So. Hello everyone. At risk of sounding like a complete psychopath some really weird stuff is going on. And White Crest used to hold these like town halls to discuss important matters.Ā
This feels like one of those important matters. Like town ending important matters. Anybody know how I formally request a town hall???
.
Right. Weird stuff. You can say that again. Wasnāt sure this was town ending sort of deal, though. Unless that means everyone else is dealing with the same thing as me. But, uh, something tells me thatās not it.
Whatās going on, kid?

Explain. Town is weird. Strange things always happen.
.
You got a point but Iām gonna guess the same thing didnāt happen to you since youāre not an infant.
[pm] Somehow Iām a fucking teenager. Or at least thatās what it looks like. No fucking clue how. Or why.Ā

[pm] Weird town shit? Okay, spill. What the fuck happened?
.
[pm] I woke up younger. Iād say over ten years younger. Not sure what in the fuck is going on or what it means. I take it nothing like that happened to you.

Yeah? Then why am I always annoyed when Iām talking to you? Youāre gonna have to be more specific about strange. Town like this, strange shitās happening to me every goddamn day.
.
Because youāre an asshole, thatās why.
Anything drastic? Almost like time went backwards?Ā

You feeling less annoying? Thatād be a fun change.
.
Iām not the annoying one, connard. Thatād be you. And it seems like youāre the same asshole as always. So Iām assuming nothing strange happened to you recently.

[pm] What kind of wine says "I'm sorry I left town in a panic, but I'm definitely still in love with you and think you're the most beautiful person I've ever seen in my life"? Asking for a friend.
[pm] Thatās a pretty specific ask. Is it for who I think itās for? Probably want a red. Pretty sure flowers are better for theĀ āsorryā part.
Also, uh, you havenāt, uh, had anything weird happen to you recently?Ā

Iām Just a Teenage Dirtbag, Baby || Solo
TIMING: Current LOCATION: Kadenās apartment SUMMARY: Kaden wakes up feeling a little different than normal CONTENT WARNINGS: None!
Beep. Beep. Beep.
Fucking alarm. Had it always been this annoying? Kadenās hand fumbled around to slam the damn snooze button. It felt like it had gone off an hour earlier than normal. What the fuck time was it anyway?
The ranger grumbled and peeled his eyes open just enough to get a glance at the clock. 5:30. Same time as always. Still felt like he could sleep for about five more hours. He went to bed on time, didnāt he?
Putain. Even if he wanted to go back to sleep, Abel was barking, alerting his owner that it was walk time. He was right. That didnāt mean Kaden had to like it. His body felt like a fucking anchor dragging him back down to the bed as he tried to peel himself away from the comfort of the covers. Strange. Somehow his body both felt leaden and lighter at the same time, weighed down by grogginess, but lither, too. He shook his head, hoping to help wake him up and snap him out of whatever weird dream was lingering past sleep.
He stretched as he sat up, delaying the actual standing and walking part of the morning. Huh, no aches or pains. Kaden couldnāt remember the last time he woke up with his back and neck feeling that good. He rolled back his shoulders just in case. No, nothing. Pain free. Right, best not to question things. One last stretch up and he stood, shuffling over to the bathroom.Ā
Abel was at his heels, herding him to go faster, get a move on. āVa-tāen,ā he mumbled as he passed the mirror towards the toilet. Kaden lifted the lid and was about to let loose when he processed what he just saw in the mirror. Or what he thought he saw. He stepped back and snapped to his reflection.
The person looking back wasnāt him. There was something wrong. No facial hair, lankier, younger. āPutain de merde,ā he said, leaning in to the mirror.Ā
Shit.Ā
Heād been wrong. The person looking back was him. Only a version of him that hadnāt stared back at him in a long fucking time. His skin was smoother, his frame was thinner, hell even his hands looked different as he stared down at them.Ā
A slew of French swearwords spilled from his lips and fucking hell, his voice was different, too. Hard to say how but he just knew it was. He ran his hands along his face, almost as if to check that it was real. Felt real. The only traces of facial hair were scraggles and patches of stubble. In its place were a few spots of acne on his face. What the hell? He hadnāt dealt with this since he wasā
Kaden stood still, blinking at himself in the mirror. There was no way.Ā
Maybe it was just this mirror. Wouldnāt be the first time those had gone weird in White Crest. He was going to ignore how much scrawnier his legs looked as he wandered to the other, smaller bathroom to check that mirror.
āPutain de merde.ā Same thing. Right. Maybe it was just mirrors that were messed up. But how could he check that? He rubbed his mostly smooth chin as he thought.
He ran to his bedroom, knees feeling knobbier than usual, and grabbed his phone. He knew what he could do; he could call someone over to look at him and tell him if he was different. Thatād be easy enā
He looked down at the phone in his hands. The phone that had a camera. A camera that could take a picture and probably help answer his questions a lot sooner than having someone drive over. Right.
It took Kaden a while and a lot of cursing to get the camera to switch around so that he could take a āselvieā or whatever it was called. This was only after the attempts at taking a photo with the screen facing away from him failed.Ā
There was no mistaking it. If the quality had been worse (not that it was great considering the photographer in question), the picture could have been from the early 2000ās. Kaden had a feeling if he put it next to any of the embarrassing photos heād shared with Celeste way back when, this would look strikingly similar.Ā
āFuck.ā He didnāt know why or when or for how long, but he did know one thing: Kaden Langley was a teenager all over again.Ā

[pm] When you say that, it is not an inspiring proclamation. Need I remind you about the time a mime almost stabbed you to death? And countless other near misses?
I cancelled the mime, by the way. Wait. You didnāt know about the mime. There was a mime. I cancelled it.
Drive you home? Iām this close to discussing restraints with the nurses. You need to rest. Then I will drive you home.
Not the two people who are going to die. Or perhaps have died. But yes, Iām alright, I suppose. I donāt know how to convince people of their deaths when I myself donāt reallyā Certainly.
[pm] Well I wasnāt stabbed. That better? Itās fine, some frien--Ā hunt--Ā guys beat the shit out of me. Like I said, Iāll live.
There was a mime? Cancelled? Do I want to know?
I can rest at home. Better, even. I canāt relax here long enough to rest.Ā
Well thatās convincing.Ā

Priscilla is much happier with me. Would you deny her the right to be happy? You should be ashamed of yourself.
.
You donāt fucking know that. She could have been much happier in her previous home. Could have had a better name, even. Thereās a reason why any animal thatās found has to stay at the shelter for at least two weeks before anyone can adopt them. To make sure people can find their pets. Pretty sure youād be pissed if you lost your cat and saw someone on the internet acting like it was theirs.

[pm] It is not, admittedly. I am having a bit of trouble wrapping my head around all of this.Ā
No? I have not admittedly been in contact with hunters outside of you, Aylin, and Emilio. I am [...] not much of a hunter anymore. Haven't been on a proper hunt since Aylin's parents died.
[pm] Right. I think this is going to be better in person. If you want to talk about it. But, uh, Iāve been in a similar situation. A few, actually.Ā

[pm] But what if said demon deserves like 20 kicks in the shin? :/ And yeah, same one.
[pm] Well that oneās more or less human right now. So less risky than kicking most things in this town in the shin. Still might not be the best move. Definitely donāt kick them 20 times.

Oh no, I would not want to be a bother. You deserve payment for your baking, my friend.

If it was a bother, I wouldnāt have fucking offered, alright. Not to mention, pretty sure I make a better pie than whateverās in that store window. Paid or not, itās going to have to wait a little bit. Had a fun encounter the other night.
