Headcannon Avandra

Avandra is the only god that doesn’t have her own divine dominion, and the only god that makes her permanent home on the Natural Plane.

She most often appears as a human, half-human or halfling. The only constant of her appearance is that she always looks like a foreninger. If she is in a cold mountain climate, she might be dark skinned and slim, if she’s in a dessert climate, she might be light skinned and stocky, and so on. She always carries the appropriate clothes and equipment though.

Many adventurers have met her as a stranger, asking to share a camp site over night, but few have realised the significance of such a meeting as she always conceals her divine nature.

Though she lives on the material plane (to the annoyance of certain other gods), she is still tied by divine laws, so she is limited in how much she can directly influence the lives of mortals. Most of the time she can’t fight directly on their side or against them, but she might be at just the right place at just the right time to give someone just a little nudge in the direction they need to go.

Cat magic is pretty raw and they mainly use it for getting into places they’re not supposed to. They can be trained if you’re patient, and will sometimes do favours for their owners out if the blue, but only if they want to.

Dogs have been bred for specific magic over the centuries and each breed can do certain things. Showing off your magic is an essential part of a dog show.

Horses come in horse, pegasus, and unicorn, each with their own magical talents.
