Assessment with David and Sarah in 15/Mar
The decision I have to make
-who is the audience-in gallery(which level) or daily wearing?
(if I both, like make two price version, some audience will be upset)
-the price
-the context (will influence the scale), put it at home or bring it every day?
-these elements will push the choosing of the materials
Image and the experience of audience(不要做照骗!)
Inspiration:
-Brass telescope(brass is cheap and vintage)
-Pink glasses
-Andrew Bracey -fine artist
-manchester peeps / The Ancoats Peeps (public exhibition) (like the ship)
NEXT STEP
Stop making and make the deceision of the audience, price, context, the way to wear or display, then choose the material to continue.

I cut the resin into several pieces and attached them to the mirror model. Because of the transparency, the light went through and added the colour to mirror image.

The view with the filter (pieces of resin I made).
First one is the transparent resin and the second one is dyed with light blue pigment.

I dyed the resin and poured it into the small sealed bag when the resin is half-hard set. And I made some texture. After the resin was hard set totally, I cut the package off. Different density of pigment was tried to see the difference of transparency.

I am in the Jewellery
Guowei Wang concluded that there are two levels of the realm in art -
“I am in the Art”(有我之境) and “I am not in the Art”(无我之境).
This concept is similar to Friedrich Schiller’s aesthetic theory of Naive and Sentimental Poetry. The “I am in the Art” artworks manifest subjective elements that illustrate the mood of the artist. I was influenced by Wang’s theory and decided to demonstrate the concept of “I am in the Jewellery”. Therefore, the development of my final work will be based on my experience and my interpretation of the reality.
