Dragons for sale? Dragons for sale!

Optional Lore: Tempest Toys, a toy factory in the Shifting Expanse, has recently released its newest line of state-of-the-art toys and trinkets!

Amongst this latest batch are what they’ve nicknamed the ‘Living Toys’ - artificial...dragons?

Get ‘em while they’re hot! Anyone on page 1 of this tab is for sale, PWYW as long as it’s above the fodder floor! I’d prefer you don’t exalt(but of course I can’t dictate what you do with your dragons ^^’)

[P2] An Introduction to… Upper Management

At the top of the factory’s hierarchy is the Upper Management team. These dragons are recognised as the best of their individual departments, and work together to make sure the clan’s morale and work ethic is kept as high as can be. These dragons are widely respected by a majority of the factory’s workers, though of course there’ll be a few outliers here and there. Everyone can agree, begrudgingly or not, that they are the best for their jobs.

Sterling Resources Manager - he/him

Sterling is in charge of making sure the Factory has everything it needs at any time - materials, food, random trinkets his friends and coworkers collect, that’s all part of his job.

Plenty of skulls and feathers decorate his body, all a warning to potential foes, as well as small markers of big achievements! He’s rather proud of his own collection of trophies, and will happily talk to anyone who’ll listen about each trophy’s origins.

Sterling was one of Aves’ original right-hand dragons, the resident lead hunter back when they were a disorganised Clan. He’s stayed by her side even as others left, has seen plenty come and go, and overall has almost as many anecdotes under his belt as Aves herself. Sometimes they share tea and stories in the library.

Video Leisure Director - he/they

Video's a chatterbox, a scatterbrain, and generally the worst dragon for the job if you want someone who'll get the work done. He's all play no work, and this behaviour almost got him a life of work under the Stormcatcher himself, because if anyone's supervision could actually get them to work, it'd be his. It didn't work. He was sent back within a week, holding a note stating; "SPENT ALL DAY WATCHING SAPPY ROMCOMS WHEN HE SHOULD'VE BEEN WORKING. YOU CALL THIS WORTHY?" So Zell and Rudy had to figure out what to do with him...and came up with the perfect idea. Video would be in charge of keeping morale high and making sure everyone takes reasonable breaks! As well as handing out refreshments, he kinda took that one upon himself though.

for anyone who’s grinding for the coli genes, diamond drops from wind, water, and earth aligned enemies, spade drops from shadow, light, and arcane aligned enemies, and polkadot drops from fire and plague aligned enemies according to the game database! this means that people have figured out that the best venues to grind for these genes are as follows:

diamond: redrock cove or forgotten cave spade: arena, blooming grove, or forbidden portal polkadot: volcanic vents

also, the dryad’s saddles needed for the polypore (mushroom tert) trade can be found in longneck packs, which drop from longneck interloper, magi, mender, and skirmisher; all of which you can encounter in the arena!

[P1] An Introduction to... Upper Management

Everyone can agree, begrudgingly or not, that they are the best for their jobs.

Zell Lead Director - they/them

The main one in charge, most look to Zell for information on the current goings on with the factory. They make most of the important decisions, such as current goals to work towards and what each dragon’s job will be.

While they try to keep a calm and collected, ‘no-nonsense’ exterior, those close to them know them to be quite the party animal when allowed to let loose. Their friends have quite a few good stories to tell!

They showed up alongside Rudy, both lost hatchlings that met up on the Shifting Expanse after departing from their respective flights unexpectedly. They’ve been inseparable ever since, and were chosen to lead together in Aves’ place.

Rudy Secondary Director, Trainer - she/they

Rudy is Zell’s right-hand dragon. She’s by their side on a constant basis, and is the first dragon they’ll go to when struggling with a particularly difficult decision. She’s also in charge of taking dragons out to The Mire to teach them how to fight and various other skills they’ll need for a life under The Stormcatcher, however she also offers her training services to dragons unaffiliated with the Toy Factory, for a fee of course.

She comes off as a bit more relaxed and fun-loving than Zell, but when alone, she’s definitely the braincell of the pair. They at least make sure their friends don’t get themselves hurt - she isn’t afraid to get up to some shenanigans in a safe environment, of course.

Rudy showed up with Zell one day. The pair of hatchlings were taken in one day after Rudy almost managed to get herself hurt, and, once grown, Rudy soon proved herself to be possibly the factory’s strongest asset. Skilled combat-wise, extremely talented at collecting materials and overall well respected and loved. Aves didn’t hesitate much when picking her as a successor.

Aves Librarian/Lorekeeper, Former Director - she/her

Aves was the Lead Director of The Toy Factory for a long time, but eventually saw it fit that instead a fresher face lead. When assessing who should lead, two new arrivals stood out to her - Zell, mostly calm with an appreciation for life's unpredictability, and Rudy, enthusiastic, but aware of when a more serious tone should be taken. The pair bounced off of each other perfectly, and she knew they were exactly what she was looking for - new rulers that would breathe fresh life into The Factory. So Aves retired to her library, now able to focus on the upkeep of The Factory's history and overall knowledge, occasionally teaching new hatchlings herself, though that job has mostly been distributed among other dragons too. She doesn't miss the responsibility of leading, she much prefers to keep to herself in her book nook.

Aves is a kind soul, and loves to pass her knowledge onto anyone who’ll listen. When you get her going, she can ramble on for hours and hours, up until she notices the time and apologises sheepishly for keeping you there so long. In her company, you may hear anecdotes of the days she lead a less organised clan structure in the Windswept Plateau, or more recent stories of the inner workings of Upper Management, such as that one time Video burst into the room with movies and snacks...

She’s been thinking about getting an apprentice too...maybe a spiral who can navigate the library’s winding shelves.

Iridescent Nursery Director - she/her

Iridescent is in charge of taking care of the Factory’s eggs and hatchlings. The next generation, their future. She keeps them healthy and active, and ensures they have a good childhood before they have to experience what life has in store for them.

Irid is a proud of her job and status, and expects as much respect as one can give, sometimes without giving much in return. While it can’t be denied that she does deserve some of the recognition her job demands, many believe her to simply be vain and rude. She doesn’t believe this herself though. She’s also rather overprotective, and won’t allow for any hatchlings under her care to leave the Nursery until they’re considered old enough. This has resulted in conflict in the past. When talking to hatchlings, Irid is sweet and kind. She allows them to call her Iri, and they all look up to her. However, she does tend to have a habit of pushing her expectations of greatness onto every hatchling that comes into her care, and if they don’t live up to said expectations, her disappointment is noticeable.

Most workers are told to pay no mind to her grumblings, though. Once they’re out of her care, they’re not her concern.

How's Rudy doing? I heard from Orion that she used to be a member of the Towers at one point, did they get lost or something?

Rudy kinda just showed up one day! A lot of hatchlings like to show up at the Factory's entrance, as they don't really tend to have anyone guarding - they're not exactly located anywhere particularly dangerous, so they saw no need. Almost got themselves hurt, but Aves managed to rescue her and place her in the much safer nursery area with Irid.

Irid tried to tell her they were stuck for space, couldn't accept any more kids, but fuck this one was cute, just one more Irid. And Rudy soon proved herself to be possibly the factory's strongest asset. Skilled combat-wise, extremely talented at collecting materials and overall well respected and loved. Aves didn't hesitate much when picking her as a successor.

Welcome to the Toy Factory!

We run a toy factory near the Tempest Spire, a sprawling open-plan...well, you can't really call it a building.

Our specialty is plush toys, but we also make clockwork/wind-up stuff, and are always looking for innovative ideas to entertain hatchlings and full-grown dragons alike all over Sornieth!
