so I know I kind of dropped off the face of the earth for a little while there, but between work and school and personal life, things got a little hectic. I’m graduating in a couple of weeks, so I’ve been pretty occupied. but I will be returning here, and I will hopefully be getting more active again.

The distance between them closes and he welcomes her embrace with open arms. Cherry smells like flowers and sunshine and it’s a nostalgic scent that he hadn’t realized he’s been missing.

                    “I’ve missed you too.”

      she doesn’t know what makes the ire subside and her shoulders slump, what makes her forgive his disappearing act from her life for so long. maybe it was just her feelings getting the better of her, or maybe it was a dull, longing ache for the wild and unpredictable void he filled in her life. this world was all fast and flashy, that these soft blips on the radar reminded her what she was fighting for.

      “i know what you mean to these zones, party,” she says quietly. “and i know you know that i’m not your keeper but... witch above, don’t scare me like that.”

      jaw sets, hand finding cameron’s own as they linger just a few steps from his grave. it was almost sacred to cameron, a shrine in and of itself to honor the boy he’d been before his own death. his voice is calm, despite the topic at hand. carter knows how much it means to him, and she knows that he never wants to be in the situation he was in before. but on the other, and the world could call her selfish for the very thought, she doesn’t want to lose cameron so quickly.

      their lifestyle was dangerous, risky, and they were in constant danger of death. she could lose him at any moment. but she understands, somewhat, from her own experiences. nobody wants to be in that situation. she’d tear the city to shreds if he were ever put back in that place, or if she herself were. carter squeezes his hand, lifting her gaze to meet cameron’s.

      it’s a welcomed change from her usual norms. he seeks her warmth, and she gladly accommodates him, arm winding around his torso to tug him ever so slightly closer. it’’s been far too long since she’s felt truly happy, and there’s something about the very presence of oliver-charles himself that radiates peace for her. eyes flutter closed and she leans into the other, settling and accepting the quiet between them until ollie finally speaks. ‘ eating in sounds lovely--- - think i’m still a little jet lagged from the flight in. ’  carter mumbles her response, smiling against the curve of a bicep. ‘ forgot how cute y’were when you got all nervous. it’s adorable. ’
