It's actually funny how humans decided "fuck living in caves with all these creepy crawlies", got out of caves, built houses that have all the nice parts of a cave without any of the yucky parts, and then all the little bugs and spiders and other creepy crawly creatures that used to also live in caves thought "sweet, new and improved caves" and moved right back in with us.

OH MY GOD, I just realized why Mordin may talk so differently compared to other aliens and even Salarians

It may be a hc but it might be because he isn't using translation software and is actually speaking English. It's the difference between speaking with someone using Google Translate for everything, and a very intelligent person who studied and learned a language themselves. It also explains why his singing actually rhymes in English when it wouldn't (most likely) in Salarian, and if he had an interest in other alien cultures (which is shown in his interest in theatre) of course he'd want to learn the original language of the culture he's participating in. It's like someone learning Russian to read Dostoyevsky's works in the original language.
