These Byssolite & Rutile included quartz pieces just dropped on cheshireocean.com! These pieces are very special to me as they come from Vietnam, where my mother’s side of the family escaped from while it was coming out of its warring state as diaspora trying to find a better life.

Here is a quartz piece from Inner Mongolia that has a blue smoke phantom! “Blue smoke” inclusions are misco inclusions in the quartz that react with light to induce the Tyndall effect which is that blue feathery outline we can see in the quartz termination. Super neat 🙂

A very beautiful deep purple fluorite with curious surface structure on each top plane of the fluorites. Very reminiscent of QR code fluorite.

These snowy fluorite pieces from Ru Yuan, Guangdong, China are all prepped and ready to go up onto my website! They’ll be going up tomorrow: 10/31 with a few other things! 🙂

I’m in the process of adding these quartz pieces from Yunnan, China to cheshireocean.com!

Quartz from the Yunnan province in China is also referred to as Yungui quartz, Yungui being the name of the valley where this material is found (it is the area between Yunnan and Guizhou).

This group includes clear quartz, carbon included quartz and smoky quartz! This variety of quartz is famed for variety of morphologies for quartz and its ability to produce in-tact double terminated quartz quite consistently.

The carbon included quartz from this locale is often sold as Tibetan quartz (this area was technically a part of Tibet until the lands were re-bordered over the years).
