I'm out of the loop but since when has using tildes in an rp become something hated? I've only ever used them for In-character dialogue to emphasize specific speaking tones, and now I'm afraid I'm gonna have a lot of people ghost me mid-rp if I dare to use tildes.

Tildes are used a LOT by people to emphasized their character it being flirty/horny/coy, usually without any descriptiveness to it. It's most commonly seen by people who do really short responses and kind of don't want to put a little effort in.

example:

"I'll take a piece of that~" She says, looking at you.

VS.

"I'll take a piece of that~" She says, as she looks you up and down with a wry smile.

Often times, the very little effort to describe how your character is feeling and leaving it all up to a tilde puts a lot of people off. If you don't write like Option 1, (even even better if you use italics for more emphasis) you're probably good at avoiding people who hate tildes.

i cant get over that one anon thinking cher has 600 users. i log in on a random weekday evening and theres 400 online. h. how do you think OVER HALF of a websites users will be on at any given time unless theres like, a huge giveaway event happening

I can't help but notice that after the site went down for an hour or so, the online count seems to consistently be ~100 users short of what it was before. Is online counting how many users are online, or how many windows/tabs have cherami open?

Also, vaguely along those lines, I really wish the 'online' count gave more information. Like, 20% in prompts, 50% in chats, 30% in new prompt/profile, etc. I don't really care if everyone's online refreshing their chats, waiting for responses. I do care if everyone's looking through prompts, or writing new prompts.

Is it weird that I’m a user who is not in the discord? I feel like an extreme minority. I just, idk man, I have to use discord for work and university, if I wanted to roleplay on there I would just roleplay on there, I love having a dedicated and isolated website, and now is when I say I have also never read a page of homestuck

genuine quesion, what's the difference between no plot and smutfishing? the plotness section of prompts confuses me so much. does smutfishing not imply no plot? or, at least, minimal plot?

ngl, it gets me as a 31 year old when people on cherp act like 25 is middle-aged and 30+ is ancient. but also, i cannot get over that some verified people were born in 2007. can i get a 25+ verification or something? i feel ick potentially rping smut with a kid straight out of high school, even if they're legal. ew.

im convinced no one on dreambubble knows what "+4prompt" actually means anymore.

its SUPPOSED to mean, you want the other person you connect to to send you a + symbol ooc if theyre interested in seeing your prompt, so you dont have to waste time sending prompts to people who will just disconnect.

it does NOT mean to just send the prompt regardless because, surprise, people will just disconnect if they werent interested! why bother adding +4prompt if youre not going to wait for the other person to express interest first.

I have multiple rps with one person, they'll usually come up with different ideas that we use a connect code for, all that stuff y'know. Only problem is, we will only ever have one active chat. The second they come up with the idea for something else and send the connect code, the current chat will get no more responses from them. I really want to figure out the best way to say something like 'I get you must really like these new ideas, but I still enjoy our other chats, any chance of us continuing them?' I think I asked once, though, and they straight up said 'Nah I don't think I'll go back to that one'. It's annoying, because they do have great ideas, but the current rp we're on right now is one I'm less enthusiastic about.

sorry not to be an annoying devil's advocate but didnt you guys literally tell tt to stop replying and start reblogging instead and now you are complaining that he is doing that??

the request was to stop replying in the comment section of posts because everytime someone argued with them, we would get spammed with notifs. TT reblogging their answers let's people argue/comment/whatever without blowing up our notifs. also it allows people to see the replied on TT's account, rather than having to find that one ask where TT answered something pertaining to the website.

edit: also the complaint is that TT is replying to confession blogs, instead of like, any other non-anonymous post in the cherub/cherami tag that has problems with the site/staff/whatever.

To that other anon, i looked at the account tt uses to reply to this blog's posts (idk if that's the account tt specifically uses for cherp business). stopped looking past the last 10 posts but all of them are replies to confession blogs so maybe checking tags and blogs is one of his mod jobs or something

maybe it's just me, but replying to confession blogs should not be a mod job.
