#1: what I actually want to do

Ah, Wednesday. Once upon a time, Wednesdays meant not having to set the alarm on Tuesday night; Tuesdays, in effect, felt like a primer for Friday. By Thursday, I'd have enough energy again to cap off the weekdays. But now? Wednesday is nothing more than wash day. Same amount of work, same amount of money to be spent. So instead of drawing cartoons and reading books that don't require a reflection paper, I'll have to be off in an hour or two to work on additional adult things that didn't exist last year. My low-key resentment towards this new routine has caused me to ask myself: is this really what I want to do in the long run? To be honest, I've always told myself that I certainly am in the sector where my heart is happy, but at the same time there are things which I'd love to do as much as educate kids everyday. I wish that eventually I could find myself doing both the things I love: teaching and illustrating. For now, all I have is this relentless gut-feeling that one day I'll have to make a shift in the direction paved for me by the available choices in the field of education. Maybe I'll come up with something where others, like me, can find peace of mind as well. Who knows? :) Love, Precious

back at it

Sooo originally this blog was intended for the sole purpose of putting my artworks out there for all to see and, ironicaly, that led to barely posting anything at all (special thanks to the inner critic and an ever-busy schedule). I've chosen to revive my Tumblr life because it has been eons since I’ve written something without subconsciously following a rubric of some sort and I honestly feel like I’ve lost touch with myself after everything that’s happened both here and overseas. I’m currently in my senior year of pre-service teaching and I’m not so sure what that should mean besides everyone assuming that I’m professionally equipped to help young ‘uns grow into responsible citiens. No biggie right?

So in an attempt to untangle and acknowledge all these dilemmas clogged at the back of my mind I will, at all costs, keep this blog alive -- because consequently it will keep me alive in a way. I hope that by reflecting regularly I’ll be able to put my priorities in check instead of constantly fantasizing about my plans to save the world. I’m excited to chronicle how this last year as an undergrad will unfold, and by God’s grace I’ll be able to look back at each post and say, “so that’s what you had in mind Lord!”
