't be here – Besides I passed these last years training a lot, I am pretty sure I can protect my own tail now.

Unfortunately it seems like my first steps outdoors won't be in Grothmar Valley since last year's incident and with the rise of Dominion forces the legions decided to move all of the novices and cubs to the Plains of Ashford. Well at least I heard there was a good place for beginners.

My new path brings me so many more opportunities other than adventures.

Since cubhood I loved to craft trinkets and silly inventions. Although most of the Flame Legion males didn't like my curiosity for crafts, they did allow me to have some fun with it in respect of my sire, who was a high ranked legionnarie.

Now that I am going to the Plains of Ashford I will have the chance to mingle with like-minded Iron legion members. What will the future bring me?

After this long journey from Grothmar Valley tomorrow we shall arrive on Black Citadel. I am so excited that I could explode in flames. Burn me, I can't even sleep. That's why I took the time to write the beginning of my story.

Entry 24

We lost the track in the middle of the area of Straits of Devastation,... There are reports that he head deeper into Orr, but there was also an report he went back in direction of Lion's Arch.

Since we have to go deeper into Orr, we will keep an eye out for this red furred Charr. But our main objective will be seeking out the outpost and recall the soldier and hope we find a trace of Somnus.

Be it just his body,...

We took a small break in one of the outer Outpost. There were many injured from the risen. One of the soldiers told us they got more active recently. Which is odd, since Zhaitan got slain I thought the activity mellowed down?

But I have to admit, I stopped listening when he started with Ley energy and stuff.

At least they were kind enough to replenish our supplies and strengthen our armor.

Atlas also took this time to show me how to use a bow. Because my Dagger has seen better times,... and I won't speak about my old gun,... it shot more rust than bullets.

Using a bow feels strange,... but I think I gonna get used to it.

Our next destination will be Malchor's Leap.

OP Sidenote:

That was the most uneventful exploration of this Map. I did the completion with Alba in 3 session and each time I seem to hit the moment where nothing was going on.

The most exciting thing was an Camp Ambush and a Veteran :X

I probably get hit by Champions and tough moments in next two maps.

I took the opportunity to buy exotic gear from the karma vendor. But I'm still hoping for new weapons to drop. So far I was unlucky and I really wan't to try something else than staff - at least the bow is something new. (But to be honest - I'm not a big fan of the bow. Guess I need to get used to it, just like Alba)

"Mist Stranger Trahearne"

2025 practice paintover of my 2021 painting

Comparison with the original 2021 version is up now on my sketchblog - but you'll have to hunt for this yourself, as I'm sort of self-conscious about the older painting. And didn't want to post it here, lol.

Idea is inspired by a fun fan theory I saw at the time on reddit/tumblr, when they re-added the "Mist Stranger" NPC to Eye of the North.

The theory is that the Mist Stranger might be Trahearne, perhaps from an alternate timeline. I couldn't remember whether the theory originated from an individual, or collection of fans - I was curious and looked into it a bit, and it was mentioned by @brax-was-here and @knight-of-the-thorn (thanks to Brax for sharing this info with me!), and at least one user on the gw2 sub at the time.

This theory isn't part of my personal headcanon, but I enjoyed seeing the speculation. :)
