The redhead simply melted from her kisses, her expressions & the word yes branded into her mind as one of her favorite memories now. She was searching for any indication that her parents could have been upset by the sudden pet but she couldn’t make one out.

“I love you too ~” she simply replied back watching the goddess show off her new “child”. The way it made her happy caused a few tears to stream down Kai’s cheeks. Though her tears were interrupted by the sudden hug Loki had given her. She awkwardly patted his back unsure of how to react to his words and the gesture. The redhead was just treating the goddess how she should be treated. Reciprocating all the love she felt from Jade back at her to the best of her ability.

“You’re Welcome.” She finally managed to whisper back with a chuckle.

Once the two parents had left she turned her attention back towards Jade & the cub.

“So Violet huh? I like it! Maybe we should get her a super cute purple collar then.” Kai suggested patting the cubs head planting a kiss on top of Jade.

“This is our baby now so should we take her on a walk or maybe let her get some rest so we can catch up on some cuddles?“ Kai asked with a smirk.

“Oh but first we must take a snapshot of this occasion!” Kai expressed excitement before switching from video to camera mode of her phone taking a few snapshots of Jade & Violet. While also mixing in some family selfies.

“That’s not weird, or at least not to me! But I don’t think I can fulfill that in ways you may wish?” Kai scratched her trying to think of ways she could possibly satisfy the goddess with that particularly kink but came up blank in the end whilst finishing her s’more.

If we can handle one of those we could totally handle a kid.” Immediately after everything had come out she covered her mouth in embarrassment internally scolding herself for suggesting such a thing. Though the idea in & of itself wasn’t too bad. It was the type of animal you’d have to commit to just like an actual baby so maybe Jade wouldn’t find it too out there. Her gaze met the goddess giving a nervous smile & shrug awaiting to gete her thoughts about it.

Kai watched her goddess, her own eyes brimming with moisture from how Jade reacted to the sweet little cub.

“I just thought that this could be a surprise from me to you.” Kai admitted before Jade had pulled her in for a deep heavenly kiss. Afterwards she kicked her lips giggling over how much Jade had loved it all.

“After hearing about how much you had thought about it & adored the idea. I couldn’t not get you one. A fox could wait for a little bit.” The redhead admitted shifting nervously with her next part of the surprise.

“So Jade, you know how I didn’t really say no but I didn’t say yes the other night. Well I found some middle ground.” Kai spoke as she began moving closer to the goddess. She took a huge breath in before letting it out shakily as she knelt beside the goddess. Her mind raced as she gripped Jade’s left hand.

“I know you can be impulsive sometimes & I absolutely adore it. You’re radiant shining like a thousand stars. Your intelligence is incomprehensible to me & I honestly can’t put into words why I love you so much, but I can PROMISE you that when time comes. I’ll do anything for you.” Her words flowed from her heart out her mouth as she placed a small box, inside sat a gold. ring with 1 purple stone & on each side of it sat silver stones, In Jade’s left hand before pulling away & standing back up.

“It’s a promise, not a proposal. I hope that’s ok for now.” Kai admitted as she folded her hands in front of her anxiously awaiting Jade’s response to everything that she had given her today.

She cleared her throat unfolding her hands as she moved some hair out of her face glancing to the empty spaces between the goddess, her bear, & her answer.

Kai listened intently to Jade’s responses about how she’d care for the bear. The way she described it definitely warming her heart. It was enough to make the redhead fall in love twice over.

Kai turned around, her eyes brushing over Jade with a chuckle as she looked down at the pouty goddess before crawling into bed next to her

“I love you too babybear, So so much.” Kai replied pulling the goddess on top of her whilst snuggling up with her. That was until Jade had intimated her attack. Kai kicked, wheezed, & Nelly laughed until she had taken the upper hand from Jade.

“Hmm gotcha!” Kai said before pushing her hands up under her shirt onto her soft skin to initiate her own attack. After a bit she suddenly pulled them out, shushing her babybear by pressing several kisses on her lips and down her jaw to the neck.

“Yes you were a bad little bear, but I’m too tired to teach you a lesson right now. I’ll save it for tomorrow.” Kai said before pushing the goddess on her side facing her, pulling her close and intertwining their legs. Kai intentionally positioned herself in a way that would be easy to pull away from so that she could leave in the early morning hours.

It didn’t take long for the goddess to fall asleep & I’ve she did Kai pried herself away hoping that her father was still awake so that she could ask him if he’d be down to cover for the redhead.

Kai made her way towards the living room spotting him on the couch which sent a wave of relief through her. She approached clearing her throat before sitting on the other end.

“Excuse me… I have a favor to ask.” Kai started fumbling with her thumbs as she spoke.

“I’m planning on getting Jade a gift tomorrow, but I have to leave super early to ensure I can make it back before lunch. Which means… she’ll wake up and find me gone. D-do you think you could…” Kai sighed, rubbing the back of her neck nervously before continuing. “Do you think you could cover for me? Just tell her I left super early because my grandparents asked me to come back and that I’ll be back around lunch? Please. I really really want to get her this gift & it be an absolute surprise!” Kai pleaded, clasping her hands together hoping he’d agree.”and no I can’t tell you what it is because you & her are well… two peas in a pod. She’d figure it out if you knew.” Kai chuckled.

Once her father agreed Kai let out a sigh of relief before heading back to bed with the goddess. She’s hardly slept, too excited to enact her plan. By the time it was morning Kai had only just fallen asleep but the morning chirping of birds jolted her awake.

Once Kai had successfully slipped out of the goddess’s clutches she left a note explaining to Jade the excuse she gave Loki promising to be back by lunch.

It didn’t take long for Kai to return home to swap out the scooter for her grandparents cat. Upon reaching her destination she paid all the fees & upgraded her license using all of what she had saved for her fox. Even going as far as to forge an enclosure for the beast she was buying the goddess.

Once everything was approved & sorted the redhead was allowed into an enclosure to pick out what she had planned. This was the hardest decision she’s ever had to make but In the end, Kai felt confident with her choice. The fluffiest of fluffs, Jade was going to love it.

Kai loaded the creature up into a crate in the back seat rushing back to the asgardian home with eagerness.

When she arrived Jade made sure to quickly unloaded the gift, putting the carrier in the backyard with a bouquet of roses and a folder of the adoption papers on top of it. Before running in through the back door with a blindfold.

“Knock knockkkkk~” Kai said, swinging open the door calling out for the goddess. Immediately hugging her once she was sighted.

“Everything is set up for you, I’m so excited but first you have to wear this!” Kai said, holding up the blindfold with a twinkle in her eye.

She rushed behind the goddess tying it off expecting a kinky joke whilst heading her out back. Once she was a few steps away from it all she stepped away pulling a camera out pressing record for a video.

“Ok… you can open it.” Kai said with a choke a few tears falling down her face prematurely due to the amount of effort She put into it all.

Kai snorted at the shocked expressions a bit amused by the both of them. She didn’t realize that her accidental joke would omit this type of reaction from the both.

“Thanks? I think.” She replied after clearing her throat, shifting her eyes back towards the fire after watching her father conjure the stick. She stared at her intertwining her fingers with Jade’s before her head snapped back towards her father.

“I— well yeah but that would have ruined the joke—.” Kai stammered out in response to him. She shifted a bit tilting her head to the side listening to Jade & Loki converse with a hidden smile. The interaction caused her eyes to water a bit. She envied Jade’s interactions with her parents sometimes but she also found it endearing.

“It’s a small house Jade— did you really think we were being secretive?” Kai asked, inhaling sharply before cocking a brow with a tiny smirk.

“Fine fine I’ll ignore it.” She added giving the goddess a genuine smile before continuing with their small talk.

Once Loki had left the two alone Kai gladly took the opportunity to continue talking to Jade about the possible adoption of sorts.

Kai eyed the goddess as she straddled her lap enjoying her touch. Her arms and hands falling gracefully onto her perfect waist. Her thumbs circled the waistband teasingly before asking her next set of questions.

“Hey Jade… if you ever got a bear, where would you keep it?” She was a bit curious to hear about how she’d plan for such an animal.

“Like if you could have one, what would you do with it tell me about it?” Her inner cogs trying to work out how to work out what she had planned.

The redhead rose taking the goddess’s hand before jerking her arm twirling her about like a little ballerina before scooping her up romantically.

“I sure did. You need them just as much as I do right now. So it would be my pleasure to carry you to your bed and hold you all night long if you’d let me.” Kai whispered, pushing her lips against Jade’s softly before carrying the goddess to her room, closing and locking the door so that their cuddles wouldn’t be interrupted.

Kai smiled through her brief explanation of the immortality bit trying not to dwell on it too much knowing if she did, she’d definitely overthink. Though despite her best efforts the intrusive what ifs did float about.

Jade's peck did pull her back to reality a bit though, the redhead opening wide for the marshmallow with a smile as she questioned where they would even obtain one.

“Mm you’re right, definitely not as cute.” Kai said with a mischievous grin of her own as an idea bobbled about inside her head. “I have my ways though. For foxes all you need is a permit. You can buy them from a licensed seller and uh well I have a license already because I was going to get one eventually anyways.” Kai explained with the hope that it’d be easy to get away with the secondary idea. “I actually got my permit before I met you. So maybe it worked out?” She admitted with a smirk wiping some of the chocolate off the side of her mouth before her father announced his presence which prompted Kai to immediately scooch closer to Jade out of a small pinch of nervousness.

The redhead always handled her nerves with jokes whether they be internal thoughts or actually spoken. Though sometimes they’d slip out without her meaning to speak to them.

Kai passed the marshmallows to Jade to pass to her father avoiding eye contact with him as finished off her last sugary sweet.

“Only if you admit that I’m the daddy now.” Kai accidentally slipped out before immediately turning red realizing that her comment had been made aloud instead of in thought.

“Oh crap?! I didn’t mean to say that out loud! I’m so sorry!” Kai spat out in a panic as her eyes shifted in between the two. She tried to laugh it off forcefully hoping it’d be brushed over. Mentally slapping herself in the process.

Kailani wiped away strangling tears from her eyes as she listened to Jade. She popped a marshmallow on a poker twirling it over the fire.

“No. If I stayed home it wouldn’t have happened. It might not solely be my fault but I definitely played a role.” The redhead snapped back. She pursed her lips trying to believe what Jade said knowing her snap was unwarranted. It’s just what everyone told her & she was sick of it. She admired the ritual gesture andher sympathy though.

“I’m sorry I didn’t mean to snap back. I just hear that a lot and I don’t like it too much. Maybe because deep down It’s easier to blame yourself.” She said as she pulled the marshmallow out of the fire blowing it out before assembling a s’more for her lovely girlfriend beside her.

“Here you can have the first one babybear.” Kai said with a smile, handing it to the raven haired goddess. As her brain continued to play around with the idea of seeing or speaking to her parents potentially. Despite how much she wanted to, Kai didn’t think she could.

“As much as I want to say yes, I just think it would hurt too much. I’ve only just gotten used to not seeing them… I’ve stopped expecting them to be in the kitchen making breakfast when I wake up listening to the news & telling me goodbye as I rush out the door because I didn’t get up on time as usual.” Kai laughed at the silly, bittersweet sentimental memories she had left.

“I really do appreciate the offer though Jade. No one’s tried to help like that before.” Kai finally mustered up declining the ritual for now. Afterwards pecking her sweet lips.

“Maybe…. I might change my mind in the future though. Would that be ok if I did?” Kai questioned as she watched the goddess eat her sweet snack she had roasted. Kai fumbled another mellow onto the poker in an attempt to make herself one at this point as she tried to tilt the conversation off herself and back onto Jade.

“So this might be a painful question but… I want to know if that’s ok. If you don’t want to answer, you can pass or ignore it.” Kai began with as she pushed the mellow into the crackling fire.

Kai knew she became an organized mess of a pack rat when moving to New York, and she was heavily embarrassed by it. But after losing her parents she began to keep things for memories sake. She knew it was irrational built upon the fear of loss but it was something she was working on.

“I know I shouldn’t but it’s just… I’m not normally this messy.” Kai sighed when opening the door. She winced slightly at her organized mess before accepting her invitation to tidy up. Naturally she clicked some tunes in before starting to clean up her desk, as to hide something she’s been working on for the goddess. She gave Jade free reign of the room humming to herself before Jade had caught her attention.

“What’s wha—“ Kai asked, turning swiftly to see Jade holding a blue box that she had completely forgotten about. “I-It’s Nothing give it back?!” Kai desperately retorted, reaching for the box but Jade's playful curiosity was too quick for her. The redhead stared horrified as Jade began to sift through the photos. She had feelings of shame, guilt, & most of all regret for not disposing of the box sooner. She could tell by the look on Jade's face she was destroyed by the contents. She didn’t deny who the girl was but she did try to speak up fairly quickly to explain the situation, knowing what it looked like. “Jade I promise you it’s nothing, let me explain.” She cried desperately as Jade threw it all down and stormed out of the house.

“W-what!?” The redhead responded when Jade had exclaimed she couldn’t do this anymore.

Kailani attempted to chase her down but tripped on a sweater crashing to the floor. By the time she got back up and made it to her door the goddess had sped off.

The redhead flew back upstairs grabbing her phone wanting to desperately text Jade but she knew it was better to not distract her while driving upset. The last thing she wanted was for Jade to pick up her phone to read what she had to say and not make it home. She slid the flood eventually curling up with a blanket. Her dog made its way into it as well with her. When her phone chimed. A notification on jades tumblr.

“What the fuck?!” Kai exclaimed out loud to herself, sitting up as she read Jade's post. The second post shattered her even more. She didn’t understand how Jade could just cut off and act like this with zero context let alone an explanation. Kailani knew she was out of line when it came to keeping the box but it didn’t sit well blasting this argumentative misunderstanding over the Internet. After a few reblogs she finally got Jade to agree to message her privately which she was thankful for.

Kailani tried her best to explain things. She knew she was mostly in the wrong but she still couldn’t help but feel hurt but Jade’s ability to just toss her to the side and label herself as single so quickly. Like none of it mattered or was special. Was it just her way of protecting herself? She wondered. She typed vigorously trying to keep a calm ish text thread going.

As soon as Jade mentioned she wished to be held Kai graciously wrapped an arm around the goddess pulling her close. The heat of the fire blanketed the two in its warmth as Kai listened to Jade begin to speak. Her fingers scraping her scalp in a soothing manner listening to her secrets.

“Since we are sharing, I… I killed my parents or rather it’s basically my fault. Her older brother invited friends from his college dorm & when my parents noticed I was missing they went straight to her house and drug me out.”

“On the way home they argued, I argued. We all said things we didn’t mean and next thing I knew I was in a hospital & they were gone. One of her brother's friends tried driving home with some friends & collided with us. We were all fine because of a drunk's luck, but my parents were not. After that I broke up with her because I began to see what they meant by how she was bad. I saw how she didn’t care about my loss or feelings & how she manipulated me into things. Then I moved here.” Kai smiled towards the end after being reminded that moving here led her to Jade.

“Then I met you & I saw a light again & I’d like to think my parents would have loved you.” Kai admitted with a slight laugh towards the end pushing herself off the patio chair, picking the box up and tossing it into the fire before plopping back down next to the goddess pulling out the marshmallows, chocolate, & graham crackers.

Kailani’s face dropped at the serious tone Jade had giving a meek nod when she spoke.

“Oh. I’m sorry… I’ll respect your wishes then.” She stammered out swallowing the knot in her throat trying not to burst into tears by the sudden rejection Jade Jade gave her. This hot and cold situation gave her whiplash, first she was asking her to come over, bringing up a proposal but not she was asking her to leave and calling it quits.the redhead shook her head before snatching up her bag taking one more look at the goddess before opening her bedroom door and exiting it, closing it softly as to be respectful towards her despite wanting to slam and storm out.

Kai knew she had to pass by Jade’s parents and when she did she simply offered up the best explanation she had.

“I’m sorry, she asked me to come by to talk but it just didn’t work out like we thought it would. I apologize for any pain I may have caused her & you two.” Kai choked out avoiding eye contact before rushing out the front door towards her electric bike. Kai wrapped her other hand over Jade’s as her lips pulled away and she sat straight. She could tell Jade was still panicking based on how she spoke and such.

“Hey, listen to me. Breathe.” She said sternly ignoring the fact that Jade has told her to forget about her and leave for the moment. The chill of her fingers caused Kai’s fingers to tingle once more.

“Jade I wouldn’t blindly say these things just to make you happy. If I didn’t want to be around or with you like this I wouldn’t have fought for you, I wouldn’t have felt as hurt as I did when you just left, I wouldn’t have come here tonight, and I certainly wouldn’t be burning this box with you. If I didn’t love you I wouldn’t be fighting for you.” She said before letting go of Jade's hands to wrap her arms around her pulling the goddess into a hug. It didn’t take long for the cold contact to perk up Kai’s nipples hard enough to cut glass. She buried her face in her neck, swallowing hard. Something she had hoped Jade didn’t notice.

Kai knew she became an organized mess of a pack rat when moving to New York, and she was heavily embarrassed by it. But after losing her parents she began to keep things for memories sake. She knew it was irrational built upon the fear of loss but it was something she was working on.

“I know I shouldn’t but it’s just… I’m not normally this messy.” Kai sighed when opening the door. She winced slightly at her organized mess before accepting her invitation to tidy up. Naturally she clicked some tunes in before starting to clean up her desk, as to hide something she’s been working on for the goddess. She gave Jade free reign of the room humming to herself before Jade had caught her attention.

“What’s wha—“ Kai asked, turning swiftly to see Jade holding a blue box that she had completely forgotten about. “I-It’s Nothing give it back?!” Kai desperately retorted, reaching for the box but Jade's playful curiosity was too quick for her. The redhead stared horrified as Jade began to sift through the photos. She had feelings of shame, guilt, & most of all regret for not disposing of the box sooner. She could tell by the look on Jade's face she was destroyed by the contents. She didn’t deny who the girl was but she did try to speak up fairly quickly to explain the situation, knowing what it looked like. “Jade I promise you it’s nothing, let me explain.” She cried desperately as Jade threw it all down and stormed out of the house.

“W-what!?” The redhead responded when Jade had exclaimed she couldn’t do this anymore.

Kailani attempted to chase her down but tripped on a sweater crashing to the floor. By the time she got back up and made it to her door the goddess had sped off.

The redhead flew back upstairs grabbing her phone wanting to desperately text Jade but she knew it was better to not distract her while driving upset. The last thing she wanted was for Jade to pick up her phone to read what she had to say and not make it home. She slid the flood eventually curling up with a blanket. Her dog made its way into it as well with her. When her phone chimed. A notification on jades tumblr.

“What the fuck?!” Kai exclaimed out loud to herself, sitting up as she read Jade's post. The second post shattered her even more. She didn’t understand how Jade could just cut off and act like this with zero context let alone an explanation. Kailani knew she was out of line when it came to keeping the box but it didn’t sit well blasting this argumentative misunderstanding over the Internet. After a few reblogs she finally got Jade to agree to message her privately which she was thankful for.

Kailani tried her best to explain things. She knew she was mostly in the wrong but she still couldn’t help but feel hurt but Jade’s ability to just toss her to the side and label herself as single so quickly. Like none of it mattered or was special. Was it just her way of protecting herself? She wondered. She typed vigorously trying to keep a calm ish text thread going.

Kai furrowed her eyebrows trying to keep the tears from falling down her face as she attempted to explain herself to the girl she loved most. As memories of her previous life with the blonde & her parents made her itch. She didn’t like being reminded of how the blonde could be rooted back to everything that seemingly destroyed her life. Not to mention how much harm the blonde had done to her which she just allowed because she thought that’s what love was.

Obviously this wasn’t working out the way Kai meant for it to ok. They both fought & said things they didn’t mean. Eventually both of them breaking down to their core feelings. Kai desperately trying to prove her love & Jade not feeling worthy of it somehow.

Kai’s grip around the goddess tightened as she sobbed letting out a shaky breath as she apologized through her tears. Hand over hand she pet her hair soothing Jade best she could.

“I know… I’m sorry too. It’s not your fault. Shit happens & we aren’t always going to have sunshine & roses in this relationship, but that’s ok. Sometimes we need a little rain so we can appreciate the beauty after the storm.” Kai whispered in a cracked voice, planting kisses atop her head that was buried into her chest. Her own eyes watering as she tightened her grip on the goddess.

“A monster? You’re a beautiful soul, how could you think that?” The redhead's brows scrunched up as Jade’s body temp shifted, a short shiver emitting from her. She stroked Jade’s back lovingly as she spoke in a gentle tone softening her look. “I could never see you as a monster I promise.”

Kai hummed softly before pulling away from Jade. “Now let me get a look at your natural beauty.” She said as her hand greeted Jade’s cheek her thumb tracing the markings as her eyes widened with awe. “I love you, I really really love you. I want to scream it so loud sometimes because I want the entire world & more to know that’s how I feel, but…” Kai paused, licking her lips before continuing.

“I want to see more of you, the REAL you, because god I can’t help but love your natural beauty. I want to explore more with you first. I wanna cry over dumb shit with you, burn food accidentally, sneak out & do something stupid, maybe even get mad when you forget something important. I think what I’m trying to say is, we’re young. Throughout the texting back & forth Kai managed to get out everything she needed to via crying. Something she didn’t do often, especially like this. Eventually it got to a point where her love was questioning why she loved her so much. To be fair, Kai wasn’t the best at expressing herself through words but more so through actions, but she did her best.

The redhead was sideswiped with pleasure as her vision completely blacked out when her coil snapped. Her cries fading as she snuggled up next to Jade. Her breath attempted to slow itself. With her spotty vision and exhausted figure she strung her fingers through Jade’s raven hair with a hum.

“Very good baby bear.” She praised tangling her fingers in her hair.

She sighed contently, thinking to herself for a moment. “I wish we could stay like this forever.” She mumbled referring to how intimate & warm this all felt with Jade.

“I probably shouldn’t stay out too long tonight, but we should plan something to do this weekend. My grandparents surely know about the detention, but I think they’d be mostly upset that I got caught.” Kai chuckled knowing how they were the type of spoke who did the same stuff when younger. Of course the redhead giggled uncontrollably at the thought of flaunting the love she had for Jade a bit more publicly. It would seem jade didn’t necessarily catch onto what Kai had meant but that was ok. “Oh I know, but not like how I’m about to.” Kailani teased forewarning Jade of the acts of adoration & love she had just made permissible for the public to see. She made her best attempt to stifle her giggles herself but Jade’s lips seemed to have done that for her. She locked her instantly as her final giggled turned into an excited squeak of sorts. The taste of her lips plus the popsicle she had eaten mixed together.

When Jade Jade finally pulled away from Kai’s lips, a low whine emitted from her throat as she stared into the goddess catching her breath. “I guess we’ll drown in each other’s eyes then huh?” She replied back, tangling her fingers with Jade’s.

Kai giggled as Jade peppered her entire face, neck, and hand in kisses forgetting about the other inhabitants of the house, up until Emmy had made her way into the living room startling the two. Kai was slightly embarrassed, her face turning red as she fell silent. But even that was short lived as she heard the younger sister exclaim that kissing was gross warranting a laugh from Kai. Quickly covering her mouth realizing that it probably wasn’t funny in Jade’s mind, afterwards mouthing I’m sorry to her.

To her surprise the next person to come into the living room to cause further embarrassment was her father, his comments sending her teetering between red with embarrassment & also pink with curiosity— wondering if Jade would actually do it.
