I’m Shaya. I’m here to share my experience with Rohini college of engineering and technology, the best engineering college in Kanyakumari district.

I am from Manipur and I joined Rohini college of engineering and technology in Kanyakumari district as per the suggestion made by my neighbor.From the first impression I understood why he suggested me and I should say it is the best engineering college in Kanyakumari district.

I joined for Electronics and communication engineering. It is a 4-year program focused on technologies in critical areas such as telecommunications, electricity and electronics, while promoting the development of the skills required to combine hardware and software components. The course is divided into a total of eight semesters, two semesters per year. Both practical and theory exams are held at the end of each year. The curriculum provides students with a solid base in the foundations of electronics and communications engineering through classes such as Analog & Digital Communications, Signals and Structures, Modern Logic & Circuits, Coding, etc.

The Rohini college of engineering and technology has an a great infrastructure. Here we can learn a lot. Other than studies we can learn about other activities also. I preferred this college because of its good teaching and placements. But after entering this college I learned a lot. My personality is changed after coming to college. I learned to make proper time management.

 In my course, we have two semesters for the internship program. So we can make a project in internship. It will be very useful to apply for jobs. So while we apply to any company they might know that we have attended internship and have done many projects. Faculties at RCET college are so helpful. Other than studies they motivate us to read novels and to do other activities. They also suggest movies to watch and also friendly.

We can make internship off-campus. So that we will make some projects. It is very useful while applying for jobs. We can choose any domains and we can search through online platforms like LinkedIn (for off campus).

And we have so many clubs for dance, music, drama and social activities. In our library, we have all books related to all department. It is very useful to students.

There are so many blocks for hostels. Four members can stay in a room. We have a cot, chair, table and we have all the necessities. If we have any electrical problems, we can inform our RC so that they will clear the problem the next day. The food provides in the mess also good. They will provide sweets every day. And provide ice cream in a week. The menu was also non-repeatable.All these makes RCET the best engineering college in kanyakumari district.

Rohini College of Engineering Technology, which is the best engineering college in Kanyakumari district, is something I found for myself. That was the best decision of my life. I did my mechanical engineering in RCET, I was adamant about taking the course. The college has all sorts of labs and Hi-tech facilities, which is expensive and most colleges don't have them. We had a faculty-student ratio of about 1 for 5 students. All faculties have their post-graduation and some PhDs.

Amid strong buzz over total corona lockdown in India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation in a TV broadcast on Tuesday. In his 20-minute-long speech, PM Modi admitted that the second wave of the coronavirus was like a ‘storm’ that has hit India. However, contrary to what many were expecting to be a lockdown announcement national address, PM Modi spoke about a new policy of self-discipline and a renewed focus on ‘micro-containment zones’. Lauding the healthcare workers, PM Modi said that he understands the struggles faced by each one of them. 4: Though PM Modi didn’t term it explicitly, he addressed the issue of the exodus of the migrant workforce. He said that the state governments should ensure that those people belonging to the floating population must be vaccinated within the cities. He also said that states must ensure new trust-building measures to help the migrants.

5: The most important takeaway of the PM’s address was that he requested the states to consider the ‘lockdown as the very last resort.’ He also asked the youngsters to form discipline committees to ensure Covid-appropriate behaviour at the local level. He said that if each one of us takes this pledge, no state or city would form containment zones.

Kangana Ranaut on Jayalalitha biopic Thalaivi: Her story is similar to mine

Director AL Vijay's Thalaivi (Jaya in Hindi), a biopic on the life of former CM J Jayalalithaa, will have Kangana Ranaut reprising her role.

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut turned 32 on March 23 and it was indeed a memorable birthday for her. Yesterday, it was announced that she will be reprising J Jayalalithaa in director AL Vijay's bilingual biopic Thalaivi (Jaya in Hindi).

Thalaivi, which is produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Shaailesh R Singh, is a biopic based on the life of former chief minister of Tamil Nadu, J Jayalalithaa. Yesterday (March 23), Kangana met the media and spoke at length about Jayalalithaa's biopic.

She said, "I always wanted to work in regional films because when we go to Tamil Nadu or Andhra Pradesh, we realise that people over there only watch films made by their local film industry. So there is a disconnect with that part of the country. I was waiting for a good opportunity to work over there and this film just came my way."

Kangana also pointed out that her life story is similar to that of J Jayalalithaa's. "I was working on my own biopic, but her (Jayalalithaa) story is very similar to my story. In fact, it is a bigger success story than mine. When I heard the narration of this film, I found many similarities between both the stories. So when I had the option to do a film based on her story or my story, I decided on the former," she added.

Thalaivi aka Jaya will be primarily made in Tamil and will also release in Hindi. Kangana also added that she will be learning Tamil for the film. "Unless I fail miserably and they (the makers of the film) have to look for an option for my dubbing. But I will definitely learn the language," Kangana exclaimed.

Kangana is said to have charged a hefty sum of Rs 24 crore as her remuneration. Baahubali and Manikarnika writer KV Vijayendra Prasad will write the story while Madhan Karky will pen the lyrics.

APJ Abdul Kalam Birth Anniversary

Known as the ‘Missile Man’ of India, Dr Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam’s 89th birth anniversary is being observed on October 15, 2020. The 11th President of India, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam‘s contribution to India’s missile research and development has been unparalleled. Dr Kalam left his imprints not just on science but also the fields that interested him like philosophy, literature, and language. He penned a number of books including Wings of Fire: An Autobiography, India 2020: A Vision for the New Millennium; 22 poems, and four songs during his lifetime.

On July 27, 2015, he collapsed while delivering a lecture at IIM-Shillong, and later passed away. However, he left behind a legacy, and his words inspire and motivate everyone even today. Celebrating his life and legacy, here are some lesser-known facts and inspirational quotes and thoughts by him.

*As a 10-year-old growing up in Madras, he started selling newspapers to help his father support the family. He would go to Rameswaram Road Railway station to collect the newspapers. It was a time of war, so the Madras Dhanushkodi Mail, which carried the papers, would pass through the station without stopping. The bundle was thrown from the running train to the platform from where he would collect it.

*Dr Kalam would get up at 4 am to take his mathematics lessons. He would also take a bath before going to class — a condition imposed on all students by the teacher.

*Although he grew up in a Muslim family, Kalam was well-versed in Hindu traditions and was secular at heart. He learnt Sanskrit and was an avid reader of both, the Quran and Bhagavad Gita.

He was of the opinion that after becoming the President of India, the Government of India will take care of him till the end of his life, so why not use his salary for better things.
