always sucks when a concept i'm really into goes from consistent responses to silence. just had someone dc on me after weeks of nothing following otherwise consistent rp, two rps (on the same prompt i wrote!!) with just my starter sent out, others where i've met silence while still in the ooc discussion phase. it's not looking good guys. if you aren't into my style or just don't have the time anymore or w/e just tell me so i know what went wrong 💔

it’s always weird to me when people ask if i mind them making up an OC for my prompt on the spot. like yeah man, how would I even know except that you just told me? also someone just asked me this and when i said “yeah i just made up these characters for this idea anyway” they d-ced on me lol. so you wanna make shit up on the spot but i’m supposed to be above that or smth? ok gurllll.

i'm a trans guy with trans characters on my hard no's. it's not that i don't like trans characters. it's a combination of not wanting to play with problems that i have irl, and getting major ick from a lot of the ways trans characters end up played. i just use the cis tags, but i'm about to have to start straight up saying no trans characters in the ooc of a prompt because jesus fuck people, read the tags! i get it for some more nuanced tags that might've been left out, but if someone doesn't have trans male or trans female tagged? don't connect and try it. same goes for if they only have women tagged, or only men, or only trans characters. there's only really 5 gender tags. if they're not tagged, it's more likely than not that that is intentional.

it’s actually pmo that I can’t see if new connects are verified. I don’t want to feel paranoid that I’m rping with a child and can’t make new prompts because of this. my only choice is to look through the directory w/ the verified tag and wait for something that isn’t a request for a super masc, dominant top for people’s boring pillow princesses who will just starfish the entire rp. and to make it worse, all my chats are literally dead, it’s been like this for weeks. literally can’t bring this up in the discord because I don’t want TT will most likely be aggressive to me over it 👍

No but you’re right. From everything I’ve seen or heard of TT, they don’t actually do anything helpful for cherp. Much less actually help its users. Which is very unfortunate.

Cherp/Cherami seriously needs to consider having a dedicated Required Tags, and Optional Tags sections on prompts because despite the existence of the Some Content Optional tag, I swear people are not being forward enough with what tags are absolutely non-negotiable to them in their prompts.

After a solid few disappointing years, countless posted prompts left unanswered or disconnected on, I've finally, FINALLY connected with a person with whom I've had an RP going on for a few months. And it. Is. Excellent. Writing is top-tier, replies are consistent, and their understanding of that particular character is so fucking good, which– not easy, as they usually get insanely mischaracterised.

Currently my sole active and engaging RP. Pray I don't fumble.

I completely understand people losing the motivation to roleplay because of the new site. Like the previous anon that spoke about it, I was an avid Cherp/CherubPlay user for years, but ever since the site changed, it just feels like that light has been switched off in my head. I even have the old Cherp skin just to keep me checking the site every so often, but it feels so strangely complicated to use, not to mention many of my frequent rps just going completely dead the second the new website came up. I don't blame them, I just wish the website felt... better? More streamlined? Typically I was only verified to give people peace of mind, I never went to Discord, but one of these days I'm thinking of just sending my Discord username to all of my chats and just dipping from the site for good.

No but you’re so right. I haven’t posted a single fucking prompt or connected to anything since the site moved because it’s unusable to me it’s so bad man. There’s maybe THREE chats I’m holding on to. (Two are my reply)

Sending this as a trans person expanding on the "hard no on trans ppl" thing relating to f-list:

-There are trans people with the parts they want if its mxm or wxw, specify post op or fully transitioned there are trans ppl on the site who would like to rp that trust but I also understand axing us out entirely for fear of coming off as transphobic and like yeah in that case we are shaking hands on staying clear, we all want to be respected, it is what it is

-The person with the "hard no" for trans ppl could very well be trans themself and Tired^tm and have had some piss poor encounters with "allies" who see us more as object than person, hell the person could also very well have bad experiences with other trans ppl on the site and just not want to cross (or burn) that bridge should it come up

-Ime as a trans person on the site, trans or not, ppl tend to be hyper-vigilante which makes sense considering the state of the world rn (ive caught myself being hyper-vigilante) and sometimes that itself can lead to transphobia where we're merely trying to guard against it

-Can we stop assuming strangers on the internet are cis until outed otherwise

Tldr; excluding trans people is not automatic evidence that someone is transphobic or a potential danger to trans people on its own and it is also reasonable to feel cautious about this exclusion bc of the way the world is rn. In either case, choose the option that feels most secure to you and makes you feel safe. This is a site for fun in whatever flavor were wanting it in and none of us are obligated to put up with something that doesn't jive with us.
