Types of Eosin Dye

In its free acid form (quinoid form), the carboxylic group (free form) of Eosin Y can readily be converted or 
transformed into quinones in equilibrium with lactones. The dissociation of hydroxyl or carboxylic groups may lead to the ionization of eosin Y in a weakly acidic medium.
Eosin B: 
Eosin B is a type of eosin that is also known as a dye compound. The other form of eosin B dye is 4, 5-dibromo-2, 7dinitro-fluorescein, also known as 4′, 5′-dibromo-2′, 7′-dinitro-3-oxo-3Hspiro[2-benzofuran-1,9′-xanthene]-3′,6′ diolate.
The staining of cytoplasm and red blood cells with eosin is commonly used in histology, particularly in conjunction with the staining of collagen and muscle fibers with hematoxylin.

The Fast Green FCF is preferable to the Light Green SF yellowish in Masson's Trichrome, as it is brighter and does not fade as easily. Use and restrictions: The regulations governing color additives stipulate that they must be used only as directed and intended for application. In addition to the maximum permitted concentration, the regulations specify other restrictions for certain colors.
Testing and Safety Measurements
